Rapid Copy Method
Ray: Hi there. This is Ray Edwards with your next bonus which is the rapid
copywriting method, which is really pretty simple. I'm recommending that you use a
swipe file, a piece of copy that's been successful for someone else. Probably best if
it's in another market different from yours, and that you use it to model and rewrite
your own copy. I'm going to show you exactly how to use swipe file copy without
stealing or committing copywriting infringement, or copyright infingement. I'm using a
program called Dictate. On the PC it's called Dragon Dictate, I believe. It's voice
dictation software and it's all setup and ready to go.
This is my swipe file document here on the left. This is one of the emails that is in
the autoresponder swipe file that I've given you as a bonus with your copywriting
academy program. And then on the right, I have a blank document where I'm going
to use Dictate to use this copy to write an email for a totally different product. On the
left, I'm writing an email about a 40-day coaching program called Permission to
Prosper. On the right, I'm going to write about a 21-day good eating habit program.
It's a totally different market. It's not about making money, it's about eating better. It's
not 40 days, just 21 days.
We're just going to say that my name is Jim Dandy. This is how I would use the
swipe file email on the left to write a new email modeling the old one without stealing
or committing any legal or ethical infractions. Here we go. I'm going to start the
Dictate software and then go to work on this email. Before I do that, I'm going to also
tell you that I'm going to be tracking the speed with which I'm writing. I've got a little
app that times my writing and we'll see just how well I'm clocking when I'm dictating.
I recommend that you dictate, that's the secret to rapid writing of any kind, especially
rapid copywriting. I'm going to go ahead and start my timer and word counter, and
here we go.

moment, and never do anything at all.

So I end the dictation and let's see how many words I actually generated. So that's
448 words and if we take the time that we spent writing those words, that actually
comes up to about 5,000 words an hour, if I were writing for an hour. Now, you
probably won't write at an hour at a stretch, but the point is who can write 5,000
words an hour? You can if you do it this way. Now there's some mistakes in here like
you have to go back and clean some things up, excavation point should have been
this, an exclamation point, so you do have to do a little bit of editing.

But remember, one of the things that I teach about writing is that you want to write
without editing while you write, and using dictation software means you don't have a
chance to edit, you just have to keep going and you take care of the errors later. So I
actually like dictation software, now it's gotten inexpensive enough and it's gotten
accurate enough that we can use it to write really fast, do some minor editing when
we're done and we can create big volumes of copy in a very short period of time. So
that's the secret of rapid copywriting, writing as much as 5,000 words an hour which
means you can finish a sales letter or any sales letter writing project or even a book
writing project in record time. Enjoy.
