1. Daedalus tries to make Icarus pay attention to his instructions, but Icarus got excited
and doesn’t obey the rules:
- Write an essay about a safety rule that you think is important but often people ignore
because it seems like following it will ruin the fun
- Convince your readers why they should obey this safety rule.

Have you ever gone home late at night? How did your parents react to it? Did they set
a specific time where you should be at home before that hour? I think almost all of us have
experienced this situation before.

Curfews are very important for parents as they help assure their children’s safety while
also teaching them responsibility and self-control. Teenagers like us often ignore this rule
since we tend to lose track of time and sometimes, we just want to spend a lot of time with our
friends and have fun without our parents observing. However, this safety rule is very important
since it prevents unexpected situations from happening, especially at night. I think we are all
aware that violent crimes are most likely to occur at nighttime. Crimes such as rape, assault
and theft are very widespread during the dark. Aside from those, having a curfew will help us
limit ourselves and have self-control. It helps us learn to make responsible choices and
decisions on how to spend our time.

In conclusion, we should always obey our parents. Parents always want nothing but
the best for their children. It may seem unfair and unreasonable at first, but we will eventually
realize how beneficial such rules are and that they are just looking out for us.
