MAINS FUSES
Each item of Esthetix equipment is protected by one or more mains fuses. If the
equipment fails to operate, first check the fuses and replace where necessary with fuses
of a similar design and rating. With the exception of the electric couches where a fused
mains plug is used, the fuse carriers are located at the rear of the equipment (or on the
arm in the case of the magnifier lamp) and must be unscrewed or slid out to remove the
fuse. Please ensure that the mains plug is removed from the socket before carrying out
fuse replacement

clients,
= The combination of both Microcurrent and Kotx currents offer optimum results to
improve the condition and strength of the tissues and muscles. In addition to this
Metabolic processes throughout the cells are stimulated and there is a visual
provement in the appearance of the skin and body contour.
1, eb ever v7 HEF eSTAP BNO Page 6How Multigenius works on the muscles and body
The Multigenius offers a combination of two electrical currents in two different wave forms,
Currents - Microcurrent and Kotz current.
rocurrent
+ Microcurrent originates from a traditional Faradic current. It is applied in microamps
(1/1000 of a milliamp) whereas traditional Faradic current is applied in milliamps (1/1000
of an amp). It is modified direct current applied at a low intensity.
+ Microcurrent has a lower intensity than traditional faradic applied in milliamps, it is more
comfortable to the client and is proven to be far more biologically compatible with
our body tissues and cells that traditional Faradic current.
* The low intensity of microcurrent is absorbed into the cells and stimulates the functions
of the cells. All the cell processes are boosted thus making the cell healthier. The cells of
the skin, muscle spindles and tendons respond easily to microcurrent. The The degree of
tension within the muscles fibres will improve and balance. This is due to the
microcurrent working on the Golgi organs within the muscles to tighten slack muscle
fibres and stretch tight muscle fibres.
= Healthy cells make healthy tissues, cell repair is improved and cells are stronger to fight,
free radicals, excess toxins trapped between cells are also eliminated
= The level of ATP (Adenosine triposphate) in the cell is increased between 3 —5 times
when microcurrent is applied to the body. ATP is made in the cell and is responsible for
moving nutrients into the cell and waste products out of the cell. increased levels of ATP
contribute to the improved function and condition of the cells.
+ Healthy cells take up less space, they create a denser, stronger tissue, the skin and the
muscles consist of these cells.
+ Microcurrent is not irritating to the sensory nerve endings therefore only a slight pulsing
is felt by the client, a muscle contraction is not visible.
[4 ison 8 Co id 49 Seyi ond, eal Covet CW” SEF EST799 0704 Page 7Kotz Current
* Kotz current is generated at a very high frequency. It is an alternating current of up to
2500Hz (cycles per second).
* The skin has a very low resistance to this current therefore it is able to produce a deep
action in the muscles and still be very comfortable to the client.
= Kotz current has an excellent effect on increasing metabolism of the cells of the skin and
muscles.
= Kotz current increases the blood and lymphatic circulation in the area being treated to
increase the level of nutrients brought into the cells and help remove the residue of
Lactic acid from the cells
* Kotz current is very effective for muscle strengthening,
* Kotz current generates a deep effect on muscle tension and creates a very comfortable
deep pulsing sensation in the muscles.
= Kotz current can be referred to as a Sinusoidal current.
+ The two currents are used both independently and together throughout the
programmes to produce a variety of effects.
Summary
Microcurrent boosts cell metabolism, helps to eliminate cellulite and gives a lifting,
contouring effect to the face and body.
Kotz current increases cell metabolism, blood and lymph circulation, is responsible for muscle
strengthening, body conditioning and helps to eliminate cellulite.
eA etc fev ory OFF cas 4 Page 8Wave Forms
Microcurrent produces a Quadrant waveform.
This waveform is constant for a longer period than the Sine waveform below. The muscles
fibres are held in a degree of tension for a short period of time at the highest point of
intensity. This gives the microcurrent time to pass into the cells without stimulates the sensory
nerve endings.
Kotz current produces a Sine waveform.
This waveform rises and falls more gradually than the Quadrant waveform above. Here the
current slowly rises and as soon as it reaches its peak it begins to fall. This causes a deep
action with very little sensation to the client.

Courses of Treatments
Clients should be advised to book for a course of 12 treatments to maximise the results of the
‘treatment.
For slimming treatments, we advise to measure the client prior to the first treatment and at
regular intervals throughout the 12 week course.
As additional course of 6 or 12 treatments may be taken straight after the first course if
required,
‘On completion of 2 successive courses of treatment the client should then move onto
maintenance treatments.
We would advise maintenance treatments to be carried out every two to four weeks. This will
depend upon each clients individual needs.

+ Always check for contra indications prior to treatment.
‘© Always reassure the client that only a slight sensation is required. The treatment will still be
effective. Keep current intensity low.
‘* Always recommend course of 12 treatments to intensify effects.
‘* Asecond course may be required with individual clients depending on their needs
* Treatments must be given at least twice wit
treatments can be given every other days.
in seven days to achieve expected results,
«Its advisable to adhere to the minutes recommended for each programme to achieve the
best results
‘* Itis wise to study the treatment programmes and plan a progression route for your client
to maximise the treatment effects.
* Maintenance programmes are recommended once a course of treatments have achieved
the desired effects. These can vary between every two to four week depending on the
individual client.
* Clients may be measured prior to and after programmes 27 ~ 48 when inch/em loss may
occur,
‘© Clients should be advised NOT to work out at the gym or at a strenuous exercise class the
same day as treatment is given
EA tluan 8 Ce id 2 Baio Rd eal Covet COT SEF_—_ESTIB O74 Page 21Care of the Machine, Electrodes and Cables
The machine must only be cleaned with a non abrasive, non alcohol cleaner.
«Always place your machine on a stable surface and ensure all leads and cables are not
stretched or drape over the working area.
Cables and leads should never be knotted or tied together as this will break the wires
inside.
+ Always wipe over the rubber electrodes after each use to ensure they are clean for the next
client. Do not immerse them in alcohol or a sterilising solution. Anti bacterial cleanser will
lean off dead skin cells, oils and perspiration
© Over a period of time the rubber electrodes may wear and loose their conductivity. At this
point you will need to replace these electrodes.
‘The sticky electrodes are designed to be disposable offering you optimum hygiene
conditions. However, it may be preferred to keep the pads used on individual clients for
their treatments only. Label the pads and place in a bag so they are used only on this one
client. These electrodes will loose their conductivity as they loose their sticky surface. On
average they last approximately four treatments.
‘*¢ Itis not advisable to use the same pads on different clients as this will cause
contamination from one client to another.
