Technical Data Sheet
Divinol Lithogrease 7000

Application
Divinol Lithogrease 7000 is suitable for the lubrication of roller and slide bearings with a high mechanical and
thermal load. Due to its excellent EP properties this grease is mainly used in working units and machines where very
high bearing pressures occur. Fields for application are e. g. bearings with strong loads in galvanizing and automatic
packing units or the lubrication of rollers in steel and rolling mills.

Compared to conventional lithium soap based greases Divinol Lithogrease 7000 is suitable for high temperature
ranges. When using Divinol Lithogrease 7000 longer lifetimes can be achieved, thus longer post lubrication
intervals which results in lower consumption of grease.

Common questions

Powered by AI

Divinol Lithogrease 7000 is suitable for high-temperature applications due to its thickening agent, lithium complex soap, which is known for stability under thermal stress, and its base oil viscosity of 500 mm²/s at 40°C . The grease has a high dropping point of 240°C, indicating resilience to high temperatures before it starts to melt . Moreover, it offers excellent wear protection and has oxidation-resistant properties, which prevent degradation of the grease at elevated temperatures . These features make it capable of effective performance in high temperature ranges, such as in roller and slide bearings under mechanical and thermal load .

Divinol Lithogrease 7000 outperforms conventional lithium soap-based greases mainly due to its formulation with lithium complex soap and the inclusion of PTFE, which provides superior thermal stability, wear protection, and reduced friction . It operates efficiently under higher mechanical loads and elevated temperatures, with a range of -20°C to +150°C, compared to many traditional greases that have lower thermal limits and might separate under heat . The high VKA welding load of 7000 N also indicates a higher capacity for withstanding extreme pressures without breaking down . Consequently, it results in longer lubricant life and reduced consumption due to extended re-lubrication intervals .

Divinol Lithogrease 7000 has an oil separation rate of 2.0% according to DIN 51 817, which is relatively low, indicating that the grease retains its consistency over time without releasing excessive oil . This low separation rate minimizes the risk of leakage and ensures consistent lubrication, thereby reducing the need for frequent reapplication and maintenance interventions . It also helps in maintaining a clean working environment, as excess oil can attract dust and debris, complicating maintenance processes . The stable formulation implies extended service intervals and enhanced equipment reliability in industrial settings .

PTFE, incorporated into Divinol Lithogrease 7000, acts as a solid lubricant, reducing friction between moving parts, which minimizes wear and improves efficiency . Its inclusion enhances the grease's thermal stability and chemical inertness, contributing to excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance. These properties are essential in industrial applications where machinery operates under continuous load and in environments where conventional greases might degrade rapidly . This makes PTFE a critical component for enhancing the overall performance and longevity of the grease in high-stress applications .

Divinol Lithogrease 7000 offers excellent wear protection in high-pressure applications due to its formulation containing PTFE and a high VKA welding load of 7000 N, which indicates extreme pressure (EP) capabilities . The PTFE reduces friction, leading to less wear on mechanical parts, while the robust pressure tolerance ensures that the grease maintains its protective layer even under significant mechanical stress . These properties are essential in high-load environments, such as in rolling mills, where equipment is subjected to strong mechanical forces that conventional greases may not withstand .

The water resistance of Divinol Lithogrease 7000, evaluated at level 1 according to DIN 51 807/T1, ensures that the grease maintains its consistency and effectiveness in environments where it may be exposed to moisture . This feature is crucial for maintaining lubrication and preventing corrosion in applications involving moisture or water exposure, thereby extending the lifespan of bearings and reducing maintenance intervals in environments such as galvanizing and packing units .

Divinol Lithogrease 7000's oxidation resistance, measured at only 0.2 bar after 100 hours at 100°C, ensures that the grease maintains its chemical stability and lubrication properties over time, even when subjected to high temperatures and loads . This resistance to oxidation prevents the formation of sludge and acids that could impair the lubrication quality and potentially damage machinery. In high-load applications, such as those in steel and rolling mills, stable performance under heat is critical to maintain efficiency and protect equipment from premature wear .

The lithium complex soap used as a thickening agent in Divinol Lithogrease 7000 significantly impacts its operational temperature range of -20°C to +150°C. Lithium complex greases are known for their high melting points and capacity to operate at elevated temperatures without significant softening . This allows the grease to maintain its structural integrity and ensure effective lubrication across the specified temperature range . Additionally, the robustness of lithium complex agents provides enhanced water and oxidation resistance, further extending the grease's viability under adverse conditions .

The EMCOR-test result of 0/0 indicates that Divinol Lithogrease 7000 provides excellent corrosion protection. This test evaluates the corrosion impact on metal surfaces, and a 0/0 rating suggests minimal or no corrosion under test conditions, showcasing the grease's ability to protect metal surfaces from rust and oxidation in harsh environments . This property is particularly vital for applications in industries like steel and rolling mills, where equipment is susceptible to corrosion from moisture and other environmental factors .

The base oil viscosity of Divinol Lithogrease 7000, measured at 500 mm²/s at 40°C, influences its performance by ensuring a consistent film thickness between moving parts . This viscosity level is tailored to provide a balance between fluid flow and film strength, crucial for minimizing wear and maximizing load-carrying capacity in demanding applications . The high viscosity also helps in maintaining lubrication under varying mechanical and thermal loads, making it especially effective in applications involving heavy machinery and high-speed components .
