ASSIGNMENT MATHEMATICS CLASS 10

1. Prove that √2 + √3 is an irrational number.

2. Find the smallest positive integer 'n' for which √n is a rational number.

3. Factorize the polynomial completely: x⁴ - 5x³ + 6x² + 4x - 8.

4. Solve for 'x' in the equation: 2x³ + 3x² - 5x - 6 = 0.

5. Solve the system of equations for x and y:

3x + 2y = 11

2x - 3y = 1

6. A total of 28 pencils and erasers cost ₹70. Pencils cost ₹2 each, and
erasers cost ₹5 each. Find the number of pencils and erasers.

7. Find the values of 'k' for which the equation 2x² - 3kx + 1 = 0 has no real
roots.

8. Solve the quadratic equation: (4x² - 3x) ² = 9x² - 2x - 3.

9. In an AP, the sum of the first 'n' terms is 20n - 5n². Find the first term (a) and
the common difference (d).

10. If the 12ᵗʰ term (T₁₂) of an AP is three times the 4ᵗʰ term (T₄), find the
common difference (d).

11. In ΔABC, ∠A = 60°, ∠B = 75°, and BC = 6 cm. Calculate the length of AB

using the Law of Sines.
ASSIGNMENT MATHEMATICS CLASS 10

12. Prove the Pythagorean Theorem using any method of your choice.

13. Determine the equation of the circle with centre (3, -4) and passing
through the point (1, 2).

14. Given a line with equation 2x - 3y = 6, find the equation of the line parallel
to it and passing through the point (4, -1).
