Hygge (hue-gah)
This is a Scandinavian way of life. It can help us to relax, feel cosy and slow down.
There are lots of different things you can do to put some hygge in your life.
You can change the light in a room so it’s not bright. Lots of small
lights and candles can make the space feel relaxed and the candles
smell nice, too.
Turn off all devices some time before bed, including laptops, mobiles
phones and cameras. A digital break is important and can help you
to focus better on life. A digital break before bed will also relax your mind and
help you sleep. We are always distracted by technology, so it’s a good idea to
read a book (not on an e-reader) or try another hobby. It’s also a good idea
to write comments about your day, about what was nice and made you smile.
But write comments in a notebook and not on your laptop.
These comments can help you feel happy.
Get comfortable. Now relax.
