Cortez Led an expedition of 500 Spaniards against the Aztec empire of 1 million. He conquered the capital, Tenochtitlan, and took control of all of Mexico Conquistadores Spanish for Conqueror. Spanish Men that were promised land by the King of Spain if they conquered the Indians in the new world Montezuma The Spanish claimed for themselves the whole of the New World, except for a piece of it (todays Brazil) Tordesillas Montezuma was the powerful emperor of the Aztecs in Spains way.
