I. INTRODUCTION
There is no definite definition of emotional and behavioral disability since emotion and
behavior is hard to measure. Aside from that, behavior may vary across different culture and different
nation, hence, knowing what is acceptable and what is not may depend on the situation and on the
people involve.
Nevertheless, emotional and behavioral disorder is defined by IDEA (Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act) as a condition exhibiting one or more characteristics such as inability to
learn, inability to build or maintain interpersonal relationships, inappropriate type of behavior or
feelings, pervasive mood of unhappiness and tendency to develop physical symptoms of fears over a
long period of time. These characteristics are the general behavior of a person who are dealing with
emotional and behavioral disorder. There are still a lot more attributes that can be observed to a
person who has an emotional and behavioral disorder.
IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) presented specific emotional disturbances
which are classified into different disorder that serves as an umbrella term for emotional and
behavioral disorder. These are Personality Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive and
Related Disorder, Elimination Disorders and Feeding and Eating Disorders. The said disorders has their
own characteristics to administer during a long period of time. Hence, it takes a lot of time to conduct
an assessment in order to confirm the real condition/disorder of a certain person. It is always depend
on how they behave emotionally every time.
The behavior of the person should at least possess characteristics such as excessive amount
of anxiety, a pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly form the expectations
of the individual’s culture, the presence of obsessions and compulsions into something, inappropriate
elimination of urine or feces and persistent eating behaviors that negatively impact their health. These
characteristics can be observed to the person over a long period of time which also needs a proper
way of treatment in order to help the person involved.
In emotional and behavioral disorder, proper accommodations should take place in order to
control the behavior of the person. These accommodations should always make them at peace and it
will make them better each day. A person of emotional and behavioral disorder needs a long patience
in dealing with their own behavior because a deep understanding is all they need. Hence, despite the
indefinite definition of this disorder, it can be noted that this emotionally disturbances has

characteristics to be observed, needs proper treatment to take place and a life is at risk that needs
help from everyone to improve every day.
II. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
A. Personal Information of the Client
Tim is a nine year old boy in Grade 4. He lives with his family and he has noted to have a 15
year old brother. He loves reading books and watching movies. He is also a competent student who is
very attentive in class. Tim’s life sounds perfect, however, there is something that concerns his teacher
and that is Tim’s behavior. He seems to have a hard time dealing with other people. He hates not to
be recognized but always choose to be alone which is not usual at his age.
B. Family Information of the Client
Tim’s family seems to be supportive on Tim’s life. He has mother, father and a brother. His
parents are fully aware on his behavior in which he doesn’t want to be in a crowded place and he
prefer to stay on his room, reading books or watching movies. Moreover, his parents are trying to get
him out during the weekend but it seems like it is not really his style. Nevertheless, Tim’s parent is
open for communication from the school to properly observed Tim’s behavior over a period of time
and to apply the proper assessment suited for his characteristics.
C. Educational Information of the Client
Tim’s life in the school is not usual like the others. He is excelling and really competitive and
attentive in class however, during a group discussion he has having a hard time coping up with the
others. His behavior will suddenly change if his idea is not being recognized. He seems very invisible
during playtime and he chooses to be alone in a corner. In the library, he also prefer reading books
without any children or classmate around him. He will sit in a corner as if he is the only one existing.
In short, he doesn’t care to other children. Good thing for Tim’s educational life is for having a good
and understanding teacher who will give concern for him every time his behavior will come in.
D. Other Relevant Information
The group where Tim belongs is not aware on what is happening to his behavior His classmates
will talk gossip every time Tim will showcase his inappropriate behavior, inside and outside the
classroom. They do not also have the patience to deal with it because at some point, they will laugh.

In addition, they are acting like they do not care to the situation which is not good to Tim’s condition.
His environment should be aware so that they know what to do every time and they will understand
what is happening.
III. OBSERVABLE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LEARNER
In emotional and behavioral disorder, it has a lot of characteristics that needs to be observed
and assessed in order to know the real state or condition of the person involve. Hence, it is necessary
to look into every characteristic to apply the proper treatment that the person involve deserves.
As being said, Tim’s behavior is something that needs a lot of observation. He seems very
competitive but also very lowkey in his self. He is very attentive in class but afraid to show off and will
just answer “I don’t know”. And some more characteristics are being shown to Tim for the past six
weeks which is very alarming because it is not usual at his age. He is supposed to enjoy the companion
of others but he chooses otherwise.
Tim seems having a hard time coping up with others especially group work. In the video, it
shows how small his patience in dealing with others. He is sharing his thoughts but he felt like is not
recognized in the situation hence, he catches the attention of everyone through his loud and angry
voice. Moreover, he is also have that tendency to throw pencils, pencil case or any material that could
suppress what he feels inside but in the other hand, it will bring fear to the people around him.
In the outside, specifically during play time, he do not prefer playing with others but rather he
chooses to just watch from a corner which signifies his behavior of socializing with others. He is having
a problem in socializing. There are a lot of situations wherein he should make some bond with his
family or the people in his environment but he still chooses to be alone and just watched every
scenario.
He is also very particular on his work. He gets upset when he is not satisfied or when he
makes mistakes on his work. This characteristics is also not usual because at his age, it is normal to
make mistakes and they should just enjoy learning without any pressure from within. But in Tim’s
case, he wants everything to be perfect and in good condition.
Lastly, inside the library he is also a loner and has its own world. The librarian always observed
that he is sitting from a corner, reading books without minding other people. Library is supposed to
be a quiet area but in the other side, it is also an area where every learner can learn together and can

share thoughts together. However, in Tim’s behavior, he creates his own world where no one can
learn with him and can share thoughts with him.
Based from the observed characteristics, Tim’s seems to have a combination of three
disturbances under the Personality Disorder.
Avoidant Personality Disorder is one of those which is defined as an enduring pattern of
behavior related to social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy and sensitivity to rejection that causes
problems in work situations and relationship. In line with this, Tim showed a behavior in which he is
having a hard time inhibiting with others in a social aspect. He has also difficulty working with others
and easily got irritated when he felt rejected. He is also hard to cope-up with others which lead him
to have a problem building a relationship with the people in his environment.
Another observed disorder which can be possibly applied to Tim’s condition is Oppositional
Defiant Disorder which is defined as a disorder in which a child displays a pattern of an angry or cranky
mood, defiant or combative behavior and vindictiveness toward people in authority. In the video, his
teacher stated that sometime Tim are getting angry reason for him to throw pencil, or any material
he could see on his surroundings. This material or situation may surely harm other people which made
his teacher got alarmed to the situation.
Last disorder that can be diagnosed to Tim is Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. His
way of thinking in which everything should be perfect is just one of the characteristic of the said
disorder. Tim seems to be a perfectionist on his work because as his teacher said, he feels angry or
irritated when his work do not satisfy him. Hence, I can include this as a possible disorder in which Tim
may belong.
My observations to Tim led me with this opinion which I only think. Hence, this is just my own
observation to Tim’s case and I am not a professional to clear his real condition.
IV. DESCRIPTION OF SUPPORT SHOWN
Supporting a person with a problem in behavior will give a big help for him to undergo the
journey and surpassed everything that will come for him. It will never be easy but because of different
support shown for him, a little hardship will become a little love that will help him push through what
he is being into.

A. Family
Family is the primary supporter of any child. Family is the source of everything because family
is the only and real home of a person, thus, in Tim’s condition, his family support didn’t have any
shortcomings. They supported him in all his likes and wants. They coordinated with the school about
his behavior. They are open for suggestions and advices. And most specially, they didn’t treat Tim’s
condition as a problem but as a condition that they need to overcome all together and I think that is
what a family really all about.
B. School
Based on the video, the school did their part and did their best to recognized and to helped
Tim in his condition. His teacher is a good example. She gave positive and negative feedback towards
Tim to balance the situation. Tim is a really good student and he is excelling and very attentive inside
the class, in the other side, Tim’s behavior is something that is not usual and his teacher observed
that. Upon knowing it, she asked her colleagues if Tim is showing the same behavior. After which, she
consulted his parents which is really a good idea for them to cooperate and collaborate more to show
bigger support to Tim. They consulted professional people regarding Tim’s condition together. Aside
from that, his teacher also has the patience to deal with Tim every time his behavior is coming in.
Therefore, the school give their best to support Tim on his journey.
C. Community
The community where Tim belongs do not aware with his situation. His classmates are not
really fund of knowing what condition is Tim up to. They do not understand his presentation of
different behavior in different situation, however, what’s good in there is that, even though they are
not aware, they didn’t discriminate nor judge Tim in any situation, but rather, they were being
understandable and they mind their own business which is a good point for Tim because despite his
behavior, people around him are not making a mess towards it. Like for example, there are time in the
video in which Tim shouted because his idea are not being heard by his groupmates. His teacher
approached him and asked what is happening. And then, the teacher asked the group what should be
done to address the issue and one of his groupmates answered back telling that they should work
together. This is a situation in which his groupmates can be angry too, however, they did their part as
a groupmate and understand Tim’s behavior.

V. SUGGESTED SUPPORT STRATEGIES/ CURRICULAR ADAPTATIONS/ INTERVENTION PROCEDURES
(IN YOUR CAPACITY AS A SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATOR)
How a teacher will react during this kind of situation will surely help everything to be more
easy, accessible and flexible. A teacher who knows how to understand and be open on the situation
is someone that is need in order to provide the right and proper assessment of the learners. A teacher
who have a long patience to endure every hardship is someone that is essential in the service because
this will lead into a successful journey and a teacher who loves the passion of teaching is someone
who will go through anything just to provide learners the learning experience they deserve. In my
capacity as a future special needs education, I will do every possible ways for my learners, not for me
to achieve but for them to conquer their dreams. Their dreams which became my dreams the moment
they came into my life.
The following is some of the support strategies I could lean on for the family, for the teachers
and for the community.
A. For the Family
Family is the most important weapon in combatting any disorder, hence, communicating with
them is very essential to open up the problem. Moreover, having the cooperation between the school
and the family to support and deal with the situation is also in need in order for the person involved
to be fully aware that what he/she is suffering is something that he/she will overcome. This could also
help the family to ease their fears and anxiety towards the condition of their child.
As a future educator, it is my part to impart knowledge regarding the situation of their child
and to support the group no matter what it takes.
Imparting Knowledge includes providing parents with knowledge of the effective
interventions and strategies implemented daily in special education behavioral classrooms. The
presenters dealing with this aspect of training will not only impart the knowledge, but also closely
work with parents in teaching them how to implement these strategies. Therefore, giving them the
right knowledge on how they will deal with the situation is very important for the success of
implementing strategies to combat the disorder of their child.
Support Group includes providing an atmosphere in which parents can share their stories in
a supportive and nonjudgmental setting. In these support groups the parents will finally be able to

openly express their concerns with other individuals experiencing the same types of situations. The
facilitators of these meetings should stress the importance of building support systems and to always
maintain the perspective that the behaviors of these children can and will improve. The goal of the
support group will be to offer encouragement, support, and hope to these parents by encouraging
them to never give up on their children. Thus, supporting the family all through out and giving them
assurance every time that everything will be okay and that their children will improve is the most
genuine support a teacher could give. And it is also the most important way for the teacher to show
empathy to the family and to the children involve.
Imparting knowledge and supporting the group involve is the least but most important
strategy or intervention for the teacher to take because showing concern through imparting
knowledge and showing empathy through giving support will uplift everyone in the situation. And for
me as a future teacher, it is always my goal to uplift everyone in hard times situation.
B. For the School
The school is the place where a child reside for almost a day. It is where they learn and where
they can interact with other people. However, a child with an emotional and behavioral disorder
couldn’t live a normal life in which they could interact with other people without having any issues,
fears, or anxieties.
As a future teacher, it is hard in my part to see my students having difficulty in dealing different
situation but it is also my pleasure to help them overcome their biggest problem in life. Hence, I will
do my part with the best I can.
Meet with school administrators in which it states that parents and guardians should request
a meeting to discuss the issues, ask for a functional behavior assessment, and request a behavior
intervention plan to determine triggers and strategies to improve the behavior. As I was saying, the
cooperation of every people that surrounds the child will always give the best result in any aspect
whether it is for assessment or intervention plan.
Implement supportive measures. After finishing the assessment and creating a plan, parents
should take time to learn about available support measures. “Ask what services are available. These
could include access to a school counselor, peer groups, and after-school programs.” Of course,
creating a plan will be worthless without implementing it, thus, as a future teacher, it is my job to help

everyone in implementing different supportive measures for my learners to improve and progress
over a period of time.
Seek medical help. In addition to speaking with relevant individuals at your child’s school, take
time to speak with their pediatrician as well. “Pediatricians can test for medical or other reasons for
the issues they are experiencing,” says Ferone. “They may identify that your child has ADHD, OCD,
nutrition issues, allergies, family crises, or past trauma that contributes to their behavioral challenges.
This is one of the most important thing to do because a teacher is not professional enough to assess
the condition of the child, and seeking for medical help where the real professionals in the field will
get involve is something that will surely lead the way into a successful and collaborative plan.
Talk with others. Children interact with teachers, administrators, peers, parents of other
students, and friends throughout the course of their day. These individuals may be able to shed
additional light on how your child behaves when they are not with you. Communication is always the
key to help a person who are dealing a hard times. Communication bring up closer relationship and a
bonding filled positivity that will help the child uplift all their worries and anything that could bring
them down.
Review helpful resources. Integrating different resources in dealing with the situation will
help the learners and the teachers, administrators to apply the most convenient and more effective
plan in helping the child overcome their difficulty in any situation possible.
In the school, all alternative ways to help a children overcome their problems can be applied
as long as it is effective and will bring them positive result. Moreover, in the school, a lot of people
will surely help the child in uplifting their mood every time they are in doubt or they are in their
inappropriate behavior. As a future teacher, I will do my best to help my school in implementing every
important strategies for my learners to have better days to come.
C. For the Community
Helping a child through their rough times will give a positive effect to the community. It will
bring hope not just to the life of the child but also to everyone who are suffering different problems
in different situations. Therefore, in my capacity as a future educator, it is always my job to give hope
to everyone and to let them feel that all their dreams are possible and visible.

The community where the child resides is very important because this will give impact to their
life, whether it is a good or bad one. But, as a teacher, it is my job to ensure that all environment the
child reside will give a good impact on their own progress. This environment will give them experiences
which will help them to be better. The environment they will deal in will open up new opportunities
for them to explore their own self and most especially, it is an environment that will help them see a
bright future ahead.
VI. CONCLUSION
The over-all case study is about a child who has suffering from difficulty in interacting or
socializing with other people. He has an excellent performance in school but his behavior is something
that alarms everyone in his surroundings. Therefore, the teacher did her best to apply everything that
needs to be applied in order for Tim’s behavior to be properly assessed. She talked with her colleagues
and even have a conference with his parents. Though in the video, it is not shown all the interventions
they made for Tim but I know with the way how his teacher react to the situation, Tim is in good hands
and Tim will recover on all difficult things he is into. Hence, I therefore conclude that Tim’s case is
receiving a proper assessment and intervention and at the same time, Tim is in the process of fighting
his inappropriate behavior and that he will become better soon.

I. INTRODUCTION
As they say, communication is the key to create good relationship and to express opinion on
certain things or issues. Communication is very essential into our everyday life because whenever we
talk, we are communicating to other people, we are giving contribution to every people and we are
sharing our support to the people we talking to. But how can we communicate if we have a problem
in our language and communication aspect or the so called language and communication disorder.
Language and communication disorder encompasses different deficits which includes the
deficits in language, speech and communication. Speech is the expressive production of sounds that
includes an individual’s articulation, fluency, voice and resonance quality. Language includes the form,
function and use of conventional system of symbols in a rule-governed manner of communication and
lastly, communication includes any verbal or nonverbal behavior that influences the behavior, ideas
or attitudes of another individual. These three associated words is one of the most important things
that we must have in order to attain progress every day, however, because there are situations we
can’t control, some people are suffering difficulty regarding these three words. And these difficulty
are categorize into 4 categories – Language Disorder, Speech Sound Disorder, Childhood-Onset
Fluency Disorder (Stuttering) and Social Communication Disorder.
Language disorder is a persistent difficulties in the acquisition and use of language across
modalities due to deficits in comprehension or production that include reduced vocabulary, limited
sentence structure and impairments in discourse. In short, language disorder has difficulty in
expressing themselves and understanding what others are saying. Having this kind of disorder will give
an impact to the everyday life of a person. This is because they will be having a hard time expressing
what they want and understanding what others are saying.
Speech Sound Disorder has difficulty with speech sound production that interferes with
speech intelligibility or prevents verbal communication of messages. This disturbances causes
limitations on different aspect such as participation, academic achievement or occupational
performance, individually or any combination. Hence, speech sound disorder is a difficulty that could
limit a person in showing off what they got. It is a problem wherein a person couldn’t use properly
verbal words in delivering messages.
Childhood-Onset Fluency Disorder or stuttering is a disturbances in the normal fluency and
time patterning of speech that are in inappropriate for the individual’s age and language skills over

time. This difficulty includes characteristics such as sound and syllable repetitions, sound
prolongations of consonants as well as vowels, audible or silent blocking, circumlocutions, words
produced with an excess of physical tension and monosyllabic whole-word repetitions which will
result into anxiety about speaking or limitations in effective communication, social participation and
academic or occupational performance. This is likened to speech sound disorder because a person
having this kind of difficulty will have a limitations on certain aspects that will affect their way of
communication with others.
Lastly is the Social Communication Disorder wherein it is noted that a person having this will
have difficulties in the social use of verbal and nonverbal communication that includes deficits in using
communication for social purposes, impairment of the ability to change communication to match the
context, difficulty following rules for conversation and difficulties understanding what is not explicitly
stated. From the word itself, social communication disorder will give a problem to people towards
their socializing aspect whether it is verbal or nonverbal communication.
Indeed, language and communication disorder will give a hard time to people who will
suffering from this; however, hope should not be lost because this disorder has a lot of interventions
to make in order to help the person overcome all the limitations that this disorder brings. And more
importantly, there are people who are willing to help to promote goodness and support among
anyone.
II. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
A. Personal Information of the Client
This case study shows different cases from different people who undergone sufferings and
difficulties which gave them anxieties and frustrations. However, everyone of them seems to
understand the situation and that they are trying to overcome every situation they are into.
Geonands is an example. He is 21 years old who is already in college. His speech problem was
being diagnosed when he is 3 years old. His mom observed him when he is 1 years old in which he is
not sounding like a 1 year old boy, hence, they went into doctor visit and that is when they found out
his situation. He undergone speech therapy, tried and participated on different activities that will help
him master different words and now, he is becoming better and better each day.

Another case is in Sariah’s case. At the early age, she recalls world poorly and produces
sentences that are shorter or less complex than is developmentally appropriate. She couldn’t express
her thoughts properly reason for her to get upset and frustrated everytime. However, despite the
difficulty she is being through, she is willing to learn every day with the help of her teachers to master
every difficulties that she has so that it will be better someday.
In the videos, there are a lot of people involved which encompasses different language and
communication disturbances with a lot of different interventions. Therefore, language and
communication disorder is not something to be afraid of because strategies and alternative ways to
support all the people who is suffering from this is very visible and very accessible to anyone.
B. Family Information of the Client
Family is the first one who will feel afraid for the condition of their children, but also, they are
the first support system of every people who will suffer from any difficulty condition. Hence, family is
someone that will always be there through one’s journey.
In the video, there are no family information stated but I am sure that every cases presented
has a family who gave their full support to the journey of their child. It is a kind of family that will uplift
and will cooperate with the professionals to help their children become better each day. It is a kind of
family that brings hope to their children that everything will be okay and that they will live a normal
life like others. And most especially, it is a kind of family who never give up to the situation or condition
of their child, they are the ones who initiate the fight and will pushed their child to be patient in the
process of implementing interventions that will help them overcome their difficulties.
C. Educational Information of the Client
Geonands educational background started when he is still a kid. He received speech therapy
starting then which made him to be better in his high school life wherein he joined different tracks
such as wrestling, soccer, music and many more to enhance his way of producing language. As time
goes by, he progress and his speech improve. He also observed that having lines which he rehearsed
will make the people that surround him to easily understand his thoughts and ideas. Because of his
patience in dealing with his speech problem, he attained his dreams in life. He entered college with
scholarship. He was able to buy a new car and work happily in a hospital, which only proves that a
disorder will never hindrance a person in conquering his dreams in life.

Other cases presented shows an educational background in which they are receiving
interventions appropriate to their disability. Their teachers are being patient with their condition and
they are doing their best to help their student master what they need to. Therefore, every child who
are suffering from language difficulty has an assurance that they will receive proper treatment and
proper interventions because there are people and there are school who are always willing to help
them at all cost.
D. Other Relevant Information
As one therapist said in the video, the most important thing is for teacher and parents to help
the children. A speech therapist can set up a plan that if they follow through, practice the things that
they ask, it will be much more progress. Therefore, one of the main ingredients is the collaboration of
the teacher and the parents about all the things needed and essentials to the growth and progress of
their child. Indeed, there is nothing more convenient to a person with disorder than to have full
support to the people that surround and care for him.
Another is the when Geonands is asked if he will change his speech and he said “no” because
he wouldn’t be the person he is now if he has no speech disorder and that impacts me as a future
educator. It made me realized that every disorder is not a problem, but it is a challenge worth
surpassing of so that every success will be a lot more meaningful. Every child with disorder has a
difficult life to deal in but a worthy life to conquer.
III. OBSERVABLE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LEARNER
Language and Communication disorder has different categories with a different
characteristics. They have their own presentations of their own disorders that could surely limit one’s
performance, hence, it is important to know what some of this in order to be aware on how to properly
deal with it.
Geonands has speech problem. When he was a kid, everyone in his surrounding are being
mean to him and making fun of him because of the way he talks. However, according to him, the
problem is not the attitude of every people in his environment but what frustrates him the most is
that he thought he is talking perfect, he thought everyone understand him but no, no one couldn’t
understand him because what he thinks in his head will not come out perfectly. Nevertheless, this
condition where Geonands belong didn’t stop him for push troughing what he started. He enter high

school better because of the speech therapy he tried. He participated on different tracks which will
enhance his speech sounding and eventually entered college with scholarship. After his educational
journey, he then buy a new car and got a new job in a hospital. Geonands journey is not usual like
others, but how he dreams is bigger than the others. When he say, for 21 years, his condition is the
biggest obstacle of his life and he is grateful because slowly, he surpassed that obstacle and now he is
trying to live like others.
Sariah’s condition is the other case presented. She has a lot of characteristics to be observed
such as she recalled words poorly and produces sentences that are shorter or less complex than is
developmentally appropriate, she comprehends the material she is trying to express, she cannot
create the appropriate sentences to express her thought, and she has difficulty in expressing her needs
or wants at the same level or with the same complexity as her peers. This characteristics she is
experiencing brought Sariah a great deal of frustration and verbal anxiety.
In other cases, children are unable to pronounce properly the words, sometimes they are
stuttering, and sometimes they are playing out of words.
Imagining these difficulties, life is really hard for them especially when people around them
do not know their condition and they will laugh and get mean towards them. Language and
communication are very essential into our everyday life. It is our way to connect with other people
and it is our way to fight for what we know is right, but, it’s sad because there are people who needs
to suffer difficulties towards language and communication that affects their daily lives as a person.
Nevertheless, these characteristics shouldn’t stop them from getting better each day but
rather, these characteristics should play as their motivation to become better and lead them into a
life that will bring them hope that soon, they will live like others.
IV. DESCRIPTION OF SUPPORT SHOWN
Support shown to the learners with language and communication disorder encompasses a lot
of meaning. This will help the learners to push through their problem and overcome it soon. This will
also uplift their downness when people are trying to bring them down because of their disorder. And
this will give them motivation to be better each day because of the unending support they are
receiving.

A. Family
A family that supports each other will always remain as one in fighting any problem that will
go along the way whatever it is. Hence, even if it is a problem in suffering a disorder, family should
always be the first one to support their members.
Support shown by the family in the cases presented are visible and very vivid. Everyone are
undergoing proper treatment and proper interventions in the hands of the professionals. They are
receiving the right method for them to be better each day, thus, this will never happen without any
support from the family. People or learners with difficulties in language and communication are still
fighting because everyone who surrounds them believe that they can surpass anything and everything.
They are getting better each day because of the heartwarming support from their family. Therefore,
support from the family is indeed important because this will help the person involve to get better
each day and to never lose hope.
B. School
School is the second home of every learners. Inside the four corners of their room, they are
learning a lot and outside their rooms, they are gaining a lot of experiences. Thus, it is always the job
of the school to provide the necessary and proper treatment for their learners whether it is normal
learners or special learners.
In the cases presented, a lot of interventions are shown to help them master their difficulties.
Teachers or speech therapist are doing their best inside their rooms. They are giving patience to try
and try until their learners can finally pronounce a word properly or recognize a visual images
correctly. They are giving their best to give the care and attention which their learners deserve.
Therefore, inside the school, the support shown by the administrators, teachers or professionals in
the field is indeed remarking and it is very appropriate in the situation of their learners.
C. Community
The community is a place where a lot of different personalities and different characteristics
will be shown. It will be hard to socialize if people in the surrounding do not understand the situation
or the behavior showed by different ones, therefore, it is important that the community where the
people with language and communication disorder resides is a place that will understand them and
will help them to do better.

The videos presented shows a community where the learners with difficulty can have the
freedom to socialize because everyone of them, understand the situation. They are not afraid to be
themselves because they know no one will judge them. And most especially, they can easily interact
with one another because of the support they show with one another. As they say, the birds with the
same feather, flocked together which I think, it means that people who have the same characteristics,
problems will always be the ones who will understand each other’s the most.
V. SUGGESTED SUPPORT STRATEGIES/ CURRICULAR ADAPTATIONS/ INTERVENTION PROCEDURES
(IN YOUR CAPACITY AS A SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATOR)
A teacher who applies the proper strategy and intervention is the ones who will have a
successful and worthy career in the future. And as a future educator, it is always my aim to help my
learners achieve their dreams in life and overcome their fears which keeping them to do good each
day. It is always my goal to have a career in which people will remember be because I became one of
the reason of their own foundation in life. It is always a career that will make me feel worthy as one.
Therefore, I should and I will always do the right thing for the betterment of my students.
A. For the Family
Communication is always the key and being open to one another. I observed my learners
inside the four corners of my room, while parents observed their children in their homes, hence,
integrating what we see in the school and in their home is something essential to provide correct
interventions for them. And as a future teacher, it is my job to do the following for their betterment
and for their family.
Assessment and treatment of children's communication problems involve cooperative efforts
with others such as parents, audiologists, psychologists, social workers, classroom teachers, special
education teachers, guidance counselors, physicians, dentists, and nurses. Speech-language
pathologists work with diagnostic and educational evaluation teams to provide comprehensive
language and speech assessments for children. This is a kind of team whom everyone deserves.
Professionals in the field and the parents are in one to provide comprehensive language and speech
assessments for children which will surely help them to reach a higher progress for themselves. Thus,
as a teacher, it is my responsibility to initiate the process to the parents so that every flow and process
is at peace.

Parents can make sure their teacher knows what supports or strategies the child needs. These
may include asking a child to repeat what they said, say it using different words, type it in the chat,
draw it on a whiteboard, or use gestures if others don’t understand. Parents also can encourage the
teacher and classmates to tell the child if they don’t understand them. This situation is an example of
what a parent and a teacher must do. They should working together so that both of them knows what
to do and how to do it. They should be in one process to attain one goal. Therefore, in my capacity as
a future teacher, I should do the same thing because I know this will help me to strengthen my ways
of teaching to my future students.
B. For the School
In the future, I will be one of the staff in a certain school. And it is important for me to help
my school uplift its good image and to retain all the achievement it gained, hence, I will make sure to
be a teacher who will always think for the betterment of my learners and my school.
In the future, I will do the following strategies to help my learners grow and have some
progress as well as the school.
Read books together. It can be difficult for a child with speech and language problems to
share their thoughts and ideas with the world. When you read with your child, encourage them to
name objects and read words aloud. This helps to strengthen your child’s speech and language skills.
Indeed, creating a relationship with your learners while learning is very important in the process of
teaching because through this way, your learners will not just remember you as a teacher but as also
a friend who gave them patience when they need one.
Describe your environment. Describe the activities you share and the objects that fill your
environment. Letting your learners know what the activities you will going to impart is something that
will drive their motivation to participate and introducing them to the environment which they need
to deal in is something that will give them a hint of excitement and curiosity reason for them to try
and enjoy each moment. The environment should always go along with their interest.
Use variety of words. Using different words will help them wonder and explore on what they
can do more as a learners. This variety of words must be a way for them to learn new things and to
master new language that they can impart with others. Through mastering different words will train
and practice them in giving speeches or even at least a small and proper communication with others.

Sing out loud. If your child has a condition that makes it difficult for them to speak, you may
want to consider singing. When you and your child spend time singing songs, they’re able to use and
exercise their voice in a therapeutic way. Integrating a song to the learning process is an effective way
to convince and persuade everyone to participate. Through singing, they are unintentionally speaking
different words which will help them practice their voice and many other words. Plus, they are
engaging excitement to the learning process of the learners which will drive them to participate and
engage more.
Sign everything. Using sign language when naming objects or speaking with your child can
also help boost their ability to use language to communicate. While this is a necessary step for deaf
children, it can also be helpful for children who have difficulty speaking for other reasons. As being
said, signing everything is most commonly used by the deaf however, this also an effective way for a
person with language and communication disorder. Signing will boost their motivation to learn new
words and new language. This will trigger their willingness to learn and to interact properly to other
student.
The said strategies are just some of the interventions that a teacher can apply inside and
outside the classroom environment. This strategies will help the learners and the school to progress
together with a positive feedback from the people who trust their programs and strategies. In over-
all, a teacher who knows how to lift up the image of the school and the confident of the learners is
someone I will look up to in the future
C. For the Community
Practicing learners with language and communication disorder will give a big impact in the
community. We all know that communication is important for a community to work. We all need to
communicate properly in order to plan programs for the betterment of everyone. We need to
communicate in order share different insights and opinions that can contribute for the benefits of
everyone. Hence, it is my great pleasure to help learners with language and communication disorder
overcome their difficulties in order for them to contribute their suggestions properly to other people.
It my honor to help them contribute on the development of their own community.
For the community to prosper and for the community to develop is one of the most remarking
contribution that a person can make for their whole life. It is where their life will be more worthy and
more essential to other people.

VI. CONCLUSION
Language and communication disorder is a real problem to anyone who is suffering from it.
They couldn’t express what they need to express. They couldn’t pronounce words which they badly
want to pronounce and they couldn’t interact properly with other people because not everyone can
understand their situation.
Cases presented in the video made me realized something as a teacher and that I shouldn’t
give up with my learners. I should try every possible ways and interventions to help them progress
and develop everytime. I should be patience correcting their mistakes and always be caring and
understanding for their situation. Because among anyone else, it is me whom they can lean on with
the condition they have.
In totality, I therefore conclude that in facing a disorder, cooperation and unity of everyone
who are involved in the process is really important because this will drive everyone into success. This
will help the family, the school and the community to prosper.
