Build an Automatic Sorting Bin Guide

This document provides instructions for making an automatic sorting bin using Arduino, infrared sensors, servo motors, and other materials. The bin is intended to help sort waste at schools more efficiently by detecting the type of waste placed in the bin and using servo motors to direct it into the proper container. The 3-step process involves 1) preparing the bin body and installing wooden boards and sensors, 2) programming the Arduino and connecting components, and 3) testing the fully assembled automatic sorting bin.

The problem is....
The problem in our school that relate to
environment is dispose of waste without sorting
it first
Negative effect on school is
1 Complicates waste management

2 Polluting the environment

The solution is....
(Make Automatic Sorting Bin)
Material
the materials used are:

Infrared
servo motor 3
Arduino Sensor 1
pieces
Uno 1 Piece piece
Material
the materials used are:

Adaptor 1 piece Wooden Jumper cable

board
Material
the materials used are:

screws electric socket Micro USB cable

Material
the materials used are:

plastic
trash bin 1 container 3
piece pieces
power cable
Tools

soldering kit drill

STEP TO
MAKE 25

- First, prepare trash bin and 20

install a wooden board with a

size that matches the size of
the trash can, we can give 10

screws and drill it. The

instalation position is at the 5

bottom of the trash can.

- Then, Install the three servo motors on the board in a parallel position
with a distance that is adjusted to the size of the plastic container.
Instalation is done using screws and then drill it
-Next, use a jumper cable to connect the servo motor to the digital pin
on the arduino, Solder the part that is connected with the jumper
- After that, attach a wooden board measuring ⅔ of the size of the
trash can at the top of the servo motor using a drilled bolt
- Then, place three plastic containers on the board above the servo
motors
- Next, attach a small wooden board to the top side of the trash can
body using a drill screw ( for place to put sensors and arduino )
- After that, install the infrared sensor on a small board with the sensor position
facing the trash that Will fall later, attach it with a screw
- Then, use a jumper cable to connect the sensor with the arduino digital pin, use
solder to connect it
- Also put the arduino on the small board. Attach it to the bottom of the sensor with
screws
- Next, do a program for arduino so that the sensor can detect the type of waste
that is determined and the motor can move according to the type of waste being
disposed of
- After that, connect arduino and servo motors with adapter using jumper cable, use
solder to connect them
- Then, plug the adapter into the power outlet
- After that, thoroughly test the system to make sure all components are function
properly
- Finally, automatic sorting bin ready to use
The reason for making this product is
because there are still many students who
are lazy to sort waste according to its
[Link] this product also has
advantages and disadvantages, the
advantages are better waste management,
and the disadvantages are expensive
operational costs
