Introduction
We chose to do our project on The Premier League because we
both really like Football and especially the PL because like many
others we find it the most entertaining league in the world.
The Premier League often referred to as the “EPL” (English
Premier League) is one of the top leagues in the world.
Most games are played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons
Which is late afternoon early night in Israel which is another
reason why so many people here in Israel watch it
The competition was founded as the FA premier league on
February 20th, 1992. Following the decision of clubs in the
football leagues first division to break away from the football
league that was founded in 1888.
We would love to learn more about the history of The Premier
League and its structure.

Information
The seasons run from the months august to may. Each team plays
38 matches a season they play all 20 teams twice one away game
and one home game.
How do they decide which teams are in each league every
season?
Every season the bottom three teams in each league get relegated
to the league below them. The two teams with the highest
amount of points get automatic promotion to the next division,
3rd-6th go into a playoff in which 3rd plays against 6th and 4
squares up against 5th. They play two legs in the semis and the
two winners play each other in the final for the ticket to the
league above. The points are determined by wins, losses and
draws. A win is worth three points a draw is one and a loss is zero.
As of the 2020–21 season, 49 teams have played in the Premier
League. Forty-seven are based in England and two (Cardiff City
and Swansea City) are located in Wales; they play in the English
football league system for practical and historical reasons.
Preston North End are the only former top-flight First Division
champions who have never played in the Premier League and are
among 16 clubs who have played in the old First Division but not
in the Premier League. By contrast, Barnsley, Bournemouth, Hull
City, Reading, Swindon Town, and Wigan Athletic never played in
the old First Division before being promoted to the Premier
League.

Twelve of the 22 founder members of the Premier League are
competing in the 2020–21 season. Six (Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton,
Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur) have
contested every season of the Premier League. The remaining six
(Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Manchester City,
Sheffield United and Southampton) were also founder members,
though each team has been relegated at least once in the past.
One club, Brighton & Hove Albion, is not a founding member of
the Premier League, but has not been relegated since its debut in
the Premier League.

Reflection
Yes we did, we thought it was a very interesting topic with a lot of
rich history and exciting things that we learnt.
Yes, we would love to go and learn in more depth about the
premier league and its fascinating facts and history, How the
premier functions and how the relegation and promotion works.
How it’s decided the amount of money the teams get at the
beginning of every season and how people live of the sport and
make it a part of their day to day lives.
