P550,500 in a bank that pays 5.45% simple interest?
2. Dr. Tanedo would like to earn using his savings in a bank. How long will an amount of
P450,000 gain a simple interest of P100,000 at 6.45% per annum (annual)?
3. Dr. Vidal invested P450,000 at 9.25% compounded annually. She plans to get this amount
after 8 years for her son’s college education. How much will she get?
4. A time deposit account in a bank yields 9.25% compound interest semi-annually. Dr. Oestar
invested P650,000 for 6 years in this savings account. How much interest will she gain?
5. Dr. Chua has P750,000 to invest at 3.25% compounded monthly. Find the maturity value if
he invests for 21 months?
6. Dr. Sena is planning to invest P750,000. Bank A is offering 7.5% compounded semi-annually
while Bank B is offering 7.3% compounded monthly. If she plans to invest this amount for
5 years, in which bank should she invest?
7. How long will it take P2,000,000 to earn P65,000 if the interest is 45% compounded
quarterly?
8. Dr. Villanueva invested P855,000 in a bank with 8.7% interest rate which continuously
compounded. How much would be the total amount money invested after 56 months?
9. Dr. Santiago is planning to invest his shares on food business amounting to P325,000. At
what rate compounded quarterly will accumulate his money to P550,000 for 5.5 years?
10. Suppose Dr. Enriquez would like to save P30,000 every month in a fund that gives 5.7%
compounded monthly. How much is the amount or future value of her savings after 30
months?
