Eco friendly World
It is well known that climate change hasn’t been good for the planet Earth because animals
are in danger of extinction, the poles are melting, the water scarcity increases and all the
garbage we generate goes to the ocean, affecting the marine life, so we must stop it, raising
awareness about this serious problem and saving all the resources we have.
Governments and local authorities across the globe are feeling the pressure of their own
citizens, especially the Generation Z, who are notoriously fighting for the environmental
change and encouraging countries to look at the new ways to become more sustainable and
tackle this global issue. (Open Access Goverment , 2019)
Greta Thunberg is an activist; she has fought in pressuring to the governments about the
risks and consequences of climate change if we don’t do anything to face it.
As result of this, there are more eco-friendly cities with the purpose to eliminate the
pollution and keep the animal’s life.
According to THE ENVIROMENTOR (2017), the most eco-friendly cities are:
1. Reykjavik, Iceland: this city is one of the cleanest places in the world, Reykjavik has
hydrogen buses in its streets, and the electricity comes from the renewable,
geothermal, and hydropower sources.
2. Vancouver, Canada: This is in the proximity to the mountains and nature, besides the
city scores well with the regards to CO2 emissions.
3. Helsinki, Finland: This is the cleanest and happiest place in the world because this
city makes it easy or its commuters to cycle through the city and use public
transportation which reduces air pollution.
4. Cape Town, South Africa: it uses energy from South Africa’s first commercial wind
farm, transforming the city to provide for bike routes, and supporting farmers
markets.
5. San Francisco, California: People, instead of using the car to move around the city,
they use public transportation, bikes and walks, San Francisco is a good leader in the
environmental movement for the rest of America.
Eco friendly cities are good beginning to make our lives easier and stop our plastic and
fossil fuels dependence, however, it’s important that people star to do green activities in
their lifestyle, for example:
• Recycle paper: use the paper you don’t use to handcrafts or create new piece of
papers to make notebooks, instead of getting rid of it in the garbage and avoid
the felled trees
• Use the water from the washing machine: with a bin we can collect water to
clean the house and flushing the toilet to waste less water.
• Eat more vegetables than meat to reduce the animals hunting.
• Use the car less, ride bike or take the public transportation to move around the
city you live
In conclusion, if we have a good Earth planet humans will live more time, we’ll be able
to create new things, even create things that can benefit animals to ensure their life. Everyone
will be happier.
