Healing Masterclass: God's Will for Healing

This document is the transcript of a video teaching on healing by Andrew Wommack. In the teaching, Wommack discusses that it is God's will to heal, just as it is God's will to save. He explains that people need to have the same faith in receiving healing as they do in receiving salvation - that it is already done through what Jesus accomplished, and they must believe and receive it. Wommack shares a story from his childhood to illustrate how people must actively take or receive what God offers, rather than just passively hoping God will heal them.

No. 1 - What is God’s Will for Healing?

CP: Carrie Pickett
MP: Mike Pickett
AW: Andrew Wommack

(00:12):
Welcome, everyone, to this first episode of healing masterclass. We are so excited
that you are joining us, and we have some special things planned for you in this
series. My name is Carrie Pickett and I am the director here at Charis Bible college
here in Woodland Park. And this is ...

(00:30):
My name is Mike Pickett. I'm the vice president here at Charis Bible college.

(00:34):
And for those of you, I'm sure everybody knows this is Andrew Wommack, the
president and founder of Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible college.
And we are so privileged to host him today, as he's going to be sharing with you
some amazing principles. And so, in this masterclass, we, our desire is just to bring
some topics of healing to you, that for a lot of people, they're super basic, but for
others we've forgotten them. And we don't know them. So, we're going to share
some things with this masterclass about healing and the foundations of healing.
So, Andrew's going to share, I know personally, both for Mike and me, Andrew’s

teaching about healing has changed our lives. There's been so many principles
that we have learned from him and this ministry. So I know you're going to be
super blessed. So, in this first series, we're going to do four different series and
Andrew's going to be first sharing with you.

(01:25):
And then Mike and I actually get to share with you on another one. And then we
actually have Barry Bennett. He's one of our great teachers here at Charis Bible
college. He will be sharing with you, and then we have some really special
testimonies and things planned for you in that fourth one. So, we're really excited
(amen) that you're taking this journey with us. So, we want to just pass this over
to Andrew. We're going to do some questions as well. And as you are watching
this, there's all kinds of downloads. You're going to see ways that you can interact
and ask questions. So, we're really excited about getting to know you during this
masterclass series.

(01:58):
Amen. Well, praise God. I'm excited about sharing about healing. And we have
seen man, who knows, at least tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands
or millions of people healed. And to me, I always start with just real foundational
stuff. And most people are looking for some, you know, like silver bullet magic
thing that's gonna happen. And yet the vast majority of people that I see healed,
it's because they get hold of just really, really basic stuff. (Amen) Most people do
not have the basics. So, the first thing that I always start sharing about is that it is
God's will to heal. And that sounds simple, but you know, I was raised in a
denomination that believed God could do anything, but the only thing that you
could claim and that you could stand on was the forgiveness of sins. They, it was
Baptist and they believed that you could be born again.

(02:52):
Anybody could. And if you didn't receive salvation, it's not God that didn't give it.
It's you that was having trouble receiving it. But when it came to healing if a
person got healed, they would, you know, they'd say, well, praise God, but they
didn't feel like you had any control. You couldn't, you couldn't grab hold of it. But
one of the scriptures that the Lord really used in the beginning with me was
Colossians 2:6 that says, “as ye have therefore received Christ Jesus, the Lord, so
walk ye in him,” (Colossians 2:6 KJV) and that means the same way as you receive
salvation is the same way you receive healing or prosperity or anything. And if you
would've approached forgiveness of sins and said, well, God, I know that you can
forgive me, but I don't know if you will, if it'd be your will save me, you'd never
get born again.

(03:39):
Because Satan would just convince you that, you know, the first time you had any
thought or any thing that was contrary to salvation, well, it didn't work. You didn't
get it. (Yeah) But see, it's presented as no, it's already done. God has already died
for the sins of the world. And then whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved (Romans 10:13 KJV) I've actually had people before come up and
struggle to believe that God could forgive them because they've lived, you know,
a bad life. And I'll quote the scripture to 'em. If you'll confess with your mouth, the
Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart, God raised him from the dead. You shall be
saved. (Romans 10:9-10 KJV) And so they'll pray with me, and I say, are you
saved? And they say, well, I hope so. And I'll go back, and I'll say, look, it says, if
you do this, you shall be saved.

(04:23):
And then whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Mm. And I
say, so are you saved? They say, well, I, I think so. And I'll go back and just keep
pounding it until look, are you gonna call God a liar? He said, if you do this, wow,

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

you shall be saved. Now, are you saved? And finally, they'll go, well, yes, I guess
I'm saved. But when it comes to healing, people will pray. And then they wait to
see if they feel healed or if, if the symptoms have left and stuff and they just
constantly waver. You've gotta get the same attitude about healing that you have
about forgiveness of sins. The Lord would no more fail to heal a person than he
would fail to save a person. And the truth is first John chapter two verse two says
that He is “the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only, but also for the sins
of the whole world.” (I John 2:2 KJV)

(05:16):
So, he's already paid for the sins of the whole world. It's not a, you know, often
you'll hear people say just ask the Lord to forgive your sins (Yeah) and to come
into your heart. But that's not what the scripture teaches. Like in Acts 16 when
Paul and Silas were in jail and the jailer came in and he said, Sirs, what must I do
to be saved? And he, they didn't say, well, confess your sins and ask God to
forgive you. They said, believe on the Lord, Jesus. Believe what he's done, and you
shall be saved (Acts 16:31) (Amen) So that's the way you get salvation. It's also the
way you get healed. You have to believe that it's already done. First Peter 2:24
says, “By his stripes, we were healed,” (1 Peter 2:24) not, are going to be healed,
but we were healed, and you have to believe it's done and then just reach out and
take it.

(06:06):
And, you know, I had an example when I was a kid, eight years old. And I was in
the vacation Bible school and my family, we always sat on the second pew from
the front down at, if you were on the stage, it was always on the left side. And it
was, it was like our pew <laugh>. We were like a skunk. We had our own pew
<laugh> and that was our pew. This is where we sat. And so, anyway, that's where
I normally sat. But because of this vacation Bible school, I was eight years old and
they brought us in, in groups and there were 600 people in the vacation Bible

school. And that my group sat on the very last row. And so this guy stood up, he
took a dollar bill, which back in those days, a dollar bill was a big deal.

(06:48):
Most people wouldn't bend over and pick up a dollar bill today. But he held up
this dollar bill like this, and he said, I'll give this dollar bill to the first kid that
comes up here and takes it. And I mean, instantly, there was just all these kids
around him yelling. I want it, I want it. And I thought, man, of all times to sit at the
back, this was the worst time. And he just kept his hand in the air and he kept
saying, I'll give this dollar bill to the first kid that comes up here and takes it. And
he said it over and over. And everybody was wondering what's going on because
everybody wanted it. And he repeated it like four or five times. And finally, it hit
my lightning-fast mind, what this guy was doing.

(07:26):
And I got out from the back row, ran down the aisle, pushed my way through
those kids. And he had his arm up like this. And I reached up and grabbed his arm
and climbed up his side and grabbed that dollar bill <laugh>. And when I did, he
looked at me and he said, now that's the first kid that came up here and took it.
All of you wanted it, but I said, I'll give it to the first one who takes it. And he used
that to illustrate how you get born again. And it's, you can't just ask and wonder,
will He do it? But you have to believe that it's been done. It's offered to you now,
are you gonna take it? Or are you gonna leave that offer on the table? And again,
Colossians 2:6 as you've received Christ Jesus, the Lord. So, walk in him (Colossians
2:6 KJV). So that's the same way you get healed. You have to believe that it is
God's will that he's already healed you and you have to reach out and take it, not
just passively ask and see if God will heal you. So, these are some of the basics
that I always start everybody with. Cuz people will say that, oh yeah, I believe it's
God's will to heal. But then they waver in that. (Yeah) And you can't waver (Amen)
on this at all.

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

(08:36):
So, so what does that mean, Andrew? To, to practically, when you say to actually
take your healing. So, what does that mean to you in terms of your participating
in that process?

(08:46):
Well, it's, it's aggressive for one thing instead of passive. And I have people come
to me all of the time and they will start telling me what the doctor has said.
They'll tell me all their symptoms. And I think that they're trying to get you to pity
them and feel as depressed and discouraged about the situation as they are
<laugh> and, and like, “I have nothing and I can do nothing,” but maybe you could
pray for me. (Yeah) That...you'll die thinking that way. You have, it says in
Matthew chapter 11, verse 12, that since the days of John the Baptist, the
kingdom of heaven is preached, and it suffers violence and the violent take it by
force (Matthew 11:12 KJV). And it means that you have to reach out and say, this
is mine and I am not gonna let Satan steal from me what's already mine.

(09:33):
So, you aren't fighting to get healed. You're fighting because Jesus has already
provided it. And Satan is trying to steal it from you. (Amen) And when you get
that attitude, it just moves you to a different level. And when you start being
aggressive like that, again, you go back to James 4:7 that says, “submit yourselves,
therefore unto God; resist the devil and he'll flee from you (James 4:7 KJV). And
the word resist means to actively fight against. (Amen.) And see, this is the
reason that you have to go back to the basics because you can't fight against
sickness if you think that God has any part in it. If you think that he gave it to you
or if he's allowing it, or if he's punishing you, or if it's you're, you're gonna learn

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

something through it... If you think that God wants you to be sick, well, then you
can't resist the sickness because you'd be resisting God. (Yeah)

(10:24):
So, this is one of the key things in my own personal life. I had the revelation that it
was God's will for me to be well, and I believed it was God's will, but you know,
the scripture talks about being persuaded and then being fully persuaded. (Amen,
that's right.) And when I had some sickness come against my oldest son, one time
I had spoken to a lady and my wife, my mother, and, and my sister all jumped on
me that you were mean to Mrs. Smith. And I didn't mean to be mean, it was just
that she was saying, God put sickness on you. And I said, no, He doesn't. And we
got into a, I'd called it a discussion. They thought I was being mean, but I just,
wasn't gonna back up. And so anyway, long story. But when they got on my case
and went to condemning me and saying, you were wrong, my son got sick and I
prayed, and we didn't see him manifest the healing. And for three days when he
was eight months old, he just laid there, and he didn't move for three days.
(Wow)

(11:23):
And he didn't eat for three days at eight months. And we were having thoughts of
man, even if he survives, this could be brain damage. Cuz he was hot, and he was
running a fever. And anyway, long story. But Marshall Townsley, who was like an
associate with me, he came over and rebuked me and he said, you know, you
preach that it's God's will to heal. And that God's not the one who's putting
problems on you and stuff. You preach it, but you can't live it. And he says it's
because you feel condemned and think that God is somehow or another allowing
this because you've done something wrong. And he just rebuked me. (Wow) And
let me have it. And it was only five minutes from my house to his house. But on
the way back home, his wife got on his case so badly that he turned around and
came back to apologize.

(12:13):
And by the time he got there, 10 minutes later, Joshua was healed because what
he said was the truth. And see I had wavered, and I thought, God, you probably
aren't answering my prayer because I deserve this. This is your punishment. And
even though, even though I knew the truth, I, I was persuaded but not fully
persuaded. (Yeah) And so I think that there's people probably watching this, who
you need to go back to the basics and realize that God never, ever, ever uses
sickness to do things. That's child abuse. What would you think if one of your kids,
I know your two kids, what would you think if they did something wrong? And so,
you put leukemia on them, cancer on 'em, to teach 'em something the way can't
imagine. (Nope) (No) If you had the ability to do that, I guarantee you, that'd be
child abuse.

(13:01):
They'd take your children away from you. And yet people accuse God of doing
those same things and they sometimes think that God's disconnected and that,
well, maybe it is his will to heal, but I'm not, you know, worthy of it or something.
And they, they just believe that he's indifferent. (Yeah) If you treated your kids
that way (Yeah) that would be child abuse. (Yeah, Amen) And so God's not like
them. And you know, to me, the, the kicker, you can go through a lot of
scriptures. I've mentioned a lot of scriptures already and there's many, many
more, but like for instance, Acts 10:38, how that “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with power and with the holy ghost who went about doing good healing, all that
were oppressed of the devil, he healed all, (Acts 10:38 KJV) not some but all. And
they were oppressed of the devil, but not oppressed of God.”

(13:48):

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

And so to me, the real clincher is... there's a lot of scriptures... right here is one
out of John chapter five. And in verse 19, the Pharisees were criticizing Jesus over
his ministry and, and challenging him. Where'd you get this authority from? And
Jesus answered and said unto them, verily, verily I say unto you, the Son can do
nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do. For what things soever he
doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise (John 5:19 KJV). (Amen) There are some
people that have actually used this to try and discredit Jesus somehow or another
and say he wasn't equal to God because he couldn't do anything on his own. It's
actually just the opposite. What this is doing is expressing such a unity and a
oneness between the Father and the son that he couldn't operate independent of
his Father.

(14:42):
They were one. And so, this is saying that He can only do what he sees his Father
do and whatever He sees his Father do is what He does. And so, look at the life of
Jesus. And I've actually got all of this in my living commentary. If a person was to
go look at that, I've got it listed out. I think there's 47 or 48 times that it lists
healings in the gospels. And there is not one single time that Jesus ever left the
person sick, made a person sick, told them that he was perfecting them through
the sickness or anything like that. So, if Jesus really did reflect the Father, well
then, He didn't reflect the Father If the Father is the one who makes people sick,
punishes them and lets them stew in their sickness because they haven't learned
enough. And so, Jesus wouldn't have represented the Father.

(15:37):
And you add to that Hebrews chapter one, verse three, where it says that he is
the express image of his person and the brightness of his glory (Hebrews 1:3 KJV)
and that word express image, there means a perfect representation, not vague or
only representing a portion of what the father's will is. He represented God
perfectly. Amen. Jesus said in John chapter 14, if you've seen me, you've seen the
Father (John 14:9 KJV) and he wasn't talking about his physical body. He was

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

talking about if you've seen the way I act. This is the way that the Father is. He
represented God, the Father. So, to me, the, the clincher to everything is, can you
find Jesus ever putting sickness on a person? Ever telling a person that this is what
you deserve or that you aren't worthy... you've got to suffer more? You can't find
that in Jesus. And so therefore, anybody who is preaching that that's the way that
God treats us. They're saying that Jesus didn't accurately represent the Father,
which is completely contrary to scripture. So, the fact that Jesus did only good...
went about doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil... to me, he is
the Supreme example. (Amen) And we need to just recognize that God wants us
well. (Amen) Doesn't want us sick.

(16:54):

So, what about people who say, and this, I've seen this, traveling over on the
mission field and different nations and things like that, where people say, well,
healing passed away with the apostles. So basically yes, God can heal, but it really
was for the day of the New Testament. And if He does it now, it's kind of rare. And
there's some qualifications you have to meet.

(17:15):
I was raised with that, but there, there is no scriptural foundation for that. I think
what that is, that's a cop out. They're looking for an excuse, because if you start
preaching that it is God's will to heal, not everybody's gonna get healed. (That's
right) Not because God didn't will it. No more than... some people don't get saved
who even go to church and want it, but they never put faith in Jesus. They're
trusting in their own goodness. And hell is gonna be full of religious people that
went to church. Does that mean that it wasn't God's will to save them? No. It just
means that they didn't trust God. They were trusting their own goodness.
Likewise, it is true that people don't get healed. Not every person gets healed,
and people just assume, and they come up with these excuses, you know, about
why it doesn't happen. (Yeah) But the reason it doesn't happen is cuz people

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

don't believe. And sometimes they wanna believe, but they, they, they don't even
know what faith is.

(18:11):
And that's a great point too, Andrew. So, I've also heard people sometimes say
that they have to get more faith to get healed. I know you've spoken about this
before as well. Is it a faith matter? Is it the aspect of getting more faith?

(18:25):
Faith is, is absolutely a part of receiving healing. Like in the sixth chapter of the
book of Mark Jesus was in his hometown and it said he could heal no one, except
the only thing he did... I messed that up... Jesus could do no mighty works, save
that He laid his hands upon a few sick folk and he marveled because of their
unbelief (Mark 6:6 KJV). And if you put that together with Matthew 13:58, which
is the same instance, it's just worded differently. It says he, he marveled, he could
do no mighty works and marveled because of their unbelief. So anyway, it wasn't
his (Jesus’) lack of faith. No, the people didn't express faith. So, faith is a
foundation and you do have to have faith, but in the 17th chapter of the book of
Matthew, Jesus disciples came to him and asked why they couldn't cast this
demon out of a boy who was having seizures.

(19:21):
And he didn't say, it's your lack of faith that's or it's your little faith. He says, it's
your unbelief. (Matthew 17:20a KJV) That's the problem. And then he said, cuz if
your faith is as small as a grain of mustard seed, that's enough to cast a mountain
into the sea (Matthew 17:20b KJV). (That's right) So faith is necessary, but it
doesn't have to be huge faith. And what people don't realize, they think that I just
got to amass this huge amount of faith, a tiny bit of faith is enough. It was enough
to get you born again. (That's right) And that's the greatest miracle that ever was.
© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.
(Amen) You don't have to have a big faith. What you have to have is a pure faith
that isn't polluted and negated by unbelief. And very few people even have this
concept. They think that if you have faith, that means you have no unbelief.

(20:06):
And if you have any unbelief, that means you didn't have any faith. And yet Jesus
told that man who brought his son over in mark chapter nine, the same story is
repeated. And in Mark chapter nine he asked the father, how long has he had
this? And he said, since he's a child, and sometimes it'll cast him into the water
and sometimes into the fire. But if you can do anything.... and see he was pushing
all the responsibility back on Jesus and Jesus said, no, if you can believe all things
are possible. And the man said, Lord, I believe. Help thou my unbelief (Mark 9:24).
And Jesus, didn't say, now, wait a minute. If you've got unbelief, then you don't
have any faith. No, he dealt with it. That's right. And you can also look in the fifth
chapter of the book of Mark.

(20:51):
And when the woman came and touched the hem of his garment and got healed,
Jairus’ daughter. He had, Jesus was on the way to minister to her, but he was
delayed by that woman with the issue of blood. And finally, the servant came and
told Jairus and said, don't trouble your master anymore. Your little girl is dead.
And when Jesus heard it, he said, “Fear not, only believe.” (Matthew 5:36) So,
again, he said only believe. If believing automatically excludes unbelief, it
wouldn't have been any reason to say only believe. So, here's what people don't
realize. You can have faith. You must have faith for healing. But it doesn't have to
be huge faith. You don't have to be a faith giant. You just have to have a faith
without any doubt or unbelief that is negating it. I often use this example, like if
you had a weight and if you hook the horse up to it, you could exert enough
power to drag that weight and move it.

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

(21:47):
But if you had a horse of equal strength pulling in the opposite direction, the net
effect on that weight would be zero. So, this is what happens. People believe that
God does heal. (Yeah) But then they aren't strong in faith. And, and they also have
this fear and unbelief and the doctor said this and their family said this, and boy,
you went through this with your sister, and you have people come in,
pronouncing death and speaking things. And your fight was not only to believe
that God did it, but you have to stand against all of this unbelief that comes. And
there's a lot of people that don't do that. (Yeah)

(22:24):
So, what is the biggest way that people overcome that unbelief? That whole, I, I
believe, but I have unbelief. So how do they get from that place of not believing
what everybody else is saying and doubt and...

(22:39):
Well, I've actually got a teaching on this. Just happen to have a teaching on what
to do when people don't look like they're healed. And going back again to
Matthew 17:20, when the disciples said...[verse] 19 is where they said why
couldn't we cast him out? And his answer was because of your unbelief for if you
had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you should say into this mountain, be out,
move, be thou cast into the sea and shall not down your heart. And it shall come
to pass (Matthew 17:20). But then in the next verse, he says, how be it this kind
goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21) And some people have
interpreted that when it says this kind, they talk about this kind of demon,
because the boy had a demon [that] was causing the seizures. And they say, it's
this kind of demon, but there is no demon that won't respond to the name of
Jesus and faith in His name (Amen).

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

(23:28):
It's not that. It was talking about this kind of unbelief. That was the subject of the
sentence. And so that shows you that there's different kinds of unbelief. (Yeah)
And I... this is just Andyology. I can't show you a verse for this, but this is my own
take on studying the Word. I've categorized unbelief into three categories. One is
just ignorance or lack of knowledge. The Bible says, Romans 10:17, So then, faith
comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God and if you don't know what the
word of God says, then you aren't gonna have faith. That's right. So, there is
unbelief that will just automatically be present if you don't have faith. And so
that's one way, that's one type of unbelief. If you could imagine, like if you had a
whiteboard or something, and if the thing was blank, well then, the way you write
on that, you just write the truth on there.

(24:20):
If a person is blank, if they don't have any bad teaching, if it's just a lack of
knowledge. The antidote for that is you teach the truth. (Yeah) And the truth sets
'em free and they can get over that. The second type of unbelief is where you
have wrong teaching, to where, it's not ignorance. It's wrong teaching.. it's
disbelief. (Yeah) Because like you were mentioning, some people have been
taught that miracles passed away with the apostles. So that's like a, having a
whiteboard and having stuff written all over it. And for you to write on it, you're
gonna have to erase something <laugh>. So, if a person has had bad teaching,
you're gonna have to go in and counter that teaching and get rid of that before
you can put the truth on. But the answer for those first two types of unbelief are
basically the same. It's just telling a person the truth. (Amen) And if they'll receive
it, the truth will set 'em free.

(25:08):
But then there's a third type of unbelief that I call natural unbelief. And it's not
because you don't know the truth. It's not because you've been taught wrong. It's

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

just, if you pray for a person to be healed and you lay hands on them and they fall
over dead, you're gonna think it didn't work. <Laugh> It's just... your eyes see
something different than what you were believing for, and it's not, it's not
demonic. It's not wrong teaching. It's just that we've all been taught that what we
see is real. And yet there's more than what we see. (Yeah) There's a spiritual
world. And so, how do you overcome this natural unbelief? That's what Jesus was
talking about in Matthew 17:21, where it says this kind, this natural unbelief...

(25:59):
And I believe that that's what the disciples were struggling with because this boy,
when they brought him to Jesus in the ninth chapter of mark, it says that he fell
down in wallowed and foamed at the mouth. Have you guys ever seen anybody
have an epileptic seizure? (Mm-Hmm) (Yes) I had that happen in high school and a
girl fell in my arms and was biting her tongue. And I tell you what scared the liver
out of me <laugh> and it it'll affect your feelings. (Yeah) And emotions. So
anyway, when they brought the boy to Jesus, he had this convulsion, I believe it
probably happened with the disciples. And so, they did believe. They had cast out
devils before. But this time when they started rebuking the devil, everything
looked exactly the opposite. And I believe that their senses just dominated them.

(26:47):
They were more controlled by what they saw than by what they believed. So,
when you have that kind of unbelief, the only way to overcome that is through
fasting and prayer. And the reason fasting and prayer work is because when
you're praying, you're talking to someone that you can't see. And if you're truly in
communion with the Lord, He's talking back to you and He'll show you things. And
so, you start acting on it and then you see the results like, man, I could name
thousands of things. I've seen people healed. I've seen miracles happen. I've seen
God supply physical needs... The very place where we're sitting, at one time, you
know, had nothing on it. And then now we've got $130 million worth of buildings
paid for in nine years. (Amen) And all of that happened because I was believing

God. And what happens is, it says over in Hebrews chapter five, verse 14, strong
meat belongs to those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern
both good and evil (Hebrews 5:13).

(27:49):
And so, if you pray and hear from God, act on it, see results, you can exercise your
senses, your physical senses, to where they'll start saying, man, this works! And
they will recognize that there's something beyond what you can see, taste, hear,
smell and feel. So that's what prayer does. Prayer, if you're tapped into God, and
if He's speaking to you and you're acting on it, it will train your senses that there's
things going on that you can't see. (That's good) And then fasting does the same
thing because fasting is probably the easiest way to aggravate your five senses.
<Laugh> There's some people that man, they can't go, they can't go eight hours
without food.

(28:31)
They get hangry.

(28:41):

Angry. That's right. They get angry, and they get to talking about that, man, I've
got a headache and they think they're dying by noon the first day. And the truth is
you don't die. You actually have to go 40 days (Yeah) before you begin to die. And
one day a week is actually healthy for you. (Yeah) But see you, you go to feeling
weak and you feel all these things and it's because your flesh, in a sense, is
spoiled. (Oh yeah) It tells you what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat and all
of this. And so here you are saying, ‘Body, in the name of Jesus, you're healed.
Pain, leave.’ And your body in a sense is saying, who are you to tell me to do
anything? (Yeah) (Yeah) You hadn't told me... you haven't controlled me in
decades. <Laugh> And your body will just rebel at that. And you'll have all kinds of

thoughts of unbelief. But if you fast and if you, if you fast beyond the hunger...
and I'm sure you guys have probably done this, but when you go on a fast it starts
out and you feel hungry and you're having things, but you pass a point to where
honestly, you get to where it doesn't matter if you eat or not. (That's right) And
you bring your flesh under control and then when you say, ‘Body, you get in line,’
it'll say, ‘Yes, Sir!’ because you have humbled it; you have brought it under
control. So that's how you deal with that kind of unbelief. And I don't think most
people do this near enough.

(30:00):
Amen. So, another question for you, Andrew. I know, just in mentioning, being
able to see something beyond what you normally would see with your natural
eyes, how important is it for us to see ourselves as, according to the Word?
According to God's declaration over us?

(30:16):
Well, this, I know you know the answer to this, but this is what changed my life.
Because man, I had an experience with the Lord, March the 23rd, 1968. And I had
been taught that I was unworthy and stuff. And so, I knew that, and God showed
up. Just showed me what a religious hypocrite I was, and I confessed it and I was
expecting Him to kill me. And instead of Him rejecting me, I had this supernatural
love come over me for four and a half months. (Amen) I was consumed, and it
was wonderful, but it didn't last, it wore off. And when it wore off, I struggled
because I couldn't live without it; I'd become addicted to it. And yet I didn't know
how to get back to that place. And I couldn't under... the biggest problem was I
couldn't understand how a holy God... and I had seen his glory... I couldn't
understand how he could love me. (Yeah)

(31:13):
© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.
Because I wasn't lovely. (Yeah) And man, I was struggling. And so, to your point,
the Lord showed me what I call spirit, soul and body. He showed me who I was in
Christ. (Amen) And when I began to see that and, and see, I'd only known myself
by the person in the mirror. (Yeah) I could see my body. I could feel my body. And
I knew that there was an emotional inner part, and I could feel that. And I was in
touch with what the Bible calls my soul, but I had no clue about who I was in the
spirit. And when the Lord showed me, I was a new creature, and old things had
passed away and I had the same power that raised Christ from the dead... I had
the same faith that Jesus had... I had love, joy and peace. And when I began to
see that, that was just like breaking a dam and all of a sudden, all of this life of
God that was on the inside of me began to flow out. (Amen) So it's essential
that you find out who you are.

(32:16):
Amen. That's good.

(32:17):
Absolutely.

(32:18):
What happens when people face disappointment? They’re believing, they're
standing for healing, they're sitting for a family member for healing. They're trying
to confess the word. They're trying to, you know, take care of the doubt and
unbelief in their heart, trying to grow their faith, but it's just taking so long and
then they start to get bitter and hardhearted. How does a person avoid that?

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

(32:42):
I believe that that's the reason Jesus asked that father of the boy who is demon
possessed, ‘How long has it been since he's had this?’ And it's, it doesn't take any
more power of God to heal some things than others. But if you've had something
a long time, or if you have prayed and you've been disappointed, and you aren't
seeing things happen, it doesn't take any more power of God to heal cancer than
it takes to heal a cold. But if you have different levels of feeling and unbelief
about it, that's what the hindrance is. It's, it's the way you are in your mind. And
when people have prayed for something for a long time and have been
disappointed, the scripture says over in Proverbs 13:12, hope deferred makes the
heart sick. And if you have prayed for some, or if you say, for instance, know of
other people who prayed for healing and they went ahead and died or they're still
in their wheelchair or whatever, those kinds of things will just make you... it'll
overwhelm you and it'll hinder your faith from working.

(33:46):
I know that this is, I've had to deal with this, not personally, because I've seen God
supernaturally supply my need and heal me. But when I pray for other people and
you don't see things happen, it's discouraging. (Yeah) And you, you come up with
unbelief about why did this happen? And matter of fact, I talked to oral Roberts
about this just a couple of months before he died. And, and he said that this was
the biggest problem he ever dealt with, was he would pray and see hundreds of
people healed, but the ones who didn't get healed, that's what just really, really
bothered him. And he was, he was close to just literally quitting because he didn't
see every person healed. And the Lord told him, he says, ‘Well, if you quit, then
you won't see anybody healed.’ If you continue on, you may see, you know, some
healed and some not healed, but you won't see any healed if you quit. (That's
good)

(34:41):

And, and so the scripture says in Romans 3:4, let God be true and every man a liar.
(Amen) And so I've come to a place where I could say dozens of reasons why
people aren't healed. And I hadn't got time to talk about them here, but I don't
think I understand every reason (Yeah) why people aren't healed. And so here,
I've just made a decision that I'm not gonna let what I don't know stop me from
doing what I do know. (That's good) And I do know that the Word of God teaches
its God's will. (Amen) And so I've come to a place that if I pray for a person and if
they fall over dead, I'm gonna step over him and say next. (Amen)

(35:37):
And I've not done that with, with death, but there was a thing in Ireland where I
preached on how you can make the healing power of God manifest...[how] it's
not up to God, It's up to you. God's already done his part. It's us that's the
problem. And so, I was teaching on what to do when your prayers seem
unanswered. And I had a boy come up who was totally deaf. And I prayed for him
and commanded his ears to open and not a thing happened. And I prayed with
him for 10 or 15 minutes. And there were hundreds of people just waiting. And I
did everything I knew how to do, and I just never saw his ears open. And so finally
I said, look, I don't know what the problem is, but it's not God. It's either me or it's
him. It's us. It's something. And I said, who's next? And two girls came up, twins,
and they were both blind. Blind from birth. And I found out later it was actually
that boy's sisters. (Wow)

(36:25):
And so, they came up for prayer and I thought, boy, Lord, if, if we don't see a
manifestation here, this is gonna be a short meeting. It's over <laugh>. And so,
anyway, I prayed for them. And as soon as I prayed for them, boom, their eyes
were open. (Wow) And they saw for the first time! And their mother was at the
back of the auditorium, and she started crying and jumping up and down and
clapping her hands. And I asked, who's that? And they said, that's their mother.
And I turned them around and I said, let me introduce you to your mother. The

first time they'd ever seen, they were about 19 years old. (Wow) (Wow) And boy,
the meeting was on <laugh>. And so, my point is, I didn't see that boy healed. Not
because it was God's will, or it was either my fault or his fault or who knows what
it was, but I just kept standing on what the word says and saw the next people
healed. And the grandmother of that boy and those two girls, she brought 13
members of her family down and she says, we will all accept the Lord. They were
all Catholics in Ireland. And she made them all pray the prayer, whether they
meant it or not. I don't know. But boy, she was impressed.

(37:32):
That's awesome.

(37:33):
It was awesome.

Mike Pickett (37:33):

I've also heard people say sometimes that, yes, God doesn't make people sick, but
God does control the devil and he'll send the devil out and he'll, he'll loose the
devil on people as well. What do you have to say? What would you say about
that?

(37:48):
Well, I heard that teaching, and this is before I was married, and I was actually
engaged to a girl, and I brought that teaching home. A guy taught that Satan is
God's messenger boy and gave an example of a boy who wanted to live for God.
But he was just so introverted that he couldn't do it. And so, he prayed and asked
God to give him leukemia. And the next morning he woke up with leukemia.
© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.
(Wow) And he was a witness to all of his football buddies. He died and at his
funeral, four people were born again. So, I brought that teaching home and
shared it with this girl. And she prayed that same prayer. And the next morning
came down with leukemia. And it was because they were teaching that Satan is
God's messenger boy, and God uses Satan and stuff.

(38:33):
And anyway, she died. I got an emergency leave from Vietnam and came home
and was with her when she died. And I tell you prayers like that loose the devil.
(Yeah) Not God. God does not use the devil like that. If people really believe, you
know, they might say, well, this cancer is demonic, but God allowed it. God is the
one who controls everything. If you believe that, then don't go to the doctor and
don't take medication or treatments cuz you'd be getting outta God's will. (That's
right) (Yeah) That's just crazy. Again, it goes back to child abuse. (Yeah) If that's
the way that God teaches us and He sics a mad curred dog on us to teach us
something that would be child abuse. (Amen) He doesn't do that. God is a good
God. He only gives good and perfect gifts.

(39:20):
If it's good. It's from God. If it's bad, it's from the devil. (Amen) And sickness is
bad. (Amen) You can turn over to Deuteronomy chapter 28 and verses one
through 14 lists blessings; verses 15 through 68 lists curses. (Yep) And sickness is a
curse. Health is a blessing. And so that right there just explains anybody who says
that sickness is somehow or another good has missed it. (That's right) Now I will
say this. I can think of one person. I'm not gonna call their name, but they are
quadriplegic. And they say that God did this to 'em and they're on radio. And they,
they lead people to the Lord and they say that God made 'em this way because
they weren't seeking God. They weren't serving God. And when they had this
accident, that's what brought them to the Lord. And so, they give God the credit
for making them quadriplegic.

(40:10):
But what actually happened is, this girl jumped off of a rock, into a shallow pool
that had a sign, no diving. And she violated everything and hit the ground, broke
her neck and stuff. God didn't do that to her. But he used it because when she
was lying flat on her back, all of a sudden, she got serious about God. And so now
she's showing people that you can still love God and have problems and stuff, and
God uses her, but God did not cause it. And again, if you believe that, it makes
you passive. (Yeah) You will not go out and take the healing. You cannot be
violently resolved as Matthew talks about. And it makes you passive and Satan
loves passivity.

(40:55):
Now you've seen so many miracles and in your time of ministry and in your time
of ministering to people. So, what did it take for you to get to that journey? Was it
just something that you have a special anointing for? A special calling? Gift?
Because people talk about the gift of healing and the gift of faith. Do you feel that
that is what you have?

(41:19):
I don't believe I have a gift of faith or the gift of healing or the gift of miracles. I'm
just operating as, as Joe blow believer <laugh> and in my own personal life, I saw
healing and I don't know, I was drawn towards it. And I just started standing. I
remember having flu-like symptoms, and rather than go to bed and indulge it...
You know, one of the things that says you resist the devil... and lying in bed and
having somebody, you know, rub your fevered brow and pop pills is not resisting
the devil. So, I remember this is right after Jamie and I got married. I stayed up all
night long and I was so sick that I couldn't stand straight up. And I was so sleepy

that I would fall asleep if I laid down. So, I got on a hardwood floor on my hands
and knees, so I wouldn't go to sleep.

(42:10):
And I had my Bible open and I was looking up scriptures. And for eight hours, I
pushed that Bible around on the floor with my nose, quoting ‘by His stripes I'm
healed,’ fighting this thing. That's awesome. And I don't think you have to do that,
but that's what I had to do to overcome my unbelief. (Right) And when I came,
got up in the morning, I was totally well, and that just brought me to a new level.
(Yeah) And many people are, again, not taking any initiative, any authority and
they just passively ask God, and then they just sit there and wait on God to heal
them. If you took that approach to forgiveness of sin, you'd never get saved.
(Amen) So you have to be aggressive. (Amen)

(42:52):
Well, you know actually, our time's already up. I'll tell you guys, Andrew has so
much on healing. It's absolutely powerful. What would you say to someone who is
saying, I want to, I wanna be healed? What's my first step?

(43:08):
Well, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So, faith is an
integral part of it. Psalms 107:20 says He sent His Word and healed them and
delivered them from all of their destruction. Right? Proverbs chapter four verse 22
says the Word of God is health unto all of your flesh and life to them that find it
(Proverbs 4:22) and on and on and on, I could go quoting it. So, the Word of God
is absolutely essential for your faith. And for your knowledge, it says, you shall
know the truth and the truth will make you free. But it's only the truth [that] you
know, that makes you free. (Yeah) So if you aren't just saturated with the word
of God, well then, you're gonna be saturated with the thinking of this world.
© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.
And I guarantee you, the world's sick and they don't, they don't see healings and
stuff. So, you're gonna have to literally get into the word of God. And that's the
reason we have all these materials (yeah) and stuff available. And on our website,
we have, what, 200,000 hours of free materials.

(44:11):
And then we have our prayer ministers. And this is one, I think, that is when
people are in unbelief. One of the ways to start moving towards not... obviously
being in the Word... but not only trying to just do it yourself but coming alongside
people who can share and teach with you and then agree and speak life over you.
So, our prayer line is something I'm gonna encourage you to reach out to and
receive prayer: (719) 635-1111.

(44:40):
Of course, we also have Charis Bible college, which, the foundational principle
there is to grow people up in their faith so they don't need anybody else. They
just rely upon the Word. (Yeah)

(44:49):
You know, we're all at different places. And so, if you're at a place where man,
this is totally brand new and you just feel like I hadn't got the faith to do it on my
[own], well, then you call and you get prayer. You come to the Bible college and
learn. But ultimately you need to just get to where you can believe God and
receive and not only think about just yourself, but you need to be able to minister
to other people. (Yeah) And you can't do that unless you really have a good
revelation...

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

(45:15):
Yeah, and I'll just say this. So, when I, one of the things I've seen with sickness is
when someone is sick, it just pulls all their energy, all their focus, their future... It's
like you build your whole life around sickness. And that is why the enemy uses
sickness so much against, not just believers, but I just think in the world...

(45:34):
It defines... people can allow it to define who they are.

(45:38):
It starts to become their identity, (Yeah) and where your finances go and
everything is, is, is heading...

(45:44):
They think sick, they plan their vacation sick, take all their meds with them and
plan around the allergy, seasons, whatever and stuff. And when your whole life
revolves around sickness, you aren't in faith.

(45:55):
Well, I believe that you are watching this because God has something better for
you. He's saying, He has this life of healing and power. And we just talked about
some, even just the beginning, basic stuff. And we want to invite you to our next
episode of our healing masterclass, where we're gonna share even more basics.
Mike and I are gonna share some really important things with you that really
changed, honestly, our lives when it came to healing, because it wasn't just that

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

God provided it and He always wanted to heal. It was who He was, who He was
within us as healing. And you know, many times people will struggle with
thinking, well, you don't know who I am and what I've done. So, I'm not worthy of
being healed. I, I kind of deserve this sickness and I'll tell you right now, we're
gonna, we're gonna break that and tell you why healing is for you is because you
are loved of God.

(46:46):
So, we're just gonna, invite you to come to that. It's gonna be super powerful.
Also, as you've listened to this and you've been blessed, I would like you to let us
know what kind of revelation that you learned with Andrew sharing today and
reach out to us, share your questions, share your feedback with us. And then we
have a couple of downloads. If you look down the same page that you're
watching, we have some downloads of all the scriptures that Andrew mentioned
today. Plus, we have this free download. Can you share about your health
confession? This is something that we have special for you that Andrew put
together and it's some scriptures, but tell us what this health confession is and
why it's so powerful.

(47:24):
Well, I was teaching on healing, and I've read other people's health confession.
And I don't know, I just felt inspired to write out some things that if you could say
this and believe it from your heart, it says you have to confess with your mouth
and believe in your heart. It's not magic, but if you can believe it and say it,
healing is voice activated, then it's really powerful. So, you want me to take time
to read all of this or just,

(47:51):

© Andrew Wommack Ministries, Inc.

Well, maybe give us three or four as a teaser. Because if you just go down on the
same page that you're watching, hit that link... you're gonna be able to download
this and it's gonna be powerful. So, you'll wanna do this.

(48:01):
I am already healed by the stripes of Jesus. I already have the same power inside
of me that raised Jesus from the dead. See again, some people will say I have this
power, but they mean, what they mean is I have access to this power. It's not
working now, but I could get it. No, but I, you have to say, I already have this same
power. I have the authority to use this power. Death and life are in the power of
my tongue. So, I dwell under the shadow of the almighty and say, He is my refuge.
That’s Psalms 91:2. And you have to speak it. It's voice activated. So anyway,
these are just some of those great confessions and some of it'll be revelation to
people if they really don't know what the Word says, they and each one of these
confessions has a scripture with it to show you where the foundation for it is.

(48:48):
And that's, that's so important because I know if, if people don't know the Word,
they don't know how to use the sword. When the enemy comes with all these
lies, it's the Word that's the truth. And that's what, man that drives out the devil.
(Yeah) Amen. (Amen) Well, we wanna thank you for watching. I am so excited
about this next video that we're going to be sharing with you guys. So, keep an
eye open for our second episode of our healing masterclass and the things that
God has prepared for you. So, God bless you and don't forget to do those
downloads because you'll be super blessed (Amen) by these confessions and
scriptures. So, God bless you. Thank you and have a great day.

(49:25):
Amen.
