CERTIFICATE PERFORMA: [double line spacing using Times New Roman

font size 12] Heading “Certificate” should be Times New Roman font size 14 bold
in the center should start about 60mm -70mm from the top of the page.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
Page Dimensions, Margins and Quality
• The page dimensions of the final copies of the thesis should be 290mm x 205mm.
Standard A4 size (297mm x 210mm) paper may be used for preparing the copies. It
should have the following page margins:

Top edge : 1 inch

Bottom edge : 1 inch
Left side : 1.5 inch
Right side : 1 inch
 The thesis should be prepared on good quality white paper preferably not lower than
75 gsm(Gram per square meter).
 A sub-heading at the bottom of a page must have at least two full lines below it or
else it should be carried over to the next page.
• 1.5 spacing should be used for typing the general text from chapter 1. The general text
shall be typed in font Style Times New Roman and Font Size 12. MAIN HEADING:
Font size 14. Sub Heading : Font size 12

 All page numbers (whether Roman or Arabic) should be typed without punctuation in
the center of the page 20mm above from the bottom.
1.1 CHAPTERS: Chapters of a thesis may be broadly divided into 5 parts:
(i) INTRODUCTION (ii) IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM AND ISSUES
(iii) FORMULATION (iv) IMPLEMENTATION AND SOLUTION APPROACH
(v) RESULT DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS
• Each part may be suitably divided into several chapters, and a chapter may be
further divided into several sections and sub-sections, sub-sub-sections. • Each
chapter should be given an appropriate title
1.1.1 Tables and Figures: in a chapter should be typed in title mode in single space
in Time New Roman with font size 10. The titles of tables should be placed directly
above the table whereas the titles of figures should be placed directly underneath the
figure in the very same page which refers to the contents they annotate.
• Footnotes should be used sparingly. They should be typed single space and placed
directly underneath in the very same page which refers to the material they annotate.
Tables and figures : All other non-verbal material used in the body of the thesis and
appendices such as charts, graphs, maps, photographs and diagrams may be
designated as figures. A proper representation of a table or a figure and its placement
immensely adds to the ability to comprehend the work. Here are few suggestive guide
lines in this regard which, of course, in no way substitute the ingenuity and creativity
of an author.
 A table or figure including its caption should be accommodated within the
prescribed margin limits and should appear on the page where its reference is
made or on the page following the page in case it is not possible to place it on
the same page.
 Table and figures on half or less in length should necessarily appear on the
same page along with the text. However, they should be separated from the text
both above and below by double spacing.
 All tables and figures should be prepared on the same paper or material used for
the preparation of the rest of the thesis. Captions of table/figures may use
characters, numerals or symbols in the title mode.
 Two or more small tables or figures may be grouped if necessary on a single
page. Wherever possible, the entire colour photographs(s) may be reproduced
on a full sheet of photographic paper.
 More than one photograph can be included on a page. Samples of fabric,
leather, etc., if absolutely necessary may be attached evenly in a page and fixed/
pasted suitably and should be treated as figures.

INTRODUCTION

1.1 OUTLINE OF TRAINING

This training report proposes the optimal designing of fuzzy controller for speed
control of Induction motor fed by wind turbine. Induction motor has a simple structure
and robust performance in a wide range of operating conditions.

1.2 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CONTROL

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines or software.

It is an academic field of study which generally studies the goal of emulating human-
like intelligence, though other variations. Warren McCulloch and Walter Pitts (1943)
created a computational model for neural networks based on mathematics and
algorithms. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines or
software.

1.2.1 Fuzzy Control

Fuzzy control is a methodology to represent and implement a (smart) human’s
knowledge about how to control a system.

Fig1.1: Block Diagram of Fuzzy logic controller

Fuzzy sets are sets whose elements have degrees of membership.

1.2.2 Clarke transformation
When balanced 3-phase fixed windings and 2-phase symmetry windings bring
rotating magnetic field Φ value and speed are equality, the 3-phase windings equivalent
with 2-phase windings. Clarke transform is converts balanced 3-phase (ia, ib, ic) into
balanced 2-phase
(iα, iβ)

Placing titles of tables above and titles of figures below the respective visual elements is significant as it maintains a standard convention that enhances clarity and consistency throughout the thesis. This layout helps the reader quickly identify the type of visual element they are examining, whether it is a table or a figure. Adhering to this standard also facilitates easier formatting checks and ensures that the thesis meets academic and professional presentation norms .

The manuscript preparation guidelines ensure clarity and professionalism by specifying page dimensions, margins, font styles, and sizes, as well as the layout of tables, figures, and text. For example, using Times New Roman font size 12 for general text and specifying spacing ensures that the report is readable and consistent in appearance. By maintaining uniformity in the preparation, such as having 1.5 spacing for text and guidelines for the use of tables and figures, the document appears professional and easily comprehensible. These guidelines help in avoiding clutter and maintaining an organized presentation of the thesis .

The Clarke transformation plays a crucial role in optimizing the design of a fuzzy controller for induction motors by transforming three-phase current values into two-phase equivalents. This simplification is significant because it converts the system into a more manageable form for the control algorithms. The balanced 3-phase to 2-phase conversion helps in maintaining power invariance and assists in the effective calculation of speed and magnetic field variables, which are essential inputs for the fuzzy logic controller to make decisions on the motor's speed regulation .

Using high-quality paper in the preparation of a thesis report impacts its durability, presentation quality, and perceived professionalism. Good quality paper, such as that which is at least 75 gsm, ensures the printed content is legible and the document is robust enough to withstand handling, which is critical for reports that require longevity for future reference. This enhances the overall appearance and credibility of the report, reflecting well on the student and institution .

Separating tables and figures by double spacing from the text is important because it enhances the readability and aesthetic appeal of the thesis. This spacing visually delineates these elements from the main text, helping the reader distinguish between the narrative components and data visualizations. This clear separation ensures that figures and tables do not interrupt the flow of text, making it easier for readers to analyze and interpret data representations as distinct elements within the report .

Including a company's history and current profile in an industrial training report is crucial as it provides context to the training experience and situates the student’s work within the operational framework of the company. It demonstrates the alignment between the company's objectives and the student’s training activities. This background information allows evaluators to assess the relevance and application of the knowledge and skills acquired during training vis-a-vis significant organizational aspects, enhancing the perceived value and credibility of the work presented .

Adherence to formatting and presentation guidelines enhances the effectiveness of an industrial training report by ensuring clarity, readability, and professionalism. It helps in organizing the content systematically, making it easier for readers to follow the development of ideas and arguments. This organization facilitates efficient evaluation and comprehension, ensuring that the key insights and conclusions are easily accessible. Consistent formatting also reflects the student's attention to detail and their ability to adhere to academic standards, which adds to the credibility and impact of the report .

The guidelines prescribed for page layout, such as specific margin sizes and page dimensions, contribute to standardization by ensuring that all thesis reports conform to a uniform appearance, enhancing professionalism and comparability. Standardized page layout facilitates ease of reproduction and distribution, and ensures that all reports are easily navigable and readable, regardless of the reader's prior experience with such documents. This uniformity is essential for maintaining the academic integrity and credibility of the institution's outputs .

The essential structural elements of an industrial training report include a Cover Page/Title Page, Training Certificate, Company/Organization History & Current Profile Details, Abstract & Acknowledgements, Table of Contents, List of Tables, List of Figures, List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature, the main body of Chapters, References, and Appendices. These elements are significant because they ensure that the report systematically presents the student's work in a way that is comprehensible and academically rigorous. A well-structured report facilitates easy navigation, ensures all necessary information is included, and verifies the authenticity and originality of the work through certifications and references .

Fuzzy control offers several benefits in speed regulation of induction motors, including its ability to handle uncertainties and approximate human reasoning, which provides a robust performance across various operating conditions. The flexibility in handling non-linear systems allows for efficient speed control. However, potential drawbacks include the complexity of designing the fuzzy logic controller and the difficulty in determining optimal membership functions and rules for all operating situations, which may lead to suboptimal performance if improperly configured .
