Haktan gelen şerbeti içtik elhamdülillah The drink sent down from Truth, we drank it, glory
be to God.
Şol kudret denizini geçtik elhamdülillah And we sailed over the Ocean of Power, glory be to
God.
Kuru idik yaş olduk ayak idik baş olduk We were dry, but we moistened. We became feet we
became the head
Kanatlandık kuş olduk uçtuk elhamdülillah We grew wings and became birds, and flew, glory be
to God.

Şol karşıki dağları meşeleri bağları Beyond those hills and oak woods, beyond those
vineyards and gardens,
Sağlık sefalık ile geçtik elhamdülillah we passed in health and joy, glory be to God.
Vardığımız illere şol sefa gönüllere To whatever lands we came, in whatever hearts, in
all humanity,
Baba Tapduk ma'nisin saçtık elhamdülillah We planted the meanings Taptuk taught us, glory be
to God.
Dirildik pınar olduk ırıldık ırmak olduk We became a trickle that grew into a river. We took
Aktık denize daldık taştık elhamdülillah flight and drove into the sea,
and then we overflowed, glory be to God.

Beri gel barışalım yâd isen bilişelim Come here, let's make peace, let's not be strangers to
one another.
Atımız eğerlendi eştik elhamdülillah We have saddled the horse and trained it, glory be to
God.

Zadade se oblåk témen A cloud of darkness has appeared

Otkum gora, ot Bålkana from the mountains and the forest

Eh, moy dyado, tejko vreme! Ah, granddad, these are troubled times!
Raloto se edvam vlachi Hard the dragging of the plough.

Zakapaha edri kapki Large raindrops have begun to fall,

Neli ne sa kapki drebni. this is no gentle drizzle now.
Boorya strashna shte da revne A terrifying tempest howls -
Neli ne sa kapki drebni.

Kaji dyado, che az pomnya

Kakuv yunak naped beshe
PREVIEW this is no gentle drizzle now.

Tell me, granddad - I remember

how you once walked brave and proud.
Bog da prosti baba Stoina Granny Stoyna was alive then -
Tya peeshe, ti oreshe she was singing while you ploughed.

“Eh moj sinko! Shto me pitash? "Ah, my son, why you ask?
Chui tos garvan de tam grachi.. Listen to the raven croak…
No f’selo neli otivash But when you go down to the village
Shte da vidish zashto place you'll find out why the tears choke

Star voyvoda sled tui ralo! an aged chieftain, following his plough.
Tam seloto se e zbralo For the village gathers all around,
Na megdana za da gleda in the square, to graze upon
Moyte momtzi, moyte cheda! my children, my young men.”

Zadade se oblåk témen A cloud of darkness has appeared

Dali shte e dujdétz dreben? does it mean a gentle drizzle?

Seki ticha, f’selo byaga, Everyone through the village races,

Dyado ne shte da razpryaga but granddad won't unhitch the traces.
