Question 4
Memories Forever Trading is a business selling souvenirs. The following transactions took place
in the month of September 20x7.
Date Transactions
September 1 Owner invested cash into the business bank account RM100,000
September 3 Purchased a motor van from Lim Motors costing RM70,000. Deposit of
RM 10,000 was paid by cheque and the balance to be paid by installment
starting from next month
September 6 Received invoices from Amir RM8,000 and Harriz RM3,000 for goods
purchased
September 8 Sold goods on credit to Zulaikha RM4.800 and Khaira RM3,600
September 15 Issued a debit note for damaged goods returned to Harriz RM600
September 20 Received a cheque from Pelangi Berhad for investment income of
RM15,000
September 23 Paid RM1,200 toTenaga Nasional Berhad for electricity expense
September 26 Received a cheque for cash sales amounting to RM10,000
September 29 The owner withdrew goods worth RM340 for personal use
Required:
A Record the above transactions in the relevant ledger accounts.
B Balance off the accounts.
C Prepare a trial balance as at 30 September 20x7

The following are transactions relating to Asia Rempah Ratus.

March 1 Started business and invested cash RM25,000 to the business.
4 Deposited RM 15,000 cash into business bank account.
13 Purchased fixtures and fittings amounting to RM7.500 by cheque.
14 The owner took some goods worth RM 3,500 from business for his personal use.
15 Received purchase invoice amounting to RM 14,000 on credit from Tanjung Sdn
Bhd.
20 Sold goods to Miney Sdn Bhd amounting to RM9.500 and received the cheque
immediately,
31 Returned goods previously purchased on credit amounting RM600.
Required:
A. Record the above transactions in the relevant ledger accounts.
B. Balance off the accounts.
C. Prepare a trial balance as at 31 March 20x7
Question 8
Encik Kamal, a sole proprietor, started his trading business on 1 March 20x9. You are required
to record the transactions below:
March
1 Encik Kamal contributes RM60,000 cash to start the business.
2 Opened a business current account at Standard Chartered Bank and banked in RM58,000 cash.
3 En. Kamal brought his van and a computer worth RM80.000 and RM5,000 respectively into
the business.
4 Purchased office equipment RM 12,000 from Yayasan Pengguna Sdn Bhd and paid half the
amount by cheque and the other half is still owing.
5 Standard Chartered Bank approved a loan for RM40,000 and directly credited the amount into
the business bank account.
7 Purchased some goods amounting to RM7,000 and paid by cheque.
9 Erlane, a customer, bought some goods worth RM5,000 and paid cash RM3,000. The balance
will be paid next month.
12 En. Kamal took some goods worth RM900 to give to the charity club and cash RM 1,000 for
his personal used.
15 Paid the amount owing to Yayasan Pengguna Sdn Bhd in full by cheque.
