Finite automata manage states as floors in the elevator control system, with transitions representing the movement from one floor (state) to another based on user inputs. Input symbols correspond to user requests for upward or downward movement, dictating elevator operations as per defined transitions. The automaton handles state transitions by considering current positions and target inputs dynamically, ensuring controlled and systematic reach to destination floors without requiring memory of past movements .

The integration of technology into elevators has evolved from basic manual and hydraulic systems to sophisticated digital controls. Initially powered by steam or hydraulic pistons, elevators have transitioned to electric motor systems and now incorporate advanced algorithms, like the elevator algorithm used in computer systems for efficient scheduling. The current development integrates Android applications and finite automata for user-centric control, enhancing security, efficiency, and user-friendliness through digital interfaces. This evolution highlights a trend towards personalization and integration with everyday technology .

The proposed elevator system utilizes finite automata by considering each floor as a state within the automaton. The electronic elevators can be controlled via an Android application, allowing users to select their desired floor, which becomes a destination state within the automaton. This system ensures the transition between states (floors) using inputs that represent user requests, and outputs as destination acknowledgments. The finite automaton framework helps automate and standardize the elevator’s decision-making, thus allowing efficient movement between floors by considering only current position, not past trajectory .

Finite automata contribute to the security and efficiency of the elevator system by defining floors as states in an automaton model. Transitions between these states are controlled by user inputs (authorized requests), ensuring that only valid movements occur, thus preventing unauthorized access. This structured approach allows the system to automatically and efficiently direct the elevator based on user login credentials and selected floors, optimizing the route and enhancing security through controlled access .

The main security features include user accounts requiring a username and password for elevator access. Only authorized users with pre-existing accounts can use the elevator, and new accounts can only be created by authorized personnel with an authority password. This system prevents unauthorized or stranger access, providing secure elevator usage specifically to tenants or employees expected to use the system .

The elevator algorithm, originally simple in design, adapts to control stopping sequences based on user requests and current positions in traditional systems. Modern elevators, however, utilize more complex heuristic algorithms that build on the elevator algorithm to handle multiple requests concurrently, optimizing service efficiency by predicting request patterns. The adaptation allows modern systems to manage dynamic scheduling similar to those in computer disk scheduling, improving response time and passenger satisfaction by evolving from preset instructions to responsive, user-driven algorithms .

Android components such as SQLite for database management, user interface elements developed through XML, and backend processing using Java significantly enhance the elevator control system. These components facilitate the creation of a user-friendly application that handles login processes, user inputs for destination selection, and secure authentication. User experience is improved by offering seamless navigation, personalized settings for routine floor access, and reliable account management secured by authority passwords, thus creating a robust, efficient interface for elevator operation .

User accounts in the elevator control system play a crucial role in facilitating secure user interactions. They require authentication via username and password, ensuring that only authorized individuals can access elevator services. This setup influences user interaction by allowing them to select routine or destination floors through a personalized account system, enhancing security by preventing unauthorized access and providing a tailored user experience with readily available preferences and options .

Android Studio plays a pivotal role in developing the elevator control application by providing an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) specifically for Android apps. It helps develop the user interface through XML files and manages backend operations using Java. Android Studio offers features such as instant run for quick compilation, testing tools, and connectivity options with databases like SQLite and Firebase, ensuring efficient and user-friendly application development .

Advancements highlighted include the transition from steam and hydraulic engines to electrical systems, development of digital interfaces with applications on Android platforms, and integration of finite automata for systematic control. These improvements enhance user convenience by allowing personalized, secure access through mobile applications and efficient navigation between floors. System efficiency is improved by optimized scheduling algorithms that process user requests faster, ensuring that elevators operate more smoothly and with fewer delays .
