Erecting scaffolding
Fill in the holes and level the area. Nail the base plates to the mudsills. Slide the frames onto the jacks.
Adjust the jacks. Use coupling pins and locking pins to join the frames. Attach the braces. Fit the
planking. Attach the guardrails. Attach the ladder. Inspect the scaffolding.

REMEMBER: Don’t climb the scaffolding. Use the ladder. Don’t use bricks to level the frames. Use the
mudsill. Don’t forget to use locking pins.

C. Write an accident report to the site manager. (There are 30%)


You are the site supervisor and your name is Harry Kyle, and the site manager name Samuel
Rodriguez. The incident occurred in May the 15th, andthese were the problems: four accidents in the
site; Ahmed cuthis finger and needed stitches; Mickibrokehis arm; Kim burnedhis hand; and (5) Anna
fellin a hole and had to go to hospital.

On the 15th of the fifth month we were at the construction camp. I, as a supervisor, observing how the
technicians pour concrete using buckets to lift it upstairs. While they were continuing to work hard, one
of the scaffolding opened and caused an accident of four people. Mick who was upstairs receiving
concrete, fell and broke his arm, Ahmed fell on sharp piece of metal and cut his finger . near the building
there were electric wires, a worker Kim was running to save his life when he to a fire caused by electricity
at that time because fire extinguishers were ready to put it out. Unknowingly, Anna had too fallen into a
deep hole dug for a toilet construction; she was rescued and taken to hospital. Manager Samuel Rodriguez
came took all the injured and took them to hospital. Ahmed needed surgery, and Micki needed an
examination of his leg. In fact, the situation was not good at all because we were all afraid that there
would be
