Students will learn health and safety practices, anatomy, and massage skills without assessments. The course provides an overview of a Certificate in Massage Therapy but does not qualify participants as professional massage therapists. Classes meet Wednesday evenings in October at the Armidale TAFE campus for 2.5 hours each session.

Massage for Friends and Family

This course is an introduction into basic massage techniques which may be used at home on family and friends for relaxation and enjoyment. The course is designed to be a fun and interesting way to learn about massage. You will learn some of the basic health and safety matters surrounding massage, along with some helpful anatomy information. There are no assessments or tests but this course is a wonderful taste of the skills and knowledge that would be in Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice. If you feel you may not be comfortable learning new massage techniques on other students in the course then perhaps you could enrol with a friend and you can learn together.
It should be noted that the course does not enable participants to call themselves massage therapists or set themselves up in business as a massage therapist.
