INDEX
INTRODUCTION
Fear is one of the most basic human emotions. It is programmed
into the nervous system and works like an instinct. Fear helps
protect [Link] makes us alert to danger and prepares us to deal with
it. Feeling afraid is very natural — and helpful — in some
situations. Fear can be like a warning, a signal that cautions us to
be [Link] fear is triggered by something that is
startling or unexpected (like a loud noise), even if it's not actually
dangerous. That's because the fear reaction is activated instantly
a few seconds faster than the thinking part of the brain can
process or evaluate what's happening.
Fear is the word we use to describe our emotional reaction to
something that seems dangerous. But the word "fear" is used in
another way, too: to name something a person often feels afraid
of.
A fear can be healthy if it cautions a person to stay safe around
something that could be dangerous. But sometimes a fear is
unnecessary and causes more caution than the situation calls for.
Extreme level of fear is called phobia. Some phobias develop
when someone has a scary experience with a particular thing or
situation.
CAUSES OF FEAR
Fear is incredibly complex and there is no single, primary cause.4
Some fears may result from experiences or trauma, while others may
represent a fear of something else entirely, such as a loss of control.
Still, other fears may occur because they cause physical symptoms,
such as being afraid of heights because they make you feel dizzy and
sick to your stomach.
Some common fear triggers include:
● Certain specific objects or situations (spiders, snakes, heights,
flying, etc)
● Future events
● Imagined events
● Real environmental dangers
● The unknown
CONSEQUENCE OF FEAR
Fear can interrupt processes in our brains that allow us to
regulate emotions, read non-verbal cues and other
information presented to us, reflect before acting, and act
ethically. This impacts our thinking and decision-making
in negative ways, leaving us susceptible to intense
emotions and impulsive reactions.
Fear of failure can lead to a broad range of emotional and
psychological problems, including shame, depression,
anxiety, panic attacks or low self-esteem. It may
negatively affect how you perform at school or work, or
how you interact with friends and family members.
Fear of success can hold a person back from achieving
their potential and the accompanying sense of fulfillment
in doing so. It can make a person feel stuck and wonder
why they feel that way when others around them appear to
be flourishing. They may consider what has held them
back.
HOW FEAR CONTROLS US
Fear doesn't control us by dominating our emotions.
It controls us by quietly convincing us that our
comfort is more important than happiness. The only
real risk is taking no risks.
Fear is powerful enough to keep us from achieving
our goals and living our best lives. It feeds
stagnation and keeps us from taking advantage of
opportunities. Many people are living in the
self-made prisons of their own fears.
Fear invokes the flight or fight syndrome, and our
first reaction is to flee back to our comfort zone.
And, if we don't know the way back, we are likely to
follow whoever shows us a path. The nature of fear
makes us manipulable.
In response to fear, your brain releases biological
molecules that: Increase your heart rate and blood
pressure. Accelerate your breathing. Hyperfocus
your attention.
CONQUERING FEARS
Identify Your Fears
Identifying one's fears is a crucial first step toward
overcoming them. You can develop a strategy to
overcome your fears and move forward by
recognizing your barriers.
Challenge Your Fears
Fear can be overcome if you face it head-on. By
confronting your fears, you can gain a deeper
understanding of what is holding you back and gain
control over your thoughts and emotions.
Practice Self-Care Or Mindfulness

healthy diet, exercising regularly, and getting
quality sleep. You can also practice mindfulness
practices like meditation, deep breathing, and
affirmations to control your emotions and lower
stress levels.

motivated and on track.
Surround Yourself With Positive People
Positive people can offer support, encouragement,
and a new perspective when you need it most.
Embrace the change
Change can be challenging and frightening but can
bring new opportunities and growth
Visualize Success
Visualization may boost self-assurance, sustain
motivation, and help you conquer challenges.
Take Action
Taking action is the final and most crucial step to
overcoming your fears and living your best life.
CONCLUSION
Fear is probably the greatest enemy when it comes
to taking action. In many cases it prevents us from
making major changes in our life (as change our
career, start or finish a relationship, etc.), other
times it doesn’t let us be ourselves, be honest or deal
with someone. Day to day, it prevents us from
perform some actions, or simply makes us put them
off indefinitely.
If you don’t control fear then it will take control of
your life. The quality of your life will be greatly
affected and your ultimate goals won’t be achieved.
Fear is an insidious virus. Given a breeding place in
our minds, it will permeate the whole body of our
work; it will eat away our spirit and block the
forward path of our endeavors. Fear is the greatest
enemy of progress. Progress moves ever on, and
does not linger to consider microscopically the
implications of each particular action.
Only small and over-cautious minds see the shadows
of lurking enemies and dangers everywhere, and
shrink away from the increased efforts needed to
overcome them. Fear is met and destroyed with
courage. Again and again, when the struggle seems
hopeless and all opportunity lost-some man or
woman with a little more courage, a little more
effort, brings victory.
