(a). Project Title

The title of the project is entitled Tale as old as time which corresponds to the project
objectives made by the proponents.

(b). Project Duration

The project's timeframe, from January to May, will comprise project planning,
preparation, and implementation of the project before the end of the school year 2022-2023.

(c). Project Scope

The implementation of the project will be held at Kiwanis Foundation for the Indigent
Aged, Inc in Immaculada Subdivision, Brgy. Isabag, Lucena City, Philippines. This location was
selected as the most appropriate site for the given project and for the targeted beneficiaries.

(d). Project Status

The project is not new to the ears as numerous volunteers and other organizations have
conducted the same activity for the same targeted beneficiaries as people with a good heart, who
are genuinely concerned about the community and had the same idea to care for our elderlies.
The proponents will continue the legacy of previous students at MSEUF who had the same idea
to provide entertainment, personal comfort, and peace of mind for both the elderly and their
families.

(e). Project Beneficiaries

This project directly intends to aid, assist, serve, support, and give entertainment to the
elderly at Kiwanis Foundation for the Indigent Aged. The said project will not only benefit the
elderlies of the Foundation but also indirectly benefits the families, and caretakers of the home in
which they reside as they are affected by this project’s aim to help the elderly, entertain, and be
nurtured by the students. The current number of elderly living in the house for the indigent aged
are three.

(f). Project Background

The elderly is an essential part of any nation's population and deserve the same respect
and care as the other demographic groups. However, because of modernity and changing family
structures, it has become more difficult for the senior population to live a relatively
good lifestyle. The most concerning situations that the elderly face is loneliness, and negligence.
They also face illnesses brought on by aging and inadequate care. The reason why elderlies end
up in homes for the aged is because people can't take care of themselves which leads to them
ending up in healthcare institutions. When a person doesn't have a family member or caretaker to
aid them at home, they end up in nursing facilities (Garcia-Leavitt, 2017).

Hence, the CWTS students of L007 Group 10 will take the time to care for the elderly at
Kiwanis home for the aged and follow the given timeframe for implementation to make sure they
are able to achieve the objectives in time. This community project instills the importance of
valuing people and the time we spend with them. Which will help the elderly and the community
realize the act of giving.

The project first came into mind as an idea of one of the proponents as the student has
experienced visiting the home for the aged and was taken into consideration immediately once
the students were tasked to submit multiple project proposals.

(g). Project Justification

Some elderly people that can be seen inside the home for the aged had never been visited
by any family member since they were transferred there. Personal visits give you the opportunity
to check in on their health and overall well-being. These visits present the opportunity to make
sure that they are happy in their new home and staying healthy. You can lend a helping hand if
they ever need any of assistance. It is always a good idea to check in with their caregivers to find
out how they are doing health-wise. These visits also create new memories for all of those
involved to happily look back on. Even if it is just a simple walk or activity, your loved one will
have great times with the people they care about to look back on when you and your family are
not able to be around in person.

The problem stems from when a person's care requirements are greater than what their
loved ones can provide, they end up in nursing homes. When the family's financial resources are
depleted by the cost of their care, numerous individuals wind up in nursing homes in accordance
with Garcia-Leavitt (2017). The elderly needs someone to lean on, someone they can count on,
someone who could give comfort and nurture them, especially during the final moments in their
life to improve their quality of life or at least for a moment in their lives to feel that someone
cares for them and loves them until the end of their time. By just simple visitations of their loves
ones has shown a positive effect on the elderly. According to Kadmin (2018), seniors can feel
less lonely and emotionally engaged by spending time with family or other loved ones. Although
they will make acquaintances in their nursing homes, nothing compares to seeing the loved ones
they have back home. Elders who receive these visits may be able to avoid despair, social
isolation, and stress.

This project will help those elderly who were neglected by their families and it directly
aims to help, serve, support, and provide entertainment to the elderly at the Kiwanis Foundation
for the Indigent Aged. As it is difficult to prevent people from leaving the elderly behind in these
kinds of homes, the proponents will take their stead on behalf of those families. The said project
will not only benefit the elderly of the Foundation but also indirectly benefit the families, and
caregivers of the house they live in.

The overall project whose goal is will continue the legacy of past MSEUF students who
had a similar idea of providing entertainment, personal comfort, and peace of mind for both the
elderly and their families. Directly intended to help, care, support, and provide recreation to our
elderly.

(h). Project Objectives

The primary objective of the project “Tale as old as time” intends to emphasize the act of
kindness to the elders of Kiwanis homes for the aged in a way that the student would spend their
time interacting with the elders. In accordance with the general objective, the students aim to
accomplish the following specific objectives towards the end of the project.

1. To bring back the joy that they have experienced in the past, restoring ease, comfort,
special love, and care for the elderly.
2. To establish relationships with the old, their families, and caretakers.
3. To aid in maintaining or regaining the optimum level of physical, mental, and
emotional health as well as to prevent or forestall the onset of illness.
4. To provide care with additional assistance which may stop them from feeling
isolated, lonely, and depressed.
5. To continue to help in providing the elderly the sense of a community, a social life
that will empower and energize them.
6. To offer unconditional care so the elderly can live in a setting that fosters positive
relationships, trust, respect, and compassion for others.

(i). Project Description

Solicitation from peers, family, friends and any agency who are willing to help us will be
conducted in executing this activity for the community.

The project “Tale as old as time” is dedicated to providing quality care for elderly people
in the Kiwanis home for the aged. Not just only care that the caregivers usually do in the said
house organization but our mission is to create a comfortable and nurturing environment for our
residents, where they can enjoy their golden years with dignity and independence.

We, the CWTS students of L007 Group 10, aim to provide entertainment for the
residents. This could involve organizing activities such as games, dancing and singing with them,
musical performances, or other events that would provide enjoyment and engagement for the
residents. The goal of the project would be to provide a regular source of entertainment and
enjoyment for the residents of the Kiwanis Home for the Aged.

Moreover, the proponents want to achieve to make the elderly feel that they are
significant despite the loneliness that they feel. Not limited to entertainment and enjoyment for
our residents but also, for them to feel that they are still a part of this life.

(j). Project Proponent

The one who will manage the project will be from cluster L007, group 10 along with
the other two groups that the said group have collaborated with which are from the same cluster,
group 2 and group 5. The group 10 consists of eleven members.

gadgets such as their cell phones, this will also serve as documentation for the project as
evidence they have conducted the said activities. The project would be conducted 2-3 times,
specifically on the days it is scheduled. The receipts from every expenditure will be collected to
