Introduction A student placement management system; admin shall be able to post job offerings; similarly scholarships, etc for MS/PhD students; students shall be able to view offerings; could apply for them; shall be able to update their placement status, etc. 1.1 Purpose Purpose of this document is to understand the system completely and then to get clear about functionalities of the system to whom we are going to make. 1.2 Scope
Our scope is just for students, employers and for Administration that will post job and student will be able to apply for that. 2. Domain Overview Product perspective & functions In this project an employer will post the job and a student will be able to search the job according to his requirements and will be able to leave his C.V. for a particular job then that company employer will be able to see his C.V. and will assign or reject the user and an administrator will be having a eye view on both of these and will be having a record for each employee and for user. User characteristics There are majorly three kinds of users, one those are students and secondly the employer and thirdly is the manger officer, who will operate this software and will manage everything. Assumptions and dependencies Requirements part will be very crucial if the system depends on any type of Operating System (OS). On the other hand, if Operating System (OS) want to change, requirements part can lose importance. It is chosen to use Windows Operating System(OS) X in this system, but if whatever need exists, this system can be upgrade in other Operating Systems (OS) such as Linux Operating Systems or MAC.

Constraints
First of all, the system will give permission to users. For this permission each user will have a user name and password in order to reach all user information, add user, drop user, change user information and update user information. However, before all of these actions, each user has to be added by admin to the system. After these steps, user will be login in the system.

Functional Requirements
3.1 3.2 Register A student needs to be registered in the system to receive updates about jobs. Login Student will login the system to view posted jobs. Place Job Placement officer will post job in the system. Apply for Job Students can apply for posted jobs according to their expertise. Post CV A student can post his C.V. for a particular job. Search Job A student can search for online posted jobs. He will be able to view jobs and can post CV. (a search bar will be provided for searching to save time.)

View Posted Jobs Students can view currently jobs being offered. (A list of posted jobs will be displayed in system.) View applications for a job Placement officer would be able to see, who has applied for a particular job.

Non-Functional Requirements
The system will be fast and useful, and also the system will be a web based system; more than one user can use the system simultaneously. 4.1 Performance Requirements The system users do not need to wait for a long time for the transaction of information, since the system is a web based system, and more than one user can use the system simultaneously. There is also an admin panel to manage and control the system. The system shall display confirmation message to users within a few seconds after the user submits information to the system. 4.2 Safety Requirements System will be password protected, secure and it will be encrypted and it will also be secured from hackers. 4.3 Security Requirements The system is secure; because every user will have a user name and password also nobody can use the same user name. Users will authenticate using regular username/password pairs. Passwords will be stored in relational database. Users shall be required to log in to the system for all operations except viewing login page. Users will have system roles and access to pages/menus will be based on these roles. Administrator is a system role.

1. Student: A student would be able to login and to view the posted jobs and he can apply for those jobs according to his skills. 2. Job Placement Officer: Placement officer post the jobs that get to know from employers and he can also see the applications for the jobs, he has posted in system.

1. Use case: Log in Actors: Student, Admin Brief Description: This use case help users to enter into system and its purpose is that only registered user would be able to access system Pre Condition: User should have already registered Main Flow: 1. User choose Log in option 2. System show log in page 3. User enter username or password and press Ok option 4. System validates the username and password and logs user into the system.
Alternative Flow: 1. User enter invalid username or password 2. System show an error message Login is invalid Post Condition: 1. If the Log in was successful, user will navigate to his profile. 2. Use case: Register Actors: Student, Admin Brief Description: This use case allows user to register as a new member to the system Pre Condition: None Main Flow: 1. User selects Signup option. 2. System show registration page containing basic required fields. 3. User enters information in required fields and press Submit button 4. 1. Data Entry error 1.1 User enter s invalid information or left with an empty field. 1.2 System shows an error message please all required fields. 2. Glossary
Description He can post jobs and have history of jobs, which he has posted. He can make his account and can search jobs relevant to him or her. Can be searched and by user and can be posted by employer. It is only compulsory for the student for qualification for a particular job. Placement officer can view applications on which requests he has received. It is history of applicant, where ever he has worked. It is history of employer, that how much he has received applications about particular job.
