1.2 Common Conventions

The following conventions are used hereafter: CONVENTION SEMANTICS Light grey is used to highlight items that are conditionally instantiated (for packages) or are conditionally present (e.g. for attributes). Dark grey is used to highlight items that are never instantiated (for packages), never present (e.g. for attributes), not supported or not applicable The semantics of the column applies to the associated item. When the column contains nothing (i.e. not even another symbol like C), this means that the semantics of the column does not apply to the associated item. For example, in the column instantiated of a PACKAGES table, means that the associated package is instantiated. nothing in the column means that the associated package is never instantiated. 1.3 Configuration Parameters

There are two configuration parameters whose values is assigned at A1353-RA installation time (from a NMC viewpoint). The following table indicates how these parameters are denoted hereafter and their description: NOTATION DESCRIPTION STD_SYSTEM_BOI Configuration parameter specific to the NMC/A1353-RA Q3 interface. When it is equal to '0' (which is its default value), the behaviour of GET/SET and DELETE requests with BOI <syst_Id> or <syst_Id>.log are as close as possible to the behaviour in B7. Otherwise, their behaviour is different in that it is closer to standards. ALARM_ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Configuration parameter specific to the NMC/A1353-RA Q3 interface. When it is equal to '0' (which is its default value), none of the peculiarities introduced in B9 to support alarm acknowledgement is accurate. Otherwise, alarm acknowledgement is supported (with the associated peculiarities specified hereafter). Table 3: Configuration Parameters

There are a number of problems concerning the NMC/A1353 RA Q3 Interface (most of them due to third party products) that are known but not yet solved at the time of this writing: Reference: <Pb 01> Description: For the "ANOI":anoiPlmnNetwork MOI and all MOIs named under it, an M-SET request at the NMC/A1353 RA Q3 Interface is denied with an accessDenied error. In particular, whenever an M-SET request is valid from a GDMO viewpoint but in restriction at that interface, the accessDenied error is returned instead of setListError/accessDenied as intended. Reference: <Pb 02> Description: For the "ANOI":anoiPlmnNetwork MOI and all MOIs named under it, when a request is to be rejected due to multiple error causes, only one error is reported. The perceived corresponding priority order is as follows: 1) invalidScope 2) invalidFilter 3) noSuchObjectInstance 4) classInstanceConflict Reference: <Pb 03> Description: For the "X.721":system MOI, the "X.721":nameBinding attribute contains an OID corresponding to the following registration arc: { joint-iso-ccitt ms (9) smi (3) part2 (2) nameBinding (6) 4 } instead of the OID of "ANOI":anoi-system-root.
