QLASSIC Quality Assessment Course
QLASSIC Quality Assessment Course
❑ Assessment components (Architectural Works, External Works and Basic M&E Fittings)
4. One-time assessment
❑ no re-scoring of works that are rectified or repaired after the assessment
❑ to encourage industry players particularly the builders/ contractors to “do it right the first time
and every time”.
CONSTRUCTION
INDUSTRY
STANDARD
(CIS 7:2014)
Quality Assessment
System for Building
Construction Work
CIS 7 - BACKGROUND
❑ Developed in 2006 through consensus by technical committees which comprise balanced
representation of industry stakeholders
❑ The requirements of this standard can be integrated into a Quality Management System
(QMS) ISO 9001 requirement by setting a minimum QLASSIC Score (%) as a quality
objective
❑ The requirements of this standard can also be used compatibly with the inspection
checklist (ICL) under a QMS ISO 9001 requirement
CIS 7 - SCOPE
❑ The requirements specified in this standard are:
❑ procedures to conduct assessment
❑ quality standards (workmanship standard, tolerance and assessment tool).

CORRECT USE OF
AW ASSESSMENT
TOOL
Inspect for hollowness on wall or floor using a
QLASSIC tapping rod and
inspect for lippage between tiles on the floor or wall
(tolerance < 1mm).
CORRECT USE OF
AW ASSESSMENT
TOOL
inspect the paintwork or damages on top
and bottom of door leaf using an angle
mirror.
CORRECT USE OF
AW ASSESSMENT
TOOL
Check evenness of wall or floor
surface using a spirit level.
CORRECT USE steel wedge
OF AW
ASSESSMENT
TOOL
Measure gap between wall and
spirit level using a steel wedge
spirit level
(tolerance <3mm/ 1.2m).
CORRECT USE
OF AW
ASSESSMENT
TOOL
Check floor of wet areas to proper
fall using a spirit level.
CORRECT USE OF
AW ASSESSMENT
TOOL
Use an L-square and a steel wedge to
measure if wall meet at right angle :
(tolerance <4mm over 300mm).
