ABOUT THE THEME
The Pursuit of Art
The pursuit of art has been an integral part of a craftsman’s journey, from, cave paintings to
modern day sculptures, the creation of art has always been an essential part of human
expression and creativity. Hastakala- an artistic creation done by one’s hand, speaks volumes
about this abstract theme. In this light, this theme travels through the various intricate pieces
of work that have been created by our forefathers of India. Each art piece showcases the
diverse culture of India from Warli to Madhubani forms of art, to Bharatnatyam to Kuchipudi
forms of dance, a trail of vibrant and distinctive handicraft pieces, to many more, this theme
encompasses the true spirit of Indian culture.
The beats of the tabla to the strumming of the guitar, indian music has also evolved drastically
with time. Art in Indian society has evolved over thousands of years, influenced by culture, and
historical events, which is portrayed through various art forms like dance, literature, theatre
and music.

All events are individual events.
The respective slot numbers must be mentioned on the art work.
Late submissions will not be entertained.
Usage of sharp objects such as knives, blades or glass is strictly not allowed.

Only shading pencils and charcoal pencils can be used.

The student must submit soft copies of the photographs. Soft copies can be submitted on
a memory drive/disk or pen drive.
A maximum of 3 photographs can be submitted per student.

Submitted photographs should be captured within the campus with minimal or no editing;
Minimal editing includes converting photos to black and white, cropping and/or
straightening to obtain a better frame.
Technical details like photo shutter speed, aperture, ISO, camera make, etc., of the images
must be provided to retain originality. A 50 to 100 words description of each photo must be
included in the document.
Pictures from the internet are strictly prohibited. Plagiarism will lead to immediate
disqualification.
The photographs may be used by CHRIST (Deemed to be University) for display or
publication purposes with due credits to the photographer.

The Mandala should be done on a plain A4 size sheet which the university will provide.
Other materials to be brought by the participants.
Only black or coloured pens are allowed for the same.
Crayons, Paints, Sketch pens and Permanent marker pens are not allowed.

Jammers must be clear and fluent, use of British English is a must.
Each round of elimination will be subjected to the JAM Master's decision and event co-

criterias.
Rules are strictly subjected to the JAM Master's discretion and event co-ordinators.

best use of the elements you see.
Poetry and Essay: Choice of two topics will be given on the spot.

character and put in a situation depicting an aircraft that is about to crash.
The goal of the participants is to convince the captain of the aircraft to give the only

Failing to adhere to the given rules of any event will result in disqualification.
The judge's decision will be considered as final.

Drummer, Best Arrangement and Best Original Composition.

For the first round, the duo will perform a prepared routine for a maximum of 3 minutes.

sync their choreography with any song that is played.

1. On-spot registrations are available but we encourage participants to register beforehand
since the google forms for registrations will be closed on 8th April 2023.
2. All participants must carry their college ID cards.
3. Those colleges coming from outside Bangalore must carry a bonafide document from the
college stating the permission from their respective college.
