Reports To:
Restaurant Manager, and will follow instructions fro the Deputy / Assistant Manager

Purpose:
Ensure the provision of excellent and profitable customer service, which will lead to
customer satisfaction and maximum repeat business. All carried out within the laid down
standards, procedures and legal requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

As per job Description: Front of House with the additional


responsibilities as follows:

‰ Supervise all front of house staff ensuring prompt friendly customer service.
‰ Lead by example.
‰ Maintain a positive and challenging work environment by building a strong team
environment.
‰ Look for the positives in staff performances and recognise in actions.
‰ Ensure that customer relations are maintained and that the highest level of
hospitality exists at all times.
‰ Plan shifts to ensure customer service is at its peak.
‰ Effectively allocate duties to front of house staff and direct activities during the shift.
‰ Actively communicate with customers to monitor service and product quality
‰ Monitor delivery times of products and take action if appropriate.
‰ Continuously monitor the restaurant environment and make necessary adjustments.
‰ Recognise and deal effectively with special customers and their needs.
‰ Handle customer complaints effectively.
‰ Assist with all new front of house staff training.
‰ Assist with the training / retraining of staff to maintain required customer service, as
laid down in the standards of operations.
‰ Assists in conducting and preparation of staff appraisals.
‰ Follow up and provide feedback to front of house staff on their performances and
carry out corrective training when required.

‰ Ensure all products prepared by front of house staff are prepared according to
specifications.
‰ Ensure clear communication channels exist between management and staff.
‰ Ensure the security of all stock under direct control.
‰ Control stock levels and identify specific stock requirements.
‰ Control the activities of other staff members working in the front of house
‰ Adhere to the rules on uniform and appearance and ensure all front of house staff
also meet the required uniform standard.
‰ Responsible in conjunction with the Restaurant management, for ensuring the
correct beverage / dessert cost percentages are achieved, according to agreed
budgets and targets without impairing the quality while meeting the laid down
specifications and procedures.
‰ Prepare the front of house rota in conjunction with the Restaurant Manaement to
agreed budgets.
‰ Prepare and ensure adherence to a cleaning rota in conjunction with the Restaurant
management.
‰ Cash floor staff out as they finish their shift.
‰ Ensure adherence to company cash off, banking, security procedures and policies.
‰ Ensure all restaurant rules and regulations are adhered to at all times.
