Chocolate is especially rich in flavanols like epicatechin and
catechin, as well as anthocyanins and phenolic acids. All of these
compounds help protect your cells from inflammation, improve
your brain function, and boost your immune and cardiovascular
health. Dark chocolates can also give you cardiovascular
support.
Four types of chocolates
1. Dark chocolate
2. Milk chocolate
3. White chocolate
4. Ruby chocolates

1.1 Background of the study :


About Cadbury – The Cadbury manufacturing business was born in
1831, when John Cadbury decided to start producing on a
commercial scale and bought a four- store warehouse in near by
crooked lane. By 1842 John Cadbury was selling no less than 16
varieties of drinking chocolate and 11 cocas.
In June 1905, in Birmingham England George Cadbury jr made
cadbury’s first diary milk bar, with a higher proportion of milk than
previous chocolate bar by 1914, it would become the company’s
best-selling product. Through its development, the bar was
variously called ‘Highland Milk’, ‘Jersey’, and ‘Dairy maid’.

1.2 Justification of the study :


In today’s times the Indian chocolate market is ruled by the two chocolate
power houses of the world which are NESTLE & CADBURY. I have undertaken
this project to compare both of these firms on the basis of their product mix,
marketing mix and a comparative SWOT analysis . I am doing this project to
get a better and a deeper knowledge about the marketing strategies of these
firms and to find out which one is better out of these two.

1.3 Objective of the study :
In today’s time Indian chocolate market is ruled by two chocolates power
houses of the world which are NESTLE & CADBURY .
1. The objective is to know about the customer satisfaction level associated
with the product and the customer preference level
2. To increase customer satisfaction and recapture the market share by
fulfilling the customer needs.
3. To identify which brand is more consumed by customer.
4. o be an ongoing company and achive revenue growth of 10% per year .
