2
BULLETPROOF principles
1. Choose one thing at a time and chase it with your whole heart
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, especially with work, home or otherwise, I
simply take a step back and assess the situation.
I then choose the one task that will have the biggest bang for its buck, the
biggest impact and I work on that.
Projects can be broken down into tasks and achieved one at a time with
excellence.
When I implement this principle, I have immediate clarity, and I’m no longer
overwhelmed by the tasks before me.
2. Take relentless action
If nothing changes, nothing changes.
This is so obvious, yet so many people expect change without ever taking any
action.
This is something I struggled with for many years. Procrastination.
Yet, as they say, procrastination is like masturbation, you're just left with a big
mess and the realization that you've just fucked yourself.
Take relentless action, which simply means acting every single day.
I meditate every day. I write every day. I practice gratitude every day. I write
one thing I am excited about every day. I work on my number one goal every
day. This LAW combined with the law of ATTRACTION is a UNIVERSAL principle.
If you implement this principle, you WILL see massive progress in your life.
3. Practice consistency over intensity
"Action is what gets you started, and intensity has its place, but consistency is
the holy grail." ~ Brian Pennie
Another of my epic struggles. All my life I have attacked things with vigour and
intensity. Then, if I see no result, I slow down, often stop only to fire it up again
when I get re-motivated.
But anything worthwhile must be tended to on a consistent basis. Health,
fitness, personal development, relationships, business.
Only through persistent effort will you see growth in any area.
As they say...it takes years to be an overnight sensation.
4. Fan your flames, nurse the coals
I have forever suffered from shiny object syndrome. The latest device. The
newest gimmick. The latest fad. Diet. Exercise program. Forever exciting, but
this has led me to ignore other aspects of my life. The goal of life is balance.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
For example, I often used to get immersed in watching tv series on Netflix.
Often at the expense of other areas. To stop this from happening, I assess each
area of my life. This includes relationships, career, mind, health, spiritual,
learning and finance. If I’m ignoring one of these areas, it usually shows up
with some symptom or other. Enabling me to assess and place some extra focus
into the area that is lacking. In other words, I try give each area enough time
to ensure I have something resembling balance in my life.
5. Seek negative feedback
Be open to criticism, but don’t be affected by it. I'm going to stick my hand up
and say, "Not a fan!"
However, some things, whilst unpleasant are not necessarily bad for us. Every
now and then if I am stuck with a certain idea, I will ask either my staff around
me, or management...
"Hey, can you see anything I'm missing?"
"What would you do in this situation?"
So, technically, this isn't negative. But it can be constructive. Just be prepared
for brutal honesty. Criticism isn’t meant to hurt us, it’s there to make us better.
Stay above it. Learn from it.
6. Play the long game
Very few people are good to go straight away. Whether that be sales or in
relationships. Think about it. Not often do you hear of love and marriage at
first sight. There's a period of courtship, friendship before moving into the
relationship. Take it easy. Be patient. It's the long game
7. Live everyday as though you believe in magic and miracles
"There are only 2 ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other, that everything is." Albert Einstein
As a young man I was a clown for one of the churches I attended. Orange hair,
Big red shoes, Bike horn, 30 metres of handkerchief...you name it. The only
time I ever had trouble with children was the very early teens. Boys that were
10 or 11 years old. About the time you find out there's no Santa. It was almost
as if that very act of taking away magic and mystery instilled in them a sense of
anger at anything that was magical and fun. Believe in magic. Believe that
everything around you is a miracle. Find that sense of joy in the mystery. Search
for wonder.
8. Question your thoughts
In times of uncertainty, question your thoughts.
In times of certainty, question your thoughts.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
Question your thoughts.
All is perception and opinion. It is your thoughts about a situation that bring
you pain. Which you can rid yourself of by examining your thoughts. Striving
for the right view while repressing ego mind and animal instincts
As Byron Katie from The Work says ([Link])
1. Is it true?
2. Can you know with absolute certainty that it is true?
3. Who are you when you believe that thought?
4. Who are you without that thought?
5. Turn the thought around.
It’s easy to get fixated on a single viewpoint, so this principle provides me with
an alternative perspective when I feel stuck. Write them down. Thoughts in
your mind are snakes that slither through your fingers. Unable to be pinned
down. The ego will change them as you try to hold onto them. Write them
down. The very act of writing them solidifies them into a concrete entity that
can be analysed and critiqued. There’s no backing away from the written word.
9. Every day is a new day.
So much of our lives have been lost to “Do you have any idea what they did to
me?” or “This happened” or “That happened”. Let go of your unhappy past.
Don’t be held back by what happened yesterday, last week, last month, last
year. And so, on and so forth.
It’s over. The only pain left is the meaning we attach to our thoughts. *(See
number 9, Byron Katie).
10. Be true to yourself.
Stop trying to please other people or be someone that you’re not. The
Japanese say that a man has three faces. One you show the world. One you
show to those close to you. And one you only show yourself. I believe that
when you do this, you are not acting true to you and this will cause anxiety and
stress and bring about a series of events that will show the true you anyway.
Just be you.
“It’s better to be an original version of yourself than an exact duplicate of
someone else.” Judy Garland, I think…
11. Quit complaining.
Watch how you speak. Sometimes we encounter problems and yes, we talk
about them. But just be aware. Once you’ve discussed the same problem
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
more than twice and haven’t fixed it…it basically means that you are now the
problem. Not the original problem.
Stop complaining about your problems and work on them instead.
(I seriously need to listen to this one more…)
13. Don’t think “what if”, think “next time”.
So many times, we sit and go “Why did we take that job?”, “Why did we buy
that house?”, “Why did we buy that business?”
Stop! You already did it. You did it for the reasons, training and beliefs you had
at the time. Unless you’re an asshole and I suggest you fix that first, you did
the best you could with the tools you had bringing you exactly where you need
to be ‘right now’. Stop focussing on things you can’t change or things that
bring you unhappiness, because these are disempowering. Instead focus on
the things that you can act on. What can I do next? What can I do better?
2000 years ago, Epictetus said “Do you have a problem in your life? No? Don’t
worry. Yes? Can you do something about it? Yes? Don’t worry. No? Don’t
worry.
Don’t worry.
14. What, Why, lesson, apply!
Focus on WHAT the problem truly is, then focus on why it is a problem. What
is the lesson? What is it that you need to learn? Once you’ve done that…APPLY
the lesson!
15. Create your own opportunities.
You can wait for opportunities to just happen in life. Or, you can go out there
and create your own. Don’t focus on the how. Anything is possible, if you set
your heart, soul and mind to it.
16. Live more consciously each day.
Stop sleepwalking through life. Your life is something to be experienced, not
coasted through. Plan. Schedule. Take control. Are you an explorer, blazing a
trail? Or are you a hamster on the wheel of life. You have the life that you are
willing to put up with.
17. Be committed to your growth.
I wanted to say an analogy of water here. Water that stays in the same place
seems tranquil. Calm. But over time, the water becomes stagnant. Starts to
smell. Algae starts to grow and take over. Life dies and things start to rot.
Water needs fresh input. Movement. Something must happen to keep the
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
water fresh. In so many ways we are the same. Same beliefs. Same thinking.
Same reactions. Same old Same old.
In the woo woo realm, turns out there’s a map of consciousness. (Hey, I just
found it, I’m down with the brain algae if you prefer…)
In the Map of Consciousness, there are 17 levels of consciousness – from
Shame to Enlightenment. The higher level of consciousness you are in, the
richer your life experience. Achieving higher consciousness comes from your
commitment to growth.
A hell of a mouthful, but it’s true. If you aren’t growing, you aren’t changing.
18. Discover your life purpose.
Do you remember that sentence from every relative you ever caught up with
growing up? “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
I’m still asking myself that question. What am I? What do I want to do?
Remember that figure? 75% of all workers hate what they do. They hate their
life’s work. Create the mission statement for your life; one that will drive you
to live your life to the fullest.
19. Live in alignment with your purpose.
What can you start doing immediately that will let you live 100% in alignment
with your purpose? How can you live true to your purpose within every
context/situation/environment you are in, every second of the day?
20. Set your life commandments.
Define your personal commandments to live your best life. What guidelines
and principles do you want to follow in your life?
21. Discover your values.
Values are the essence of what makes you, you.
22. Hold yourself to the highest conduct.
Every one of us have our own set of ethics, principles and moral codes. Live
true to them every day. Also, live in full alignment with your purpose (#19),
commandments (#20) and values (#21).
23. Design your ideal life.
What is your ideal life? Design it. First, assess your life now. Use the list
provided. Give yourself a mark out of 10. Then, ask yourself what it takes to
live a 10/10 life (in all 10 areas – career, health, love, social, etc…). What is the
life that will make you the best person you can ever be? Set goals. There are
no limits in life – only those you set for yourself!
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
24. Stop putting life on hold.
Are you putting any parts of your life on hold? What’s one area of your life you
have been putting off/avoiding/denying? Uncover it and start working on it.
Trust me, nothing gets solved by being an ostrich with your head in the sand.
(This goes for me too).
25. Create your life handbook.
Your life handbook is your life-long personal manual to live your best life –
from your mission statement, your values, your long-term goals, short-term
goals, personal strengths, blind spots to address, plans, among others. Create
your book first then build on from there.
26. Set your goals.
After you design your ideal life (#23), set your 5-year, 3-year and 1-year goals.
The more specific your goals, the better!
27. Act on your goals and dreams.
Create an action plan with your strategy, plan and your immediate next steps.
28. Create your bucket list
Things to do before you die. Then, put a plan in motion to achieve them.
29. Don’t do things for the sake of doing them.
Always evaluate what you’re doing and only do it if there is meaning behind it.
Don’t be afraid to quit the things that don’t serve your path.
30. Do the things you love
Life is too precious to spend it doing anything else. If you don’t enjoy
something, then don’t do it. Spend your time and energy on things that bring
you fulfillment and happiness.
31. Discover your passion in life.
What sets you on fire? Go out there (and explore inward) to know what you
love to do.
32. Make your passion a full-fledged career.
It is said that when a man loves what he does, he will never work a day in his
whole life. So, find what sets you on fire. What is it you love to do? Then, once
you’ve found it, pursue it. Stop working in a job you hate. Quit your job when
you are ready to do it full-time.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
33. Turn your passion into a huge success.
Find a way to monetize your passion. Turn it into a multi-million-dollar
business. Better yet, make it a multi-billion dollar one. Anything is possible, it’s
just logistics and scale.
34. Be positive.
Is the glass half empty or half full? How about neither? It’s actually all-full – the
bottom half is water; the top half is air. It’s all a matter of perception. Take on
empowering perceptions, not those that bind you. If you can see the positive
sides of everything, you’ll be able to live a much richer life than others. Purge
unnecessary negativity from your life.
35. Don’t badmouth other people.
If there’s anything you don’t like about someone, say it to him/her in the face –
otherwise, don’t say it at all. It’s not nice to do that. Something I’ve struggled
with a bit in my life…yes, I would say it to the person, but sometimes just
‘talking it out’ with others is still the same thing.
36. Be empathetic.
Look where others are coming from. Come at them from the level they are at.
Don’t expect everyone to be on the same level as you. If everyone only see life
from his/her own perspective, we’ll forever be close-minded and insular. See
things from others’ perspectives.
37. Be a compassionate person.
Show compassion and kindness to everyone around you. Not just those who
you think deserve it.
38. Develop 100% self-belief.
Believe in yourself and your abilities. Forever work on and remove your
limiting beliefs and replace them with empowering ones. If you don’t believe
in yourself, how can you expect others to believe in you?
39. Practice Forgiveness
Forgive those who may have done you wrong in the past.
Sometimes it feels impossible. Sometimes it feels like it is too much to ask.
But just be willing. You may not be able to forgive, but if you are willing, that
alone will open the door…
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and realize it was you.” – Lewis B. Smedes
40. Let go of attachments.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
Don’t fixate on status, fame, wealth or possessions. These are only temporary
and transient. They will come and go, but everyone’s grave takes up the same
amount of room. Focus on growing and living life to the fullest instead.
41. Let go of relationships that do not serve you.
That means negative people, dishonest people, people who don’t respect
you, people who are overly critical and relationships that prevent you from
growing. Be willing to walk away.
42. Spend more time with people who improve you.
Hang out with people who you compatible with, like-minded people, people
who are positive, successful, strong achievers and positive for your growth.
You are after all the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
43. Build genuine, authentic connections with people around you
Strangers, friends, family, colleagues, business partners, customers/clients,
etc. Spend more time to know them better and foster stronger connections.
In so many ways life is about connections so much more than knowledge or
certifications.
44. Connect with someone, every day.
There is no end to the number of friends you can have. Reach out to people
from the past. Reach out to people from your present. Send an appreciation
text every day. Open lines of communication. The point is to get you out of
your head.
45. Do a kind deed every day.
What is something you can do today that will make the world a better place?
46. Help other people who are in need.
What can you do for others? How are you giving value to the world? You can
start with your friends and family.
47. Help people when they least expect it, without reason.
You don’t need any reason to help others. Do it because you want to. Share
the love with everyone.
48. Go dating
Whether you are married or single, date your partner.
49. Fall in Love
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
Self-explanatory, but it’s glorious. Be in love every day. Buy them flowers,
every week. If it’s a woman, buy them something feminine every birthday
and special occasion.
50. An unexpected gift at an unexpected time
The greatest gift ever is the unexpected gift. For no reason but, just because.
An even greater gift? Make it something they will use every single day. My
daughter saw me struggle to carry my keys, wallet, kindle and phone, so
bought me a bag that held all of them…I use it frequently. My wife chooses
the coffee mug I drink from as one of the first things I do every single day. One
of my sons bought my wallet that I carry with me everywhere I go. Gifts are
powerful. Gifts with intention, beyond powerful.
51. Review your life.
Set a weekly diary review session to check how you are doing for your week,
your goals and your life. Review your purpose once every 3-6 months so you
know you’re on the right path.
52. Overcome procrastination.
Procrastination is a huge waste of your time (and your life). Get rid of it once
and for all.
53. 30 minutes a day.
Set aside at least 30 minutes every day to work on one of your goals. When
you achieve it, will bring about the biggest source of fulfillment and happiness
in your life
54. Make new friends
Get out there– whether in your workplace, online, friends’ friends, social
groups, etc. Find out how To Make New Friends.
55. Make deeper connections.
Beyond making new friends, aim to make deeper connections out of them.
56. Be your advisor (from the future).
Imagine you’re the future you, 5 years later. How would you advise yourself?
Write it down. Now, apply them.
57. Write a letter to your future self.
Write 3 letters – for yourself in 1, 3 and 5 years. The longer the letters, the
better. Envision how you’ll be like in the future. Make each letter a minimum 2
pages long. Now, seal them and put them in a safe place. Set it in your
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
calendar so you’ll know to open them when it’s time. This will inspire you to
work your hardest and achieve your maximum results in the time period.
58. Declutter.
Start from your computer, then your table, your room, your bag/wallet, and
your home. The more you throw the unwanted and old stuff away, the more
room you’re creating for new things to enter.
59. Keep learning.
There is something to learn from everything you see, hear and experience. This
includes your mistakes and past mishaps (if any). Learn to interpret each event
objectively. Focus on what you can learn from it so you can apply them moving
forward.
60. Keep developing yourself.
Equip yourself with a huge breadth of knowledge. Learn different skills, pick up
different hobbies, study different fields.
61. Keep upgrading yourself.
Equip yourself with a huge depth of knowledge. While you can usually only
level up to 99 in video games, in real life you can level up to infinity. Go for
further studies if need be. Develop your skills. Level up. Build your >10,000
hours in each skill.
62. Try new things.
What’s something you’d normally not do? Get out of your comfort zone try
something different. It can be something simple like taking a new bus route,
trying a new food item, picking up a new hobby, or something bigger like
studying a different field, picking a new skill, traveling to a country you’ll never
visit, etc. You set your own limits.
63. Get yourself out there.
This applies for everything. (a) Get out there geographically. Go out, travel and
explore the world. Set sail into the sea. Go backpacking by yourself and visit as
many countries as possible. Get on a road trip and visit the different places
that come out. (B) Get out there situationally. Stop sticking to routines and
comfort zones. Try something different. (c) Get out there in life. Stop watching
TV and living vicariously through the TV characters. Go and live the life of your
dreams.
64. Be the absolute best in what you do.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
Go for the #1 position in what you do. If you want to spend your time doing
something, you might as well be the best in it. Strive for the best – you don’t
deserve anything lesser than that.
65. Don’t settle.
In the same lines as #58, don’t settle for less. Don’t settle for someone you
don’t like as your partner. Don’t settle for a job you don’t like #25). Don’t settle
for friends who make you feel like a lesser person (#37). Don’t settle for a
weight you are unhappy with. Go for what you really want.
66. Stretch yourself.
What are you doing now? How can you achieve more? Set bigger goals.
Explore your limits and break them.
67. Embrace new ideas.
Don’t mentally limit yourself; Let your mind be a breeding ground for new
ideas.
68. Create your inspirational haven.
Turn your room into a place you love. Do the same for your work desk. Get rid
of things that make you unproductive. Surround it with things that inspire you
and trigger you to action.
69. Behave as your ideal self will.
All of us have an ideal vision of who we want to be. How is your ideal self like?
How can you start to be that ideal self now?
73. Increase your consciousness.
The more conscious you are, the more evolved you become. Kind of like having
a wake up call to the fact that there’s more to life.
70. Get a role model
With role models, you become much better than you can be by yourself.
Seeing them and what they do reminds me of what I can be and what I can do,
so they drive me on to greater heights.
71. Get mentors and/or coaches.
There’s no faster way to improve than to have someone work with you on your
goals. Not only will they drive you to achieve more for yourself, they’ll also
share with you important advice which you can use to create even more
success for yourself. Many of my clients approach me to coach them and the
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
net result: they achieve significantly more progress and results in their life than
if they had worked alone.
72. Uncover your blind spots.
The more you uncover, the more you grow, the better you become.
74. Do what it takes
Sometimes you have to do what it takes. Whether that be work or home. Big
function coming up, you just may have to pull a 15 hour day. Want to develop
your relationship, you just may have to give it that extra time.
I’ve been a chef all my life. That usually means getting home at 11pm or
midnight when everyone is asleep. I was lucky, Cass would wake up and talk to
me for a little while when I got home. In return, I would shower and get into
bed pretty much straight away. But I would wake up with her at 6am to start
our day. We would shower together and then, as she would get dressed and
put makeup on, I would prepare breakfast and coffee so we could sit together
before she had to leave. Yes, I could have gone back to bed, but usually used
that extra time to do chores, do a workout or just chill out before my day
started.
75. Work it out
All problems have a solution. You just have to find it. Edison apparently failed
at the lightbulb 1000 times. When asked about it, he said he hadn’t failed. He
just found yet another way that it didn’t work.
Failure only happen if you give up.
76. Laugh. Everyday.
One of the most healing things in the world. Laughter. Yet in our busy, busy
world we often forget to. Can go days without it. How many times have you let
out a big guffaw and thought “man, I needed that!”
77. Improvise, adapt, overcome.
Use what is available, maximize your talents, and take advantage of the things
that are provided.
“Accept what is at hand and make the best of what you have.”
Marcus Aurelius
78. If you do not go after what you want, you’ll never have it.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
As I have just been reminded, If you don’t have the drive or passion for what
you want, why would anyone else? It’s up to you. Do you want that thing? Or is
it just a “Yeah, I’d like it?”. The balls in your court.
79. If you don’t ask, the answer will always be no.
Self-explanatory really. Sometimes you just have to grab 20 seconds of
courage, pull up your big person panties and ask the question.
80. Move, every day.
You need to get that body moving. Every day. If you want to be able to move,
you need to move. If you want to be fitter, you need to move. If you want
anything more? You need to move. Look better, You need to move.
81. Listen to your body
Recovery. Everything in your body is a symptom, or notification of the result of
the things you’ve done to yourself. Literally. You need to listen. Sore? Do you
need to drink more? Stretch? Tired? Need sleep? Rest? Relaxation.
Stop and listen.
82. Generate passive income.
Create passive income streams so your income is not tied to the time you
spend on your work. Of course you’ll still continue to work, but only because
you want to and not because you have to.
83. Improve the world.
There are many things in the world that need your attention and help.
Poverty. Disaster recovery. Illiteracy. Children in need. Depleting
rainforests. Animal rescue. Endangered species. How can you do your part?
84. If you don’t step forward, you will always be in the same place.
Forward motion is everything. The world is moving forward. Life goes on.
Inflation goes up. If you are in the same place as last year, literally everything
has passed you by.
85. The past can’t be changed. Make peace with it so it doesn’t screw up the
present.
This is where we make things that happen to us into stories that define us. We
go over it and over it until it becomes who we are, instead of dealing with it,
finding the lesson, learning from it and then releasing it, letting it go.
86. Opinions don’t define your reality.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
Something I have always struggled with. Other peoples opinions. We were
always told as kids, “sticks and stones may break my bones but names will
never hurt me”. Sounds reasonable, but they do hurt, but only because we let
them. Other people have their own journey to take. You have yours. If you are
doing the best you can with what you have. Take everything people say to you
or about you with a grain of salt. Is it true? Is it false? Will it do you any good to
rally against it? Can you do something about it? If it’s a problem, run it through
the filter of Byron Katie’s ‘The Work’. But you can’t let it define you.
87. Everyone’s journey is different.
No matter where you are in your self development, people will be in front of
you, behind you, or not even trying. They may not even be ‘awake’. But your
number 1 job is to keep yourself right. Keep learning, evolving, becoming
better.
88. Things always get better with time.
Sometimes it doesn’t feel that way but they do. There’s a bible psalm that says
“yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…”
It doesn’t say “stop and build a house”. Keep walking, you’ll get through it.
89. Judgements are a confession of character.
Judging others shows more about you than it does about the other person.
Just like being judged shows more about the other than about you. Figure that
out, work on it, run it through a Byron Katie sheet if you have to, but resolve
this within yourself.
90. Stop overthinking.
Overthinking leads to sadness. Stop thinking so much, it’s okay not to have all
the answers.
91. Happiness is found within.
Sometimes this one is a tough one, especially when your life is so wrapped up
in someone else, or other people. But your number one job is to keep yourself
right, in the right space and work on you. Sometimes we have to go back to
number 87. Everyone’s journey is different. As much as we want them to travel
with us.
92. Positive thoughts create positive things.
The law of attraction is a very real thing. What we concentrate on, amplifies.
What we give attention to, we feed. The negative as well as the positive, so
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
keep an attitude of gratitude and be mindful of looking for the great things in
your life.
93. Smiles are contagious.
If you see someone without one, give them yours. You can always get another
one. You don’t own all the problems in the world.
94. Kindness is free.
Be kind, when you can. People need you.
95. What goes around, comes around
The Law of Attraction applies. What you put out there you get back. Period.
96. If someone offers you a gift, take it.
The law of goes around, comes around means if you say no, you are denying
them a gift in the future.
97. You only fail if you quit.
See #75. 😊
98. What others think of you is none of your business.
Look after your own attitude. Keep yourself right. Focus
99. Time heals almost everything, give it time.
100. Don’t compare your life to others and don’t judge them.
It could be your only reason to be on this planet is to serve as a warning to
others.
101. You have no idea what other people’s journey is about.
It’s true, we don’t know what they’ve been through. We don’t know where
they are at on a spiritual, metaphysical level, or heck, even mentally
sometimes. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Keep yourself right and
let them take care of themselves.
102. They will come to you when you least expect it.
You never know who you are helping. You never know who sees your stuff.
You never know who you reach. I went to Bali once, I was talking to some

French!!!”. You don’t know who is listening or when they will come to you.

103. It’s okay to not be okay.
Everyone needs to understand this. Life is a series of cycles. Up’s and Downs.
Even the perfect life has lows. Even the lowest life has highs. Some days you
just get down. Sometimes circumstances feel like they’re against you.
Do what you need to do. Do your daily elementals. Look after yourself. Treat
yourself and do what it takes to get back to the good place. Sometimes you
just have to breathe in and out and make it through to the next moment.
104. Hurt people hurt people.
No one lashes out for no reason. I believe its always for a reason. That person
has literally reached the end of their tether. Remember, the problem is not
always the problem. They might not necessarily be that angry at you but the
culmination of everything they are going through is the level of anger that they
put out. So, pressing the nuclear codes to the atomic football because you
didn’t put your socks in the wash, just may be the level of pain they are going
through.
105. Stop complaining. Within or without.
This one’s a toughy! When someone asks how your day is…it’s bad…and you
tell them. Hey, they asked. But, is that complaining. I’ve struggled a lot with
this. Someone asked me this once, I said what had happened that day and got
told that I am the most negative person that they had ever met. I couldn’t
understand what they were saying. I literally was speechless. Wait? What?
How is this my fault? You asked how my day was? Literally, the car tyre was flat
causing me to be an hour late for work, they yelled at me. Two clients pulled
out of our program leaving us $200 short on rent for tomorrow. Our son didn’t
come home last night and we didn’t find out where he was until 3, so we didn’t
get much sleep. Then the dog got out so we lost 2 hours searching for him.
Finally found out he was at the pound, so picked him up and found out they
slogged us over $500 in fines. And here you are telling me I’m the most
negative person you’ve ever met. It just wasn’t a nice day is all.
Some days are like that. We’ve all had them. It’s how you respond to them that
counts. Do you keep your cool? Do you stay in control? Or do you rage out just
a bit? Or a lot? How is your speech? Do you concentrate on the positive things?
We all wig out every now and then. That’s okay. But we need to make sure
that as soon as we realise, we need to re-centre ourselves, come back and
count our blessings. Be grateful for the great things in our lives. The people.
The relationships. The beautiful things around us.
106. No one is in charge of your happiness, except you.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
It’s the truth. Only you can truly make yourself unhappy. Only you can make
yourself happy. Sometimes you get caught up in situations or relationships
where your happiness becomes entwined with that of others. But ultimately,
you have the power. Where your focus goes, energy flows and results show.
107. Act with confidence
Everything you do. Act confident. Just do it. Cross the road? Check it’s safe and
just cross. Don’t dawdle, don’t be hesitant, you may miss your opportunity.
Just do it. Cross! Same with everything, once you make that decision, move
with purpose.
108. Create and pursue S.M.A.R.T. Goals.
Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Relevant. Time-based.
Specific, “I want to lose weight” is not specific. “I want to lose 5kg by May” is
specific. 5kg is measurable. It is definitely attainable given a 4/5 week time
frame. It would be relevant to the person wishing to attain that goal. It has a
time element so you can count down, keep pressure on, etc.
109. Take decisive and immediate action.
When you make your decision, move on it. Today all too quickly becomes
tomorrow. Tomorrow becomes next week. Weeks become months.
Don’t let it be that thing you SAID you would do.
110. Focus on being productive, not being busy.
Strangely enough, I just had a conversation regarding this. At one workplace,
one of the managers FAMOUSLY pulls 18 hour days. Everyone talks about how
committed he is. How hard he works. One person summed it up perfectly. He’s
not committed, he’s dangerous. There’s a big difference between busy and
effective. You need rest, you need sleep. You need a break. Concentrate on
short powerful bursts to get a lot of work done. Then take a break.
110. Make logical, informed decisions.
Never make decisions based on emotions. Always think things through. If you
REALLY want something, wait. If you still want it, it will be there next time.
Remember this! Every decision that has to be made on the spot immediately.
Always take the choice that will leave you free.
111. Avoid the trap of trying to make things perfect.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
Perfect is not always best. Often it’s too much time and not worth it.
Sometimes ‘good enough’ is good enough. Perfection can become time
wasting. Get it done. Get it out there. Improve as you go.
112. Work outside of your comfort zone.
Sometimes when we do same old same old we can go a bit stale. Push yourself
to try something new. Learn new things. Have new experiences. Always try to
grow.
113. Keep things simple.
Simple is better than complicated. Less moving parts. Less to go wrong.
Keep it simple stupid. K.I.S.S.
114. Focus on making small, continuous improvements.
Small, continual improvement is better than no improvement at all. Just
change. No matter how small. Just don’t stay in one place.
115. Measure and track your progress.
Not measuring is just guessing. How do you know if the counter has moved if
you don’t have a counter?
116. Maintain a positive outlook as you learn from mistakes.
It’s all information. It’s all data. It all teaches you to be better next time. Yes
you made a mistake. Did you learn from it? Have you changed? That’s all that
matters. Anything else is just guilt. Deal with it and let it go.
117. Spend time with the right people.
You are the sum total of the 5 people you hang out with. So, who are you?
Do you want to be a millionaire…find one. Ask questions. Rich? Talk to
investors, business people.
118. Maintain balance in your life.
Do the test. Where would you rate yourself in each area?

Physical Environment /10
Now, what goal could you give yourself in each area to help bring it back into
balance?
119. Everything is energy.
From your interactions with your family, to your dog to physical things, it is all
energy. Good energy breeds good energy. Bad energy breeds bad energy.
Remember seeing someone hype up a dog and then the dog gets in trouble for
being too energetic? That principle applies. You increase energy, energy
increases.
120. If you can right a wrong, it is your moral duty to do so
If you see someone drop money, give it back to them. Too much change given,
“excuse me, you’ve given too much.” See evidence of wrongdoing, ring the
police. All it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing.
121. Honour is man’s gift to himself
The only true measure of a man is his deeds. Words are nice. But it’s our
actions that people will judge us by. Do what is right. Do your best. For you. For
others. If you find yourself in this situation, for the world.
There’s a quote in the movie ‘Kingdom of Heaven’, “What man is a man who
does not make the world better”.
122. Look for the best in life – Abraham Lincoln (As well as the bible) said
”If you look for the evil in mankind, you will surely find it.”
This is a fundamental rule. Remember, where attention goes, energy flows and
results show. What you focus on grows. What you give your attention to you
will see everywhere. Like when you are buying your new car, all of a sudden
you see that make and model everywhere. The same rule applies. If you look
for something, you will find it. So, you may as well look for good things.
123. Go within to develop inner peace
True change only comes from deep inside, if we only have the courage to find
it. Meditate. Ask questions. Listen to your soul.
124. Renew yourself, rest, meditate, recharge
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]

It’s important to take time to relax. Take time for you. Even if that is just that
15 minute slot to meditate. A half hour to read that book. An hour for a
massage. Be a little selfish. Take that time for you. It’s better for everyone else
in the long run.
“Flow with the universe and use it's energy in your favour”
Marcus Aurelius
125. Stay in the now. Act in the present - Marcus Aurelius
Don’t focus on the past, that leads to depression. Don’t focus on the future,
that leads to anxiety. Focus on the now. Breathe. What can you do right now?
126. Our greatest power is our choice and ability to control our thought -
Choose not to be harmed and operate beyond the basic senses
Children run on emotion. Adults run on ego. Only those that are awake can
operate from higher self. Running from our basic senses is animalistic and
leads to snap decisions based on emotion. Stop. Gain control of your mind.
Breathe. Check ego, leave it at the door. Now, what is really happening?

127. Care of Inner Condition
- Book 2 Sec. 13 Be aware of the power within you and nurture it. This can
include exercise, diet, rest, empowerment, and learning
128. Do the right thing - strive for excellence
Perfection is ever unattainable, excellence however, is doing the absolute best
you can possibly do. If you do your best all the time. And you know when you
haven’t. You can never go wrong. You didi your best.
129. Focus and action
- be contemplative in action
130. Happiness, like memories are create
131. Balance the Relationship Triangle
Maintain balance with body, spirit, soul, external forces, and universal forces.
Our body is made up of the senses - sight, sound, touch, smell, taste. The soul
is made of the mind, will and emotions. The spirit is the force that binds the
two together.
132. Expect the best, plan for the worst.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]

The imagination can lean toward negativity, but a constructive imagination in
the now is very powerful.
133. Practice forgiveness
- blame and resentment is a waste of vigour and time.
134. Be grateful, every day.
Look at what you have and how much you would miss them if they weren't
here. Every morning write three things you are grateful for. One close to you.
One near to you. One around you.
According to UCLA's Mindfulness Awareness Research Center, regularly
expressing gratitude (the quality of being thankful and readiness to show
appreciation) literally changes the molecular structure of the brain, keeps the
gray matter functioning, and makes us healthier and happier
In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently
associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive
emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity,
and build strong relationships
135. Never judge a book by it's cover.
Just like you don’t know someone’s story, their past, who they are. They don’t
know you. Like companies, they don’t know what you’ve done, they know you
for the position you have. Keep an open mind. Give the benefit of the doubt.
136. Embrace Change.
Change is inevitable, embrace it.
137. Continuous improvement
Always learn something new
138. Continual scholarship
Never stop learning. The most dangerous words you can ever say is …
“I already know that!”
Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep evolving.
139. Challenge ego everyday
This gets easier the more you practice it. Put ego on a shelf for when you truly
need it. Practise operating from higher self.
140. The problem is not the problem. 1.
ANDREW FRENCH [Link]
2
Remember, the problem is never the problem. The problem is almost always a
symptom of something you haven’t seen. Examine every area.
141. The problem is not the problem. 2.
“The problem is not the problem, the problem is how you feel about the
problem.”
