12-Week Beginner Swim Training Plan

This 12-week training plan aims to prepare beginner swimmers to complete a 10 km open water swim. It involves swimming 4-5 times per week, with sessions of varying intensity including easy swimming, intervals, and threshold workouts. The plan gradually increases in difficulty over time to build endurance and the ability to swim long distances at goal pace. Recovery is also emphasized through rest days and easier swim sessions.
