This document provides background information for a research study on the effects of students wearing improper uniforms at Holy Family Academy in Grade 11. It discusses arguments that uniforms may improve student behavior and academic performance by promoting school pride and reducing distractions. However, others believe uniforms prevent self-expression. The purpose of the study is to determine the negative impacts of improper uniforms on academic performance for this grade level. The researchers will gather data on factors influencing uniform compliance and its relationship to student success. The abstract outlines the research title, researchers, and goal of showing how improper uniforms could harm a school's reputation.

BACKGROUND OF THE RESEARCH

Does wearing a proper school uniform benefit the student? The school
administration and student government strictly enforce the rule of proper uniform
wear, but students frequently disobey this implemented rule. Students who arrive
dressed for success, according to administrators, will be ready to learn. Students'
success can manifest itself in a variety of ways, including fewer absences, fewer
referrals for behavioral problems, fewer expulsions, higher grades, and, in some
cases, significantly higher achievement. Administrators and faculty are the
deciding factors in determining whether or not the standards are met, but it is still a
judgment call. Enforcing a new school uniform on all students "can improve
students' self-concepts, classroom behavior, and academic performance." Every
student, regardless of uniform, has their own way of learning. The student's success
is usually measured not by the clothes they wear, but by their perseverance and
determination to learn and achieve. The goal of this research study is to determine
the negative effects of students in Grade 11 ABM/HUMSS wearing improper
uniform. The researchers are researching and gathering information about the topic
under investigation for the target population.
Uniforms promote peer acceptance, school pride, and learning while reducing the
emphasis on appearance and easing the financial burden on low-income families.
According to some, uniforms improve openness, ego, and a sense of belonging in
the educational environment. Others are concerned that requiring students to wear
uniforms will prevent them from dressing as they please.
The study of the effects of school uniforms is still in its early stages and the
findings on the impact of school uniforms on student behavior, discipline,
connection to the school, attendance, and academic gains are, at best, mixed. The
primary goal of this research is to determine the impact of wearing school uniforms
on student mental health. The goal of this study is to investigate the feelings of
students who wear school uniforms and how this affects their behavior and mood.
To assist students in becoming more alive at school, maintaining a joyful mood,
and being motivated to pursue their dreams through focus and discipline in their
studies.
