9. REMOVE POWER. Remove the flash card.

10. The New Control Board Kit comes complete with the BRAM (U5) Real Time Clock Lithium Battery in-
stalled. Although you can maintain set points and configuration settings by swapping out the old BRAM in
place of the new, this is not a recommended practice. DO NOT DO! Prior to pulling the old board, copy
down the set points and configuration settings, and program the new board with NEW BRAM.
11. Connect the remaining cables to the I/O board (031-02550).
12. APPLY POWER. Initializing messages shall appear on the display, followed by the standard status message.

Copying down setpoints and configuration settings from the original PCB is crucial during the 031-02550-XXX Control P.C.B. replacement to ensure that the new board is configured correctly, consistent with the system's operational parameters. Neglecting this step can lead to improper setup, causing the equipment to operate outside designated specifications, reducing efficiency or even leading to malfunction. This procedural accuracy is essential for maintaining consistent operations and avoiding potential disruptions .

Using the old BRAM instead of the new one during the 031-02550-XXX Control P.C.B. replacement could carry over corrupted data, errors, or incompatible settings to the new board, potentially causing malfunctions or operational inconsistencies. It is crucial to use the new BRAM provided in the kit to ensure that all configuration settings are fresh and properly aligned with the updated hardware specifications. Ignoring this recommendation could lead to technical issues or longer-term operational inefficiencies .

Ignoring or improperly executing instructions for replacing the 031-02550-XXX Control P.C.B. poses significant risks, including personal injury, equipment failure, and property damage. Improper handling or installation could lead to electrical shocks, incorrect chiller operation, or even fires if the power isn't appropriately managed. Failing to correctly configure the settings could result in operational inefficiency or damage to the system due to misalignment with performance specifications. These risks underline the necessity for skilled personnel and adherence to safety protocols .

Direct consultation with a Johnson Controls Service Office when questions or concerns arise during procedures involving the 031-02550-XXX Control P.C.B. is suggested because they can provide authoritative guidance and ensure that the latest, most accurate information is utilized. Given that the service instructions are subject to revisions, consulting the service office mitigates risks of outdated or incorrect practice that could compromise safety and equipment integrity. This ensures compliance with the latest safety standards and operational protocols .

The BRAM (U5) Real Time Clock Lithium Battery plays a critical role in maintaining set points and configuration settings in the 031-02550-XXX Control P.C.B. during the replacement process. It is not recommended to swap the old BRAM with the new board because this could carry forward any existing issues or corrupt settings to the new board. Proper practice involves using a new BRAM to ensure clean, updated, and reliable configuration settings that align with the board's fresh hardware calibration .

Before beginning replacement work on the 031-02550-XXX Control P.C.B., it is imperative to follow several safety and procedural precautions: recording setpoints and configuration settings from the original PCB, ensuring power is removed from the VSD Chiller, and understanding service literature thoroughly.
