LAC Session on PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT ACTIVITIES
Date: August 25, 2022
REFLECTION NOTES
Different social and environmental calamities brought serious effects to the society
especially on health and even in education these past few years. Since COVID-19 pandemic
started, the community was forced to lockdown and undergone quarantine for a long time.
Environmental disaster like Typhoon Odette also caused major destructions to our community
such as damages to school buildings, equipment and materials which became a problem in
pursuing education to learners. Because of these disaster and emergency, teaching and
learning were disrupted due to suspension of classes and eventually, school closure.
These severe damages and losses, and sudden changes in the way of life of learners
and education sector personnel bring crises that consequently affect their mental health and
well-being as they experience distress, dysfunction, or even grief. With the complex impacts of
disasters and/or emergencies, teachers and school personnel must meet the learners where
they are as they work towards learning continuity while prioritizing learners’ recovery towards
enhanced well-being. PSS (Psychosocial Support) was one of the identified ways to help these
learners overcome the changes and traumas they experienced during these difficult times.
To show support to this advocacy of the department, the school conducted a LAC
session emphasizing on how to delivery or conduct various activities designed to assist
learners’ recovery and learning and to support the development of learners’ resiliency towards
safer, better protected and stronger future.
During our LAC, we gained understanding on the basis and rationale of the
implementation of the PSS activities, and the use of the teacher’s guide on the conduct and
facilitation of the PSS activities by the teachers.
As a teacher and also one of the victims of the aforementioned occurrences, I found
hope and support through the conduct of the PSS activities, hope that everyone will have a fast
recovery on the things that disabled them to continue life and support that will develop resiliency
among individuals especially those greatly affected learners.
’Students learn in a child-friendly, gender sensitive, safe and motivating environment…”
in the Mission statement of DepEd was greatly supported in this LAC session because it is one
of our responsibilities as learning facilitators to provide and ensure a safe and sound
environment for learners’ growth and development – a learning environment that supports and
encourages every learner to achieve their goals despite of many obstacles they may encounter.

LAC Session on SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN CRAFTING
Date: January 4-5, 2023
REFLECTION NOTES
"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct
individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common
people to attain uncommon results." – Andrew Carnegie
This two-day LAC session utilized the decision-making skills and unity of all school
personnel especially the Technical Working Group because it was about planning for the
school’s development and improvement for the next six years. The SIP covers the programs,
projects and activities to be implemented to provide quality service to learners and other
stakeholders as stipulated in the department’s vision, “…As a learner-centered public
institution, the Department of Education continuously improves itself to better serve its
stakeholders.”
Legal basis and rationale of SIP, updates and guidelines in SIP Crafting, crafting of
strategic objectives, conduct of SWOT and Cross SWOT analysis, and group discussions were
among the highlights during the LAC session.
While having our group discussions on the pillar assigned to us (Pillar1 – Access), I’ve
realized that in assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the school as well as identifying the
possible opportunities and threats that may exist in each aspect is not easy. It requires thorough
evaluation of the school’s performance in both teaching and learning areas. Though there were
so many inputs recognized, we have to pick the most pertinent and has a major impact to the
school’s performance on ACCESS.
Moreover, earnest collaboration among the group paved way to the accomplishment of
the task given. This only shows that everything is possible if everybody is actively participating
in such activities and the like.

LAC Session on MULTI-YEAR RPMS-PPST GUIDELINES
(RPMS-PPST 2022-2023)
Date: April 5, 2023
REFLECTION NOTES
Every end of academic year, teachers were expected to submit their RPMS-IPCRF
portfolio. The main purpose of this is to assess and evaluate teachers’ individual records and
performance for their annual [Link] year, DepEd released new set of guidelines
for Multi-year RPMS-PPST and our School Head decided to have a roll-out on these guidelines
through a LAC session. Upon scanning on the materials provided to us, we’ve noted some
changes especially on the objectives and new PPST indicators were added.
For the current school year, the focus is more on how the teacher ensured the delivery
of quality and effective lessons to learners applying his/her personal philosophy on learner-
centered teaching, confirming accurate data of learners’ performance records, and displaying
personal and professional development and ethics through series of LAC sessions, focus group
discussions and other collegial discussions. All of these are evident on the new IPCRF
Template.
This LAC session also clarified my queries about the new set of guidelines such as the
background and rationale of the RPMS, activities to be done on each implementation phase
which includes the roles and responsibilities of the ratee and the rater, conduct of classroom
observations, portfolio making and evaluation.
In addition, I was able to assess myself through accomplishing the SAT (Self-
Assessment Tool) where my strengths and development need were identified. I was also able
determine my performance’s pre-rating score using the MRF based on what I already
accomplished on the first-half of the academic year and I can say that I still have many things to
comply with the requirements expected from me.
To achieve my goals and to meet the set standards, an action plan was made using the
IPCRF-DP template. Considering all the strengths and developmental needs identified from my
self-assessment and evaluation on both functional and core-behavioral competencies, learning
objectives and developmental interventions were conceptualized together with the timeline and
resources needed. I am rooting for this action plan’s implementation a success because I know
that this will be of great help not only for my growth and development as a professional but also
for the learners, the school and stakeholders who gave their trust to me as one of the facilitators
of effective and quality teaching and learning.

LAC Session on CLASSROOM STRUCTURING and MANAGEMENT
Date: May 5, 2023
REFLECTION NOTES
As a teacher and teaching-learning manager/facilitator, it is expected in us to prepare
not only the learning activities but also the learning environment. Ever since we were on our
pre-service time, we were taught to always ensure and provide a safe and secured learning
environment to our students, this includes the classroom set-up/structure.
Making our classrooms conducive to learning, learners are more likely to thrive and
experience personal and academic growth. It also offers a unique and beneficial learning
environment for learners especially those with learning difficulties. In line with this, a LAC
session on Classroom Structuring and Management was conducted.
During the session, understanding the basic concept of standard Classroom
Structuring/Educational Facilities, knowing the different standard facilities used in classroom
structuring anchored on Educational Facilities Manual 2010 (Revised Edition of the 2007
Handbook on Educational Facilities – Integrating Disaster Risk Reduction in School
Construction), and making a model classroom using the given standard facilities were some of
our learning gains.
Through these, I was able to evaluate my current classroom structure and identified
what’s present and what’s missing on the set-up. I was also able to assess its impact to my
students on their learning process. Hence, I’ve conceptualized my ideal classroom applying all
that I’ve learned from the LAC session – that is inviting, safe, inclusive and supportive, and
provides endless opportunities for teaching-learning development to happen.
