INTRODUCTION

 After approval of the preliminary designs and planning for a project by the client
and governing agencies, the architect’s office initiates the working drawing phase
for the construction of the project.
 During the working drawing phase a team of architects consult with the
engineers required on a specific project.
 Consulting engineers may be employed directly by the architect, or they may have
their own private practice.
 These consultants may include a soils and geological engineer, a structural
engineer, a mechanical engineer, an electrical engineer, and a civil engineer. Other
consultants may include a landscape architect and a cost estimator.

CENTRE LINE DRAWING


 Gridlines are the identification marks of a floor plan.
 These are usually letters from A to Z, etc., along the vertical direction, and letters
1 to 2, etc., along the horizontal direction; that determines one particular
position of a structural member on the floor plan.
 Using gridlines will identify specific locations on the floor plan for any structural
member in the floor plan.
 It Will eventually translate into the site to locate the various positions of
structural members on the ground.
 Centre Line is a line that passes through the center of a column. A grid of similar
lines for several columns forms a centerline plan. Centre line plans help you
understand the exact positioning of a column on site. The column may be of
different dimensions but may have the same centerline.
