Adjectives: Degree of comparison.

There are three degrees of comparison.


1. Positive
2. Comparative
3. Superlative

1. Positive –is used to describe only


person, or only one thing. It means
without making any comparison.

Examples:
Persons
Jomar is tall.
Mary is smart.

Things
This ruler is long.
This calculator is small.

Again what do you call the first degree of

2. Comparative – it is used to compare


to person or two things. It denotes Positive degree
comparison from one to the other.

In comparative, we simply add

This calculator is smaller than this
