☺ “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan” Jose Rizal

• This statement po is a well-known quote by Our Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.
It says that the future of our country daw po is naka depende daw po sa kabataan and
sinasabi din po na youths hold the key to the progress as well as the development of the
nation.

• So ano nga ba yung connection ng quote na ito sa Contemporary Art? So, for me po, it is
relevant to Philippine contemporary arts in the sense that young artists play po as a crucial
role sa pag shape po ng direction of the country's artistic and cultural landscape.

• Moreover, po yung mga kabataan po kase is usually involved in using art as a means of
social commentary po in addressing issues such as poverty, corruption etc. And through
their art po, they are able to raise awareness and inspire action on these particular issues
po.

☺ So, moving on, let me discuss the Philippine Contemporary Art.

✓ uhm im not that sure pero i think naging subject na during senior high itong contemporary
arts. So going back nga, ang contempt art din ay tinatawag na 21st century art. When we
say contemporary art ito yung mga arts that is produced or created by artists living today.
Ang pinaka key word para matandaan natin kung ano ang Contemporary art is yung word
na “the art of today”.

✓ Additionally, Contemporary art includes many different types of art po such as painting,
sculpture, photography, performance art, at marami pang iba. What makes contemporary
art different from art made in the past is that it often deals po with current issues. This
means that contemporary artists use their art po to comment on things like politics, society,
and more. In short, contemporary art is a way for artists to express their ideas and engage
with the world around them in creative and meaningful ways.
☺ “THERE ARE SOME IMPACTS OF TECHNOLOGY AND GLOBALIZATION PO IN
ARTS”

✓ Una na po dyan is yung massive progress in technology, it had a significant impact on the
arts in terms of the mediums and techniques used. Dahil na nga po sa advancement of new
technology, marami na sa artists have access to a broader range of tools and materials,
which is nag allow sa kanila para makapag produce ng art in ways na kung dati inaakala
natin hindi pedeng mangyare.

✓ One of the most significant changes brought about by technology is yung the rise of digital
art. Some of us naman po is alam na there are Artists that can now create art using digital
tools such as graphics tablets, 3D modeling software, and etc.

✓ Aside from that po, Technology has also impacted traditional art forms such as painting
and sculpture. Dahil nga po sa development ng new materials and techniques, artists are
now able to create works that were once impossible. For example, po is yung 3D printing.
Technology has allowed sculptors po to create complex forms that would have been
difficult to achieve po using traditional methods.

 Second is The invention of computer technology which has greatly influenced graphics art
and combined arts in several ways. Isa na po dyan is through the creation of new forms of
art that combines traditional techniques with digital tools. For example po, is digital
painting it allows artists po to create images that look like traditional paintings po, but with
the added benefits of digital tools na po such as yung tinatawag na mga layers, masking,
and also you can undo/redo options while making ur art po.

 Furthermore, computer technology has made it possible po to combine different forms of


art, such as yung music, video, and animation, into a single work na. With this po, it has
opened up new possibilities for multimedia art installations, where yung artists can create
immersive experiences that combine sound, visuals, and interactivity.

♦ Third po is the introduction of new materials and the innovativeness of artists to try out
new media, designs, and techniques that have played a significant role in the
commercialization of sculpture and architecture.

♦ So, in sculpture po, the introduction of new materials po such as yung plastic, fiberglass,
and other synthetic materials has allowed the artists po to create works that are more
durable and easier to produce compared po sa traditional materials such as marble or
bronze.

♦ Similarly, in architecture naman po the introduction of new materials and techniques has
enabled naman po our architects to create structures that are more efficient, sustainable,
and visually appealing. For example, nalang po is the use of steel, concrete, and glass in
modern architecture nag aallow po ito sa architects to create buildings that are more
durable, spacious, and energy-efficient than traditional materials such as brick and stone.

♦ Overall, the introduction of new materials and the innovativeness of artists to try out new
media, designs, and techniques have played a significant role in the commercialization of
sculpture and architecture. By embracing new technologies and techniques, artists and
architects have been able to create works po that are both functional and aesthetically
pleasing, which has helped them to increase their commercial appeal and generate income
from their work.

1st is yung kay Agnes Arellano entitled “GAIA” based on the picture the materials that has
been used is bronze, the size of the artwork is 27.94 by 15.875cm.

2nd is yung kay Cris Villanueva Jr. entitled “The shaped of history” so yung materials
naman na ginamit dito ay wood, acrylic, and oil stick on canvas, the size of the artwork is
152.4 by 121.92 cm.

3rd artwork yung kay Dexter Sy entitled “Coming Out” it is type of mixed media on canvas”
size 152.4 by 121.92cm.

4th is Elmer Borlongan his artwork entitled “rueda” he used acrylic on canvas size is 152.4
by 121.92 cm.
