HSC Selection Process

The Combined Competitive Examination will be held in the following successive


stages.

(i) Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) - 2 Paper - 200 Marks Total


(ii) Main Examination (Descriptive Type) - 5 Papers - 600 Marks Total
(iii) Personality and viva-voce Examination - 75 marks

1 – The exam will be Offline Objective Type.


2 – There will be 2 papers in HPSC HCS Pre Exam.
3 – Each Question Paper will consist 100 Questions.
4 – 1st Paper Will be of General Studies
5 – 2nd Paper is called HCS CSAT.
6 – Each question carries 01 Marks So paper will be of total 100 marks each.(Total 200)
7 – Time duration of exam will be given 02 Hours for Each paper.
8 – Negative Marking will be of 1/4 Marks.
9 – Candidate who qualified written exam will be called for Mains Exam.
HPSC HCS Pre Syllabus For General Studies

A - General Science: Including knowledge on concepts of Physics, Chemistry and


Biology.
B - Current Affairs: Recent happenings in India and the World.
C - History of India & Indian National Movement
D - Indian and World Geography
E - Indian Polity and Economy: Constitution of India and Economic development in the
country, basic concepts of Economics.
F - General Mental Ability: testing reasoning and analytical abilities.
G - Haryana- Social, economic and cultural institutions, Economy and people; and
language of Haryana.

HCS CSAT Syllabus

1 - Reading comprehension
2 - Decision-making and problem solving
3 - Interpersonal skills, including communication skills
4 - Logical reasoning and analytical ability
5 - General mental ability
6 - Basic numeracy (Class 10 level)
7 - Data interpretation (Class 10 level)
