REVISIT the Learning Essentials

Routines are the backbone of daily classroom life. They facilitate teaching and
learning routines don’t just make the life of the teacher easier. They save valuable classroom
time. Efficient routines make it easier for students to learn and achieve more.
Establishing routines early in the school year:

 enables you to run your daily activities run smoothly;

 ensure you to manage time effectively;
 help you maintain order in the classroom;
 makes you more focused in teaching because you spend less time in giving
directions/ instructions; and
 enables you to explain to the learners what are expected to them.

Analyze the routines set by the Resource Teacher by answering the following
questions.

1. Were the routines effective in ensuring discipline and order in the class? Why? Why
not?
Yes, most of the routines successfully preserve peace and order in the
classroom. As a result, Mr. Carillo can efficiently and effectively manage the entire
class and conduct class activities. This simply indicates that the instructor is the
authoritative figure in the classroom. And the instructor has the authority to discipline
the students since he is in control.

The signing of the activities/assignments is one of the routines suggested above that I will
probably implement in my class. It makes use of the idea of genuine learning, where students
are given the chance to develop and provide valuable output and assessment.

Classroom rules are imperative and must be reinforced for learner’s safety and
security. Rules also teach discipline and self-control. Rules eliminate stress and will provide
a more pleasant, secured and non-threatening environment. Rules ensure the students’

1. Analyze each given rule. What circumstances led to the formation of the rule?

They consider several factors while creating rules. A few of these include engaging in
unethical conduct, pursuing a safe and healthy learning environment, minimizing
disturbances, teaching positive values and character traits, maintaining order, and managing
the classroom.

2. Are Classroom rules really important?

To keep students secure, and interested, and build positive relationships with one
another, classroom rules are essential. It outlines what students must do in the classroom. In
addition, lessons wouldn't be performed in an orderly and well-organized manner without
rules, which are important for us to act, behave, and function in any social situation positively
and properly.

Reflect on the various classroom rules set by the Resource Teacher. Will you have
the same rules? If not, what rules are you going to employ? Explain your answer.
Yes, I will continue to utilize and practice the same methods, but because the
students are the primary focus of these rules, I will seek their assistance in developing new
ones. It is not just the teacher's responsibility to enforce these classroom rules. It is also an
obligation for students. Regulations that are important and relevant to them and that they
require can be included. I believe the mentioned rules are useful for efficiently managing a
classroom.

The signing of the activities/assignments, which the students will

gather and pass at the end of the semester and serves as their project,
is one of the routines used by the resource teacher that is worth
emulating. It will be easier for the teacher to keep track of which
pupils are completing their assignments and activities and which ones are
not.
