Title of the Activity: Handling Data Analytics Like a Pro

Objective(s):
1. To provide a deeper understanding of how to apply quantitative modeling and
data analysis techniques to the solution of real-world business problems,
communicate findings, and effectively present results.
2. To acquaint all the 4th-year IE students with data analytics and its relevance to
the workplace.

Rationale:
The seminar entitled “Handling Data Analytics Like a Pro ” is organized by a
group of BS Industrial Engineering students from De La Salle Lipa which will be held on
the 21st of March, 2022. This is a two-hour seminar program that aims to provide the
4th year students a deeper understanding of data analytics, its benefits and intricacies,
and how it is applied to solve real-world business problems at present times. All 4th
year IE students are expected to attend and participate since it will help them gather
enough knowledge and enhance their data-analytical skills which can be used in their
future workplaces.
The program is expected to start at 11:00 AM and end by 1:00 PM. Starting with
a few reminders, opening remarks, and an ice breaker, followed by the topic discussion
led by the invited speaker as well as the question and answer session. The program will
end with a closing remark from one of our teachers-in-charge and a prayer.

At the end of the program, the students are expected to have gathered
knowledge on data analytics and understood its concept on a deeper level. Students
are also expected to then learn the soft skills that are required to effectively
communicate data to stakeholders, and how mastering these skills can give them the
option to become data-driven decision-makers.

MECHANICS / GUIDELINES

General Guidelines:
1. All participants must be in the meeting 5 minutes before the orientation starts.
2. Keep your mics muted if not being asked by the speaker or host.
3. All participants are encouraged to open their cameras throughout the duration of
the webinar.
4. Google Meet chat box must only be used when asked or when necessary.
5. Be attentive and take note of all the things that will be discussed throughout the
session.
6. Participants are reminded to acquire their own individual screenshots of
segments of the seminar for documentation purposes.

Games/Kahoot Mechanics:

1. Open to 4th year Industrial Engineering students of De La Salle Lipa only.


2. The game mechanics will be that each student should log in to
[Link] and copy the code provided by the organizer and paste it to
the website.
3. Students should pick the correct answer from the set of questions prepared in the
quiz.
4. The points & scores that will be received depends on how fast the participant
cast their answers. The top 3 high scorers will be declared as winners of the
game
