In this position I worked with families in my area to connect them with resources, to assist in family stabilization,
and to reduce risk and to ensure child safety. My duties included but were not limited to, engaging in home visits

For child protective services, I currently supervise a unit of five caseworkers and two supportive administrative
staff. I complete administrative tasks such as running and analyzing reports, managing time and travel, managing

At Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. I work with behavioral health
patients admitted in crisis and our goal is stabilization so that the patient can move to the next appropriate level of
care. The role of the BHCS is to explore discharge options with the assigned patients and facilitate discharge by
arranging services, transportation, referrals and appointments as is appropriate. This position works collaboratively
with the treatment team which consists of providers, nurses, therapy staff, recreational therapists, psych techs, the
patient and/or support system of the patient.

INTERNSHIP:
Internship as the Lead Crisis Counselor with Pima County Attorney’s Office

As a member of the county’s Victim Services Division I counseled victims of violent crimes of all ages and worked
to provide them with varying assistance such as shelter placement, death notification, transportation, safety
planning, victim’s compensation, and available resources. The crimes this entailed included include domestic
violence, sexual assault, assault, child abuse, suicide, and DOA’s. The location’s where counseling took place
included at the scene of the crime, initial appearances at the county jail, and hospitals. At the completion of my
internship I had completed 565 hours of service.

Dr. Warren and associates conducted a research study that tested if the BRAINS assessment conclusions from Basic
Law Enforcement Training students could predict characteristics that are common in long term law enforcement
officers. As an assistant, I called BLET directors’ to introduce the research, gain their school’s participation, and
created pivot charts of the data.

Clinical Internship at Crossnore Communities for Children

As a clinical intern I provide individual, family, and group therapy services to children and adolescents who were a
part of the residential or community populations. I have attended various training’s on the sanctuary model, trauma
informed care, various diagnosis pertinent to children, and for therapy modalities such as play therapy. I also
conduct assessments and practice timely documentation.

VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:

Foster Care Childcare Worker for RISE in Tucson, AZ February 2013 to August 2013
Once a month I watched foster care children while their foster parents attend group events/training courses. While
under our care the children received a meal, outside play, and group play time.

Symposium Teen/Child Event Planner for the Arthritis Foundation November 2012 to April 2013
I worked with my fellow committee members to plan that year’s symposium event, where the goal was to create an
event that would educate families about auto immune diseases in children, and improve their ability to cope with it
in a family setting.

Emergency Department Volunteer April 2015 to August 2016


In this position, at Wake Forest Baptist Health I transported patients, directed family members to patient rooms, and
provided patients with essential needs such as water, ice, blankets, tissues, and nausea bags. I also assisted staff with
the delivery of lab specimens, patient belongings, and other items. While in this role I also participated in special
tasks, such as assisting the instruction of medical students by playing the role of a trauma patient.
