1. Install rocker arms and shaft (2) with Tooling (A).


Note: Install rocker arms and shaft (2) with the flat side facing upward.

Note: Apply clean engine oil to the underside of the bolt heads prior to installation.

2. Install bolts (1) and tighten to a torque of 55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft). Turn bolts (1) for an additional 60 ±
5 degrees. Tighten the bolts in the following sequence: 2, 3, 1, 4.

3. Adjust the valve lash for the inlet valves and the exhaust valves. Refer to Testing and Adjusting,
"Engine Valve Lash - Inspect/Adjust".

4. Adjust the electronic unit injectors. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Unit Injector - Adjust".

a. Install the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover -
Remove and Install".
