Volcanic Eruption Safety Skit

The group presents a skit about the hazards of a volcanic eruption near a town. As the long-dormant volcano erupts, it sends ash and debris over the area. The characters discuss safety measures like wearing masks and evacuating. During their evacuation, one character is injured. They use a first aid kit to treat the injury and complete the evacuation. Script: Science PT Group 4 6-St Justin

Marqkuze: The group 4 presents a skit about safety measures and hazards during and after a volcanic eruption.

Section 1:
Marqkuze: There was a town that was near a volcano, the volcano was considered dormant since it hadn't erupted in
more than 10,000 years, little did the people know that it will erupt once again and might cause hazards like lava flow,
lahar, Ashfall, pyroclastic flows and release volcanic gases into the atmosphere.

Therese: Today seems odd, don't you think?

Steven: Yes, I think that too, the birds are acting quite weird today.

Therese: Wait, do you hear something?

Marqkuze: They then heard a rumbling sound, they both then looked at the volcano and saw it spewing out ash.

Therese: Oh my, the volcano is erupting!

Marqkuze: As the volcano erupted ash started coming to the town. Lucas: Everyone, wear your masks there will be
ashfall!

Steven: But I don't have a Mask!

Lucas: Grab a cloth and wet it with water so it will be damp and use it to cover your mouth and nose.

Section 2:
Marqkuze: The people in the town fled in terror, others went to their houses and some evacuated the town.

Dominique: What am I going to do, I know! I'll turn the radio on so that I can get advice on what to do.

Marakuze: This Thursday on May 4 2033 Mt. Nether erupted and sent havoc to the town of Vulcan. If you are in the
Northern part of Vulcan immediately evacuate the area since it is a low-lying area and it is near the Volcano, if you are in
the southern part of Vulcan Stay in a building and seal all entrances so that the ash will not be able to come in. Follow
these safety measures to keep yourself from danger.

Section 3:
Steven: Guys, we need to evacuate.

Lucas: Yeah, if we don't evacuate now the lava might catch up to us or we might suffocate in the ash

Therese: We need to bring my emergency kit just in case one of us gets hurt.

Marqkuze: As they went to get Therese's emergency kit, they heard an explosion from the volcano.

Steven: What was that!?

Therese: I'll check outside to see what happened. Guys, there are debris and rock falling! We need to go now!

Marqkuze. As they were running through the street Steven tripped on a piece of debris

Steven Ouch, my leg, it hurts!

Therese: Steven, are you okay!

Lucas: Therese, you have a 1st aid kit in your emergency kit, right?
Therese: of course, an emergency kit isn't complete without a 1st aid kit.

Marqkuze: Therese then bandaged up Steven's wound. They then ran to the evacuation center. And after a few days the
volcanic eruption calmed down but was still releasing ash and a small amount of lava.

Dominique: The eruption finally stopped! But I now have to clear out the ash on my roof…
