MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY (ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS AND BUSINESS
ANALYTICS)

Introduction:
My name is Nithin Subramanya Bhukinkere Nagabhushan. I was born on August 23rd, 1997
in Tumkur and brought up in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, a state in the southern
India. We are a close-knit family of four. My dad, Mr. B. S. Nagabhushan owns a business
wherein he deals with retail sales of Electricals, Commercial Gas, Paints etc and my mom,
Mrs. Radha is a homemaker. My sister, Namitha is in the final year of Bachelor in Business
Administration from GIBS Business School, Bangalore. My father is a sole earner and earns
about 4.5lakh rupees per annum. We live in our family home in Bangalore.

Academics:
I have done my schooling from AECS Magnolia Maaruti Public School, Bangalore securing
an 8.8 CGPA in 10th Standard. I did my pre-university education at Vijaya PU College,
Bangalore with 83% in the 12th Standard. I have completed my Bachelors of Engineering in
Electronics and Communication(ECE) stream from AMC Engineering College, Bangalore in
2019 with a 7.1 CGPA. I was involved in the establishing a Raspberry Pi lab along with my
peers where in the students could learn and perform programming operations. The same was
demonstrated in multiple intercollege events.
I was a part of the team that did experiments on “performance analysis of Quality of Service
parameters using software defined radio and gnu radio” which was presented at the
international conference on information and computing systems 2019.
I took the IELTS exam in early 2022 and successfully scored an overall 8.0 Band (Listening -
8.5, Reading – 8.0, Writing – 7.0, Speaking – 8.0).

Work Experience:
I have 3 years and 3 months of work experience as a Systems Engineer from July 22nd, 2019
to October 21st,2022 at the world renowned Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Bangalore. I
started my tenure with the company right after the completion of my Bachelor’s degree. I
have completed 3 years in the company working with multiple clients and taking up different
roles. I have worked with SAP SE as a major incident manager where I gained knowledge on
cloud based services and customer service. As an Incident manager, I actively worked with
multiple technical and business teams to get a quick response and resolve the incident. This
job taught me to work well in a team and in high pressure situations, and get the best
outcomes for the customer. I then worked as a QA analyst for the client Sunbelt Rentals Ltd
who are a leading company in the USA and Canada in the equipment rental business. In this
role, I gained insights on the company’s business model, the ecommerce domain and the
intricacies involved in the logistics of the equipment which are vital for the construction in
the real estate industry. I worked with the AS 400 system(Rentalman) which is the heart of
the company and stores all the whereabouts of the rented equipment.
After working for 3 years, I have decided to pursue a masters course to upskill myself and get
greater understanding of the Enterprise systems and supply chain domain.

Why not study in India?

Being a resident of India and having travelled quite a few places, I wanted to do my masters
abroad so as to explore other cultures and gain more exposure to different economic
conditions.
The prestigious institutions in India such as the IITs and IIMs do provide similar programs.
Some of the universities I shortlisted were SPJIMR(Mumbai), SIBM(Pune), NITIE(Mumbai),
TAPMI(Manipal). But, the competition is immense and the courses are more inclined
towards academics.
Whereas the courses in Australia provide work integrated learning which gives me an edge
over the competition. Master of Technology (Enterprise Systems and Business Analytics)
from Federation University has integration of courses with SAP and other enterprise systems
are not easily accessible to individuals and would give a great boost to my profile. Taking up
this course in Australia will pose me with challenges different to those I would face in India
and help me gain more global perspective.
The course being accredited by the Australian Computer Society(ACS) makes it globally
recognizable combined with the skills and perspectives I bring back from Australia, will give
me a competitive advantage in my future job hunt in India.

Why Study in Australia?

I have a preference for English speaking countries and hence I shortlisted UK, Canada,
Australia and New Zealand. As someone living in tropical south Indian climate, I did not feel
the extreme weathers of UK and Canada would suit me. I also want to do a comprehensive
masters program for 2 years. Most of the prestigious institutions in the UK and Canada are
offering 1 year courses mainly aimed at the corporate members looking to upskill in a shorter
period of time. Some of the universities I had shortlisted were University of Sussex,
University of Southampton, Aston University from the UK and Humber International
Graduate School, Seneca College from Canada. New Zealand was ruled out due to the lack of
options in the course I was looking for.
Australia is known for its multicultural outlook and international student friendly policies. I
am a huge fan of sports such as Cricket, Soccer, Formula 1 etc and I admire the way sports is
embraced in Australia. The picturesque landscapes, the beaches and a host of tourist
attractions are something that I’m looking forward to explore as a student. Australia is
perfectly placed to give me the best quality education with practical experience while also
tending to my personal goals of travelling and enjoying sports at the great arenas such as
MCG, Albert Park, Adelaide Oval, Marvel Stadium etc.

Why Federation University?

The courses I had shortlisted in Australia were Master of Business Information Systems from
Monash University, Master of Business Analytics from Latrobe University, Master of
Business Information Technology from RMIT University and Master of Technology
(Enterprise Systems and Business Analytics) from Federation University.
The course I’m looking for is a unique blend of Technology and Business studies which
Integrates my business and technical understandings to the requirements of the industry. The
Master of Technology (Enterprise Systems and Business Analytics) from Federation
University does exactly that. As someone who aspires to work with SAP enterprise systems, I
Chose this course to get the practical experience during my course and be prepared for the
Industry.
Having lived in a metro city for the last 25 years, I would like to be away from the hustle
Bustle of a Metro and yet at a touching distance. The course is offered in Mt. Helen campus
Which would give me the experience of the suburban Australia and yet it is just 10kms away
from Ballarat which is the third largest city in Victoria and only about 110kms away from
Melbourne which is a multicultural hub and one of the most livable cities in the world.
Federation university has a great reputation in India with one of the notable Alumni’s from
India, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw who is the founder of Biocon Limited which is a
pharmaceutical giant. She is a true inspiration for many individuals of our generation.
Federation university is one of the oldest universities in Australia and is ranked highest for
Graduate employability. Fed Uni have also announced that they will be the first University in
The country for cooperative education which will allow me to get the much required industry
Expertise and gives me an edge among my peers.

Course Details:
In my Bachelor’s degree, I acquired the technical knowledge in the field of Electronics and
IT. I was able to use the concepts learned in the degree and apply the same in my tenure at
TCS. I was fortunate to work with some Enterprise systems in the job. I realized that the
Enterprise systems are the heart of all companies and supply chains are the backbone of all
the economies. The data acquired from different sources and stored in the enterprise systems
are waiting to be interpreted in a way that the business can gain insights from them and make
right decisions accordingly. With the above points in mind, I started looking at different
options and the Master of Technology (Enterprise Systems and Business Analytics) checked
all the boxes. This program is a perfect combination of Enterprise Systems, Supply chains
and business analytics and hence I decided to pursue it. I would like you use the practical
experience I have gained and take a deeper dive into understanding the Ecommerce and
supply chain industry. This program gives me the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of
relevant topics and technology related to Enterprise Systems (like ERP, SCM, and CRM).
The course consists of 12 units of 15 credits each and a masters’ project of 60 credit points.
The units are Understanding the Digital Revolution, Networking and Security, Big Data and
Analytics, Foundations of Programming, Enterprise Systems, Business Process Analytics and
Change, Professional Research and Communication, Business Intelligence & Data
Warehousing, IT Service Management and Professional Culture, Leadership in IT Project
Management, Real Time Analytics and Supply Chain Operations and Management.
The program gives hands on experience as some of the courses are embedded with SAP
software which will get me job ready for post studies employment. The program is also
accredited by the Australian Computer Society which assures that the course is of high
standards and ensures that I would be ready to meet the industry requirements.

Future Plans:
Master of Technology (Enterprise Systems and Business Analytics) from Federation
University provides a deep understanding of the different enterprise systems and how they
integrate all the functions in a company. In addition to this, I will be able to learn how the
data stored in the systems can be processed and leveraged to make better business decisions
for my future employer.
Studies and practical experience in Australia will enable me to provide a broader perspective
to the problems faced in the supply chains of the country and figure out solutions. My parents
and friends are main motivations for me to return back to India.
I am the only son and am responsible for the taking care of the wellbeing of my parents as
they inch towards the retirement age. My family and I live in our family home which has
hosted us for close to 40 years now and I would like to come back to stay here after my
adventures in Australia. I intend to continue growing my community in India while also
adding to it the networks I make in Australia.
I plan on returning to India and look for a job as a SAP consultant or Systems Administrator
in one of the MNCs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft etc. This course would also open up
doors in the Big 4 accounting firms (Deloitte, KPMG, PWC, E&Y) for roles such as ERP
data analyst or business consultant. ERPs being the heart of every company, the opportunities
are endless. With my 3 years of experience in the industry and the practical experience that I
gain from the course, I expect to earn between 8 – 12 lakh rupees per annum(14,952 - 21765
AUD per annum) in remuneration post my studies in Australia.

Finances –
My Grandparents, Mr. Sadashivaiah and Mrs. Vijayalakshmi have graciously offered to
sponsor my education in Australia. They are retired Government employees who served the
Government of Karnataka as a Senior Lab Technician and High School Teacher respectively.
They reside in Hebbur, Karnataka where they own a house and are earning a pension of
4.5lakh rupees each per annum.
My father, Mr B S Nagabhushan is a businessman who is running his business “Bhushan
Enterprises” from the past 30 years and has been earning 4.5 lakh rupees per annum. He will
also be sponsoring my education in Australia with his ongoing income. He currently holds a
sum of 56,000 rupees(1,016 AUD) in his Karnataka bank account 9992505011935201.
My grandfather, Mr. Sadashivaiah has transferred a total of 30lakh rupees(56,853 AUD) from
his State bank of India account - 64070097967 and India Overseas Bank account –
031701000011070 to my State Bank of India account - 20362328713.
My grandmother, Mrs Vijayalakshmi V has transferred 15lakh rupees(28,430 AUD) from her
State bank of India account - 64070097934 to my State Bank of India account - 20362328713
to cover the educational and living expenses in Australia.
A payment of 5.75 lakh rupees (10,760 AUD) has been made to the university and the
remaining funds of 45 lakh rupees (82,700 AUD) is available in my State bank of India
account – 20362328713.

Living in Australia:
I have received a scholarship for the university accommodation and I am planning to avail the
same for the first year. As I haven’t experienced the hostel life, I’m excited to be going to the
university and interacting with new people and to lead the student life again. Staying in the
university accommodation will give me easier access to the university library and the labs.
I’m also looking forward to availing the amenities such as Health and Fitness center and the
Pool which are located in the Mt. Helen Campus.
For the 2nd year, I plan on taking a shared accommodation along with University mates
somewhere around the campus or in the Ballarat city region. I would like to attend events
related to supply chains and grow my networks which would aid my future endeavors. I have
my best friend of 10 years who lives in Melbourne and works as a Business Analyst at
BUPA. He will be a source for moral support for me during my years in Australia.

Visa conditions for subclass 500:

I am completely mindful of the visa conditions and policies published on the Australian
government website([Link] and I assure you to abide by the same
while I am in Australia.

Below is my understanding regarding the Student Visa conditions –

 I must not change the course of study without approval of the minister.
  I must maintain health insurance (OSHC) during the time I am in Australia.
 I must keep the education institution and DHA informed of my current address in
Australia. I must notify them of any change within 7 days.
 I must not get involved in any disruptive or violent activities which threaten the
Australian community.
 I must maintain 80% attendance and make appropriate progress is the course.
 I am allowed to work for 20 hours per week while my course is in session. Any
changes will be communicated by the Department of Home Affairs.

Conclusion:

I have submitted all the information honestly and truthfully. I respectfully request you
examine my application and provide me the chance to make my dream of studying in
