Verify Primary Oxygen source (record volume)

Verify available Back-Up Oxygen

Verify O2 Flowmeters working

Verify Vaporizer full and port tightly closed

Verify CO2 absorbent fresh or newly replaced

Verify Scavenging on and functional

Ensure Y-adapter is correctly attached

Ensure appropriate breathing circuit is correctly connected

Verify correct size rebreathing bag attached to the system

Perform Anesthetic Machine Leak Test(If leak is present,


DO NOT proceed. See troubleshooting guide.)

Verify Monitoring equipment functional

Verify Emergency Medication available and


expiration dates checked
