Comparative Adjectives  

Comparative adjectives are used to compare differences between the two 

objects.  

Comparative  shorter smaller faster rougher bigger 

Adjectives   

taller bigger slower softer lighter 

subject + verb + ​comparative adjective + than​ + object 

Eg. ​Dogs run ​faster​ than turtles.   

Rhinos weigh ​heavier​ than rabbits.  

Hamsters are ​softer​ than crocodiles.  

** three or more syllables >> add “more” ** 

Eg. more dangerous 

more beautiful
