Types of Passing in Football

Passing is an important skill in football that allows teams to maintain possession, counterattack, and create scoring opportunities. There are three main types of passes: the push pass, instep pass, and lofted pass. The push pass uses the inside of the foot to send the ball with precision and control to a teammate. It requires less power than other passes. To perform a push pass, place your non-kicking foot next to the ball with toes pointed at the target, swing your kicking leg back and swing it forward to contact the center of the ball with the arch of your foot. Practicing wall passing with both feet from increasing distances can help improve this skill.
