 I. PRELIMINARIES
INTRODUCTION
Teaching internship is the final requirements that you will undergo as a college
student taking education, it will determine if the students will be graduating. Through
this teaching internship, the students will see and experience the real world in the field
of teaching which also they can learn more and become more familiar in the path that
he/she is pursuing. This experience will be challenging but there also a lot more skills
that you can have or learn once you’re in the field, like in life, creativity, leadership,
communication, collaboration and etc.

As, I myself experienced this practice teaching internship, I could say that it is
not easy because there is a lot more to learn and experience but also it gives me a lot
of knowledge, motivation and skills that I can use when I become a teacher in the
future. Through this journey, it’s not only the skills I’ve got to learn, I also learn more
about myself in a way that I can tell where I am good and where I should improve in
terms of teaching and handling the students. It also a fun and great memories that I
will cherish for the rest of my life as I meet and learned about all my students, I got to
know about them as a student and as a person. They will also be the biggest reason
why leaving the school and ending my internship is hard, for the reason that I got to
spend a lot of time being their teacher, being in front of them teaching, having fun and
also getting angry.

This portfolio will tell more about the stories behind my experience in the field
of teaching, how I started and how I finished my 360 hours in Sta. Maria National
High School.

 II. COOPERATING SCHOOL
PREMISES
The pictures that you will see at the bottom of this text is the premises of my
cooperating school where I did my teaching internship, it is the Sta. Maria National
High School located in Bagbaguin Santa Maria, Bulacan.

• Covered court, this is located in front of the flag pole of our national flag,
when you enter the school and turn right you’ll see this court. This place is
where they conduct most of the event of the school and also where the flag
ceremony happens.
• The second picture is the food laboratory, students is not allowed inside
without the permission of the teachers, it is where they test the students if they
are healthy.

• Electric Laboratory, these is the room where used to some of subjects that need
to use electronics device or tools.

• The clinic is located at the 1st floor in the first building you will see on your
right side. Ofcourse this room is so essential to the school, students and also
teachers specially this summer that many students having a hard time because
of the heat.
• Waiting Area where the parents and guest wait for their child or the person
they want talk to. Also it is a students waiting area after the class, so their
service will see them immediately.

• The guard House, located in front of the school, beside the gate. There are the
one who guard the gate for students not to go outside during school hours and
to have a protection inside the school.
• Garden, it is located at theback of the building beside the canteen.
• These Facilities/Room that you will see at the bottom of this text is the most
important office that every school should have, as you can see the first photo is
a bulletin board of all the teachers working there, the second p[icture is the
building where these offices is located. When you enter the gate of the school
it is the first building you’ll see. There’s the principal office,
registrar,headsoffice, conference room, coordinators and finance office.

• Canteen, also one of the most important place where students can have their
break, eat snacks and lunch for them to have an energy and not get sick. This
canteen is located at the back of the covered court.

 • The math garden which is located at the fron of the covered court beside the
comfort room, these math garden is where the students can enjoy their break
time with their classmates and friends. You can play chess if you want cause
there are some tables that have a chess board.

HISTORY OF COOPERATING SCHOOL
This is the history of Sta. Maria National High School, Regarding when and
how they started.
➢ According to Republic Act no. 8397, An act establing an agro-industrial high
school in the municipality of Sta. Maria, province of Bulacan, to be known as
the Sta. Maria Agro-Industrial High School, and appropriating funds therefor.
Date of Approval: November 22, 1997
➢ Then, according to the Republict Act no.10440, An act changing the name of
Sta. Maria Agro-Industrial High School in the municipality of Sta. Maria,
Province of Bulacan to Sta. Maria National High School, amending for the
purpose Republic act no. 8397. Date of Approval: April 8,2013.

REFLECTION ON THE COOPERATING SCHOOL
School should be our second home. This place is where we gather knowledge,
see our potential in different fields and also expand our knowing about values, what is
right and wrong. School should give us power to say our opinions and to let us be
ourself but of course it wouldn’t be possible without the help of people behind the
success of the students, There should be a teachers who worked hard to give students
a good learnings that they can hold for the rest of their lives and the staff who worked
hard to protect and give the needs of the students having a good and friendly
environment when they are in school. This what I pictured out on what should school
be.
I got to be in that kind of school that I am so proud to be part of my current
school, Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation,INC. which show me and help me to
become who I am and where I am now. They teach me so much more that I can keep
for the rest of my life they make me feel at home which my standard to a school
become high and I thought I could not see some other school that treat their students
as a family.
And then I got a chance to be part of sta. Maria National High School not just a
studen but a teacher who is practicing to become more efficient educator and even
though I am not a students their I saw how the teachers teach their students very well,
I saw how they treat others including me with so much respect, they don’t treat as just
a student-teacher. I saw how the staff take care of the students, if they need or you
need something you can easily ask and also just like the teachers they respect us so
much like a teacher who is working there.
My journey isn’t easy because of the task I am carrying, teaching is so hard
that as a teacher you need to give your best, you cannot be tired in front of them. It is
not easy because the work of a teacher is not easy itself even after the class teachers
do lot of things. Lesson plan, grades, quiz, exam and etc. so seeing the teachers work
there I got to respect them more buit because of the people around me that guiding me
in that school the SMNHS it got more tolerable. To the students of SMNHS well of
course it will not be easy to handle them as they have different personalities but I can
see the respect they gave me once I stand in front of the not a just some student but a
teacher, they make my teaching internship more fun, they let out some emotions in me
that I didn’t know I have. I just want to thank them for treating me as their family.

MATERIALS
I just used the books and module throughout my teaching in SMNHS and also
the blackboard, it’s more convenient for the students and us teachers. It is also more
efficient because it has a lot of information you need. It also gave a student
willingness to read and learn their next topic or to advance their study. And my topic
for the 4th grading which is Florante at Laura is in the book so I think the book is the
most important and needed thing to use, it can help you be a good reader.

people who will read his book which is the Florante at Laura, there is a certain
point there which Balagtas say that whatever happens do not change what he
write. So I ask them why we should not change anything that the author have
written in his\her own book.

➢ This tableau is their activity after I discuss the start of Florante at Laura which
they did what the forest look like where the protagonist, Florante tied up in a
tree called “higera”. They act as Florante being tied up, and also the other big
trees that surround on Florante and also the animals that is in the forest.

➢ Post conference after the demonstration, I got nervous but I learned a lot,
knowing what to improve.

 V. OVERALL REFLECTION

A teacher, their job is to educate or teach students in school, they are the one
who’s capable of giving knowledge to their students, they study just to share the
knowledge they learned. The inspire their students to be a better citizen, they motivate
them to study for them to achieve their dreams. They will not just give you knowledge
about the subject matter but also a knowledge about life, how can you see and live in
a world with kindness and be a good person. They will be your source of all the things
you needed to know growing up when you are in school, that’s why I say school is
our second home.
I want to be a teacher like that, I want to give my students a learnings they can
hold for the rest of their life and the moment they need it, they will remembered me
saying, “Ma’am Jojie taught this to me”. I want to treat them as my family when they
are in school, in my class like they can be themselves. And I know I should work for
it so in the future I can be like that.
That is why I am so grateful for this teaching internship, I know I have long
way to go to be a very good teacher but this experience taught me a lot. How can I
handle students, how to approach them, how I should give them a lesson that they can
understand easily, how to handle my time so I can give myself a break so that when I
am in front of the I can give everything and so much more.
This journey is not easy for me, it challenge me how to handle my life/self
when I am in my home and when I am in school. I never thought I would have a
problem that make me feel tired going on, but I am so thankful because when I am in
school I forgot all of it, instead it makes me forget all my problems, thanks to my
students who makes me happy because I can see how important I am to them,
respecting me as their teacher. To my critic teacher who supports me and understand
me, to my co-st that never leave my side and to the school who makes me feel at
home, SMNHS.
It’s a roller coaster ride, but one thing for sure this is a journey I would never
forget and be a lesson for me to become a more better and efficient teacher.
