Name of the School Observed: Philippine Best TrainingSystem
Location of the School Macamot, Binangonan, Rizal
Date of visit: February 14, 2022
My first day of observation in Philippines Best Training Systems
Colleges, Inc was completely in mixed emotions, I feel happy, excited and at
the same time I feel nervous as it is in an online platform of teaching and
observation. As I observed, I saw the interaction between the teacher and the
students, I right away saw the cooperation of everybody to participate each
activity that their teachers given, although some students are having a hard
time to answer, the teacher make sure that each of her students will engage and
learn. I have also observed that the students were actively participating in their
class and they were always complete with regards to their attendance. They
also open their camera when their teachers tells them to in order to see what
they’re doing. The teacher were very effective that’s why all the students were
studying well and are always focused.

My Analysis
How do school campus and the classroom in
particular impact
the learning of the student going to school? What
are your conclusion?
»Eventually if school is very well known, most of the students
will be enrolling here and it plays a vital role to gain a lot of student to
go in these school. I believe that having a good ambiance and good
environment of the school can encourage more of the students. It
boosts students to study well and pursue harder
How does this relate to your knowledge of child
and adolescent development, How does this relate
to your knowledge of facilitating learning?
» When it comes to a child and adolescents’ development, we
really know that at this stage is not that easy, they’re still on the
learning process and is developing cognitively, and the best thing to
do is to guide and give them appropriate lesson that suits to their age
and learning types. In that sense they will feel more comfortable in
accessing education and learning.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 10
My Reflection/Insights
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just
observed? Why? Why not?
» Yes, I would love to first, the school is not that very far from
our house and it will not be hard for me, I can go to the school right away
and mostly students are actively participating in every lesson. I supposed
I will not have so much difficulty in reiterating my lessons among my
students because they are impressive, nice and intelligent. They are not
just a good listener but they are also a good follower lastly, the good
relationship between students and teacher makes me feel good to teach in
the school where that I have just observed.
2. What kind of school campus is conductive to learning?
» A school that is conducive for learning is, first and foremo
having a room that is presentable, clean and is organized, with
enough materials and spacious and not too crowded. Also, if the
school campus is very welcoming school and (child) friendly and at
the same time a school that is not prone to store selling cigarettes and
that has no temptations like computer shops, billiards. A campus that
has rules and regulations and must be disciplined enough. It is
conducive when school is child and eco-friendly had and is drug free.
3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?
» The classroom is conducive to learning when it is welcoming an
(child) friendly. Rooms should also be well- ventilated, not too crowded
and has a proper sanitation. It should also have enough facilities which
students needed for them to learn effectively and efficiently, rooms that
would let them feel that they are not different as they are loved and
accepted. And most of all a classroom that is safe and sound.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 11
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 12
4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in
number 3?
» I think 5 years from now, I will be a professional teacher
which has an aim to teach my students the knowledge and experiences
I will show to my students the love and care that they deserve, to let
them feel that they are important. I will share to them of what I have
attained in my education and that education is important. I will do the
best of my skills and abilities to teach my students. I will see to it that
they will learn every lesson that I will teach and share to them. I will
make all things in the classroom organized and I will make rules and
regulation with the agreement of my students and their parents for
them to think that it’s for the betterment of everyone and fair. I’ll
assured that all the lights and electric fan is functioning very well so
that the student will not be disturbed while in the class.
5. Write your additional learning and insight here
» I have learned so many things for being a student and
becoming a teacher in the future and I can say it’s not that easy
both parties should work together, students should listen to
what the teacher is being thought and also the teacher should be
devoted in the profession he/she chosen. Teachers are the role
model and should possess good behavior.

My Learning Portfolio
My Personal Illustration of an Effective
School Environment
An effective school environment is a student friendly zone.
Students will acquire knowledge and wisdom through a series
of seminars, personal encounters with particular methodologies and
topics, and instruction on how to apply what they've learned.
In order for a school to be successful, it must be a location
where there is no custodial authority, it should be place of no
cultural, political or even religion boundaries , no language barrier ,
but fair and free.

Erikson’s Stages of Psychosocial Development

Erikson's idea appeals to me since it is true that childhood and adult
experiences shape one's personality. Development is divided into stages,
each of which is dictated by a crisis. As a person grows older, he or she will
acquire and create knowledge and various qualities according to his or her

As I observed the Grade 7 students, they were doing some
activities such as seat works. While observing I found out their different
characteristics; some students are very quiet and really focusing on their
task, some are chatting with their circle of friends while doing their work
and there are few who’s just sitting at the corner of the classroom. The
total class population is 41 students; composed of 21 boys and 20 girls.
As I observed the different characteristics they portray I noticed that even
though they're having chit chats or little conversation to their other
classmates they can still focus on their assigned tasks and they can
manage their behavior by finishing their assigned works. The learners can
already work independently; they can manage the things that they need to
finish and if they have something that wasn’t able to understand it’s their
time to ask their teachers help. The span of attention of the students are
wide enough just as patience on working with their assignment. On their
listening skills, I noticed that they are mature enough to follow the
instructions given to them on their ability to concentrate, even their
destructed to some ideas such as playing and doing their own discussion
to their peer group they can still manage to finish their assigned task.

An Observation for the Classroom Visit
1. Are there areas in the classroom for specific purposes (storage of
teaching aids, books, students’ belonging, supplies etc.)? Describe
these areas.
» There are designated locations in the classroom for certain reasons, such
as storing teaching aids and ensuring that books are properly organized.
2. Are there rules and procedures posted in the room? List them
down.
» The teacher constantly reminds the students about the rules, such as
being kind to others, being honest and helpful, raising your hand and waiting
to be called, coming to school prepared, respecting your classmates, and the
list of the cleaners for the day.
3. Did the student participate in making the classroom rules? If yes,
and the resource teacher is available, ask him/her to describe the
process
» According to the teacher, the majority of the students follow the guidelines,
but some do not.
4. What are the daily routine done by the teacher? (Prayer,
attendance, assignment of monitors, warm-up activities etc.) Hoe
are they done?
» The teacher began the class with an opening prayer, which was followed
by greetings from both the teacher and the students. Next came attendance
and a summary of the previous session, as well as discussion.
5. Is there a seating arrangement? What is the basis of this
arrangement?
» The student are seated where they are comfortable to sit with, they can
freely choose who they want to set beside with.
6. Observe the noise level in the classroom. How is this managed?
» While the teacher is speaking, just a few students in the back make a
noise, but the majority of the students are listening. The teacher
accomplished this by simply stating that she had given those unruly students
a punishment.
7. If a Learner is not following instruction or is off-task, what does the
teacher do? Describe the behavior strategies used.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 27
» When a pupil goes off task, the teacher warns him or her that they are not
following the instructions. When the learner continues to disobey, the teacher
employs behavioral operant conditioning, giving a punishment to those who
do not comply and positive reinforcement to those who do.
8. What does the teacher do to reinforce positive behavior? (behavior
strategies)
» The teacher must provide positive reinforcement or feedback to a pupil
who exhibits good behavior. The teacher will award extra credit to those who
participate actively in the work. The teacher will also make encouraging words
such as "good job or keep it up" to encourage students to participate in class.
My Observation Notes
As I observed in the classroom I noticed they have their
area of where they can focus on their study. I have also notice that
their daily routines are: the class starts with a prayer then
continues with the checking of attendance done by the home room
teacher and followed by an activity as a recall of the lesson that
they had last time. In what I saw, every room are consist of
students who are very good, good and a late one. In a class, some
of them catches teacher’s attention when a group of student
doesn’t focus on the lesson especially if they get bored and
distracted.
As a teacher, you have to come up a new idea and so strategies
that will get their attention and is new to their eyes. You need to
think of activities that is livelier and is enjoyable where they can
get new information specially that today’s classes is in an online
platform. So, as a teacher, always make that students will not
leave in that room without gaining new ideas, keep them in mind
that new day is new learning.

My Analysis
1. How did the classroom organization and routine affects the
learners behavior?
» The classroom organization and routines affect the learners' behavior
by knowing their limitations. The minds of the students are set that they rules
to be followed because of this they will practice their proper attitude and act
politely.
[Link] should the teacher have in mind when she/he design classroom
organization and routine? What theories and principles should
you have in mind
» Teacher should put his/her mind to not focus on the ambiance of the
room but instead he/she must focus on the students learning. Moreover, the
teacher should implement and design a routine that fit to the students and
Jean Piaget Theory of principles are relevant to this.
3. Which behavior strategies were effective in managing the behavior of
the learner? In motivating students? Why were they affective?
» The behavior strategies that is effective in managing the behavior of
the learner is being the good role model which means that as a teacher you
should possess positivity, leading them to a good path and also by giving
them support and reinforcement, like saying great job or keep up the good
work if they did something good, the learner will be eager to participate the
class.

My Reflection /Insights
1. Imagine yourself organizing your classroom in future. In what
grade/year level do you see yourself? What routine and procedures
would you consider for this level? Why?
As I imagine myself organizing my classroom in the future, I see that I will
be handling Grade 7 students. If I want to handle Grade 7 students I will do
routines or procedures that will surely suit their age range. I will let them to
start our class with a prayer routine before anything else, as it would help
them to have a positive energy, next routine will be checking their attendance
and the most important thing is by asking them if how was there day, through
this I will be able to address their concerns and it will also help me of what
should I suppose to do. Setting positive vibes will also help them to gain an
optimistic mind and power and also by appreciating each one of them will
also help to make the class nice and well “safe and sound “.
2. Make a list of the rules you are likely to implement in this level. Why
would you choose these rules?
The following are the rules that I want to implement in my class
1. Be punctual
2. Always maintain the cleanliness of the classroom
3. Respect others as the way you want to be respected
4. Ask permission before leaving the room
5. Say excuse/raise hand whenever you want to speak or do something
I choose these because in their age, they need to be responsible and
matured
I choose these set of rules so that the students will observe cleanliness, and
being orderly so that the students will be able to be responsible of their own
being. I would also like to promote unity inside the classroom and good
relationship between myself and the students.
3. Should learners be involved in making the class rules? Why?
Definitely yes, students should also be involved in making the class rules that
will be implemented considering that they will be the one to benefit that and
for them to know that they are part of it. If they disobey they are aware of their
self that they have done wrong and it has consequence and in that case
students will be mindful to their behavior/action.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 32
My Learning Portfolio
Should learners be involved in making the class rules? Why?
In my opinion, it is because it is one way in which the learner can
express such things, and, as well, in order for the learner to be well-oriented
and have an idea of what their limitations are in the classroom, in case they
do violate those limits.

Read the following carefully before begin to observe. Then
write your observation report on the space provided on the next page
1. Find out the number of student. Gather data as to their ages,
gender racial, groups, religious, and ethics background.
During Class:
1. How much interaction is there in the classroom? Describe
how the student interact with one another and with the teacher. Are
there groups that interact more with the teacher than others.
2. Observe the learners seated at the back and the front part of
the room. Do they behave and interact differently?
3. Describe the relationship among the learner. Do the learners
cooperate against each other?
4. Who among the student participate actively? Who among

5. When a student call and cannot answer the teacher’s
question, do the classmate try to help him? Or do they raise their
hands, so that the teacher will call them instead?
Outside class

Homogenously by age? By gender? By racial or ethnic groups? Or are
the student mixed social grouping? If so, describe the groupings.
2. Describe how the learner interact with each other. What do
they talk about?
Observation Report
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 36
Name of School: Philippine Best Training Systems Colleges Inc.
School address: Brgy. Macamot, Binangonan
Date of visit: February 2022
There are 35 students in the class, 15 boys and 20 girls.
They are ranging in 16-17. They have different religions but mostly of them is
Roman Catholic. As I observed the Grade 7 students handled by Ms. Rizza
Conje by the time I visited, I noticed the different approaches of interaction by
the students to everyone in the classroom. The students interact respectively
and politely, they use “po” and “opo” when they are talking and asking
something to their teacher. As I observed this practice I found out that there is
a boundary to the teacher and student in a very nice way, because the
students knew that they should use polite words when interacting to their
teacher for the main reason that their attainment in life are far enough. On the
other hand, the students interact with their classmates in a very comfortable
manner, very ease and with no hesitations. There are students or group of
students who interact mostly with their teacher.
While observing the learners who seated at the front and the back, I
noticed that they behave almost the same. They interact actively, during class
discussion all of the learners from the front or back participate, they raise their
hands to answer the teacher’s question and when they want to share their
ideas and insights during the subject matter. This only shows the unity and
oneness of class their uniformity in participating in the class.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 37
My Analysis
1. Identify the person who plays key roles in the relationship and
interaction in the classroom. What roles do they play? Is there
somebody who appears to be the leader, a mascot/joker, an
attention seeker, a little teacher, a doubter/pessimist?
The teacher and, of course, the students are the two most important
individuals in the classroom. The teacher acts as a facilitator, guiding and
assisting students as they complete their perspective pieces. There are
students who pretend to be a class leader; she is the one who facilitates and
controls the noise level and regulates her classmates when the teacher is not
present; there are a lot of jokers in the class; when the class becomes too
boring, they usually crack jokes to make the class happy; there is also an
attention seeker in the class; he will undoubtedly get the attention of the
teacher. There are really also some students that we may say as the “good
Samaritan”, these are students in the class that helps their classmates when
something find it hard for them, they are patiently teaching their classmates
until they have understood or knew what have been thought to them.
2. Are the student coming from the minority group accepted or
rejected by the other? How it is shown?
The students coming from the minority group as I observed are being
accepted, it was shown that they’re not different and that they are one of
them. They are being acknowledge whatever their color maybe, or what state
in life they in and also of how they look like. And yes this is shown by making
them feel that they belong to the group even though they belong to a different
minority group. Their other classmates make them join to their group to let
them feel that they are united.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 38
3. How does the Teacher influence the class interaction
considering the individual differences of the students?
The teacher influence greatly in the individual differences of the
students by not having biases. The teacher should treat his or her students
equally so that the students will feel that they are all the same in the eyes of
the teacher.
4. What factor influence the grouping of the learner outside the
classroom?
““ I think the factors that influence the grouping of learners outside the
classroom is their common interests. Because as an individual you will go with
the group that you’ll feel the sense of being belong and part and where you
can share your likes and dislikes because as you join a certain group this will
reflect who you are. And if that’s the case you will be going to the group that
will surely suit your personality and attitude.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 39
My Reflection/Insights
1. How did you feel being in that classroom? Did you feel a sense of
oneness or unity among the learners and between the teacher and
the learners?
When I’m in the classroom, I already feel that I’m already a teacher. I
also feel the sense of oneness and unity among the learners because I can
see their eagerness to strive hard so that they can learn a certain topic. And
also the unity among the teacher and the learners because unity implies
uniformity and harmony and the class I visited portray this characteristic.
2. In the future, how would you want the learner in your classroom
to interact? How will you make this happen?
In the future, I want my students to interact in a way that they will feel no
tension at all. I want them to express freely what they feel but in a manner that
they will not offend their other classmates. I will make this happen by briefing
them and by letting them know the essence of harmony in the classroom and
making them realize that we will all benefit if we practice this type of
interaction.

School Address: Macamot, Binangonan Rizal
Date of visit:
As I've noticed, each learner has their unique strengths and
learning styles. Some kids listen carefully and participate in the activity,
while others do not. Students who are performing well usually open
their cameras, while students who are not performing well are those
who are not paying attention in class and who do not respond when the
teachers call for recitation.
They have several approaches to dealing with perplexing problems,
including using their creativity and sharing their experiences. Giving
rewards and tokens is one of the ways that teachers appreciate and
complement each pupil. Prioritize students over special needs.
Emphasize abilities rather than limitations. When describing unique
requirements, avoid using indirect term.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 43
My Analysis
1. Did your observation match the information green by the
Teacher? Were you able to correctly identify who among the
students performed well and who did not? What behaviours
helped you identify them? 9volunteering to answer, responding to
teacher’s direction, etc)
Yes, my observations coordinate with the teacher's facts. All pupils have
diverse abilities in terms of how they complete a work given to them by
their teacher, and they carefully replied it. They all do an excellent job and
complete the task at hand. They listened intently and carefully to the
teacher's instructions.
2. Describe the differences in ability levels of the students in the
class. Is there a wide gap between the students who are
performing well and those that are not?
The students in the class that I watched had varying levels of ability.
One of the pupils I witnessed was able to present her remarks audibly, whilst
the other kid I saw was communicating her thoughts through written works.
There is no significant difference between them; they each have unique
abilities that they demonstrated in distinct ways.
3. Describe the method used by the teacher in handling the
students’ differences in abilities. How did the student
respond to the teacher? Dud the teacher use
differentiated instruction? If yes, describe how.
The teacher's way of dealing with her students in class, whether high or
poor achievers, is quite fair. She speaks to the class as a whole, rather than
convincing her students that there is a significant gap between those who did
well and those who did not. When dealing with student disparities in ability,
the teacher employs methods and learning styles such as question and
answer, simplifying and analyzing the subject through individual or group
exercises. Some pupils are driven and respond actively to their teacher as a
result of these methods.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 44
My Reflections/Insights
1. Recall the time when you were in the Elementary or high school.
Recall the high and low achievers in your class. How did your teacher
deal with differences in abilities? Was your teacher effective?
When I was in elementary my teacher used to
treat us fairly When I was in high school, I have
a lot of classmates which are a slow learner I
nclass and also I have classmates that can
understand the topic well that we have. The
method and strategy that my teacher uses to
deal with our differences in abilities is, She
grouped us by partner and then one of the
partner is a fast learner while the other one is
slow learner, then my teacher said that we need
to teach our partner who was the slow learners
and if our partner can understand the topic that
we recall to them, we have an additional grade
from our teacher so that we were motivated to
teach our partner.
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 45
My Learning Portfolio
With the principle of individual differences in mind, what method and
strategies will you remember in the future to ensure that you will be able
to meet the needs of both the high and low achievers in your class?
Make a collection of strategies on how to address the students’ different
ability levels.
When I teach the next generation, I will never forget how critical it is for
students to retain all of the information. If only a few people really
comprehend it, it is insufficient. If the poor achiever student does not
understand the previous lesson, I will not move on to the following topic. I will
not make any distinctions between them, as this may harm their self-esteem.
I'll treat them all fairly because they deserve it. Instead, I'll show them how to
turn their classroom into a marketplace of ideas, where students are
encouraged to participate and share their knowledge and opinions. I will
always keep them in mind that they are all the same and that they will be
treated fairly. They are unique on their own ways, that they bright on their own
light in a sense that whatever they do they are welcome and acknowledge
and no one should be left behind. In order to make it happen I will use variety
of techniques that will make them feel and suits to them in their level weather
it’s cognitive. And also I will always remind them that everyone is intelligent on
a different level. Ill encourage them more often to engage or interact in class
or any activity that will build their confidence and self-esteem.

Recommendation
For the learner, focus on the things that will make you grow and happy, do not
let anyone drag you down, be confident and be true to yourself, always
believe that if others can do it and so do you.
For the Guardian, always support and guide your child as it is the most
important thing you can give her, never be tired of teaching her good values.
My Analysis
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 57
1. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the
style of parenting experience by the learner? Explain your answer.
When I went to see the learners and questioned their guardians. She is
loving and compassionate. Her expectations and restrictions for her child are
clear and sensible. She is nice and respectful to her child. Make her
youngster aware of the implications of her actions.
2. Relating your data with what you learned from child development,
what family factors do you think contribute to the development
and over-all adjustment of the learner in school?
Yes, family variables can influence learners' development because
they are the ones who raised their children. If a parent or guardian teaches
their children proper behavior and value, the youngster will grow up to be
disciplined and fearful of God. If the parents or guardian trained their child
with proper manner as they grow up, the outcome which is good will reflect to
a child’s parent as they are the first teacher who molds them to be the version
of their selves and also through that the teacher/s won’t have any problem at
any circumstances in disciplining the learner.
3. Does the communication between the home-school have an effect
on the learner? If yes, what are these effects?
Yes, because education begins at home and it always reflect how the
learner was nourished and raised by his or her parents. If students behavior is
not good and so the parents, it only means that they see how the parents acts
in their home and it is now the time that they can absorb the way they speak
at home and maybe bring it to school.
My Reflection/Insights
Field Study 1 Learners Development and Environment 58
1. Reflect on your own development as a child, what type of parenting
did you experience? How did it affect you?
When I was a child my parents was so strict every now and then,
they always give me words of advices in all aspects of life. They took care and
give us their best by providing everything we needed. They send us in school,
provide us a place to stay, food, clothes. I myself sometimes experienced of
being spanked because of being naughty, but I never think of any to be mad
and I know in myself that I am being spanked and said because it is for my
own good and that I should always obey, I am also being said that I will fully
understand everything that they do when I grow up and I must say “it is now,
and that I now fully understand why parents discipline their child or children’s.
And now I conclude that, with all those advices and talk are all worth it, I am
now a disciplined and matured individual, and was raised with good manners.
2. As a future Teacher, how would you establish good home-school
collaboration? How can you work well with the parents? How can you
help them? How can they help you?
As a future teacher, I would develop effective home-school partnership
by visiting my students' parents to inform them about their children's
performance, academic achievements and concerns. I will meet the parents
or guardians of my students twice a month to update them on their children's
performance and to offer some advice on where their children needs an
assistance and guidance in order to urge them to attend school and study.
Parents can assist me in learning things about their children's situation that I
didn't know about in order to pay attention and address them.
