Opening Prayers

A Brief introduction

Welcome to years new month. A brand-new month filled with amazing potentials.
We have an opportunity to create, recreate, reprogram our year, and reroute it
in line with God’s plan and purposes for our lives.

For the next 7 days, we will adopt God’s creation pattern recorded in Gen 1;1-27
to bring to life God’s purpose, our dreams, goals, visons and declarations. What
can you see? The only limit is the one we put on ourselves. Here’s how to do it….

Scripture Reading

…and the Earth was without form, and void and darkness covered the face of the
deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. And God said, Let there
be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God
divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness
he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” Genesis 1;2-
5

Today is the beginning of a new month. It’s empty, without form or void.
Following God’s example, the first step will be to call forth light. This light
represents vision, insight, clarity, knowledge and understanding, enlightenment,
divine revelation, and illumination. Ps 18;28 says ‘For thou will light my candle:
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness’.

We need light to navigate this month. We need clarity to navigate our visions,
goal, dreams and projects. We need God’s direction for this month.

Call forth light to eliminate every darkness, confusion, void, and chaos we’ll
encounter this month. Let our eyes and mind be opened to see and to know what
to do and where to go, the wisdom to write that book, to start that
ministry/venture, to get that dream jobs, to solve those difficult issues and to

There are three steps to this prayer method:

Step 1: Getting the Holy Spirit on the scene.

Let’s invite the Holy Spirit to help us to pray effectively. The Holy Spirit is the
Spirit of prayer and intercession and know exactly what we should pray for and
as we should. Without His help, we will not be effective in our prayers.

1b: The prayer of consecration and repentance.

We’ll begin with pray the prayer of repentance and consecration. The Holy Spirit
will not come if we are living in sin or there is sin present in our lives. We have
to start with repentance from our wicked ways and purging ourselves with the
blood of Jesus, then consecrate ourselves to God again.

If you are here and you are not yet born again, you have to accept Jesus as your
Lord and Savior, confess every known and unknown sins, and if you know you have
moved away from God, please rededicate your life to God. 1 John 1; 9 says if we
confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all
our unrighteousness. If you are here and you have unforgiveness against anyone,
you have to let it go or you’ll be wasting your time in this prayer. And whenever
you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your
Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive,
neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-
26.

Step 2: Here we begin to activate the power of the Holy Spirit in us. In the
beginning, the earth was in a hopeless situation with darkness everywhere,
empty, uninhabited, desolate and water covered everywhere. The Holy Spirit
began to move over the face of the chaos. He charged up the atmosphere making
it ready to receive the spoken words of God. The presence of the Holy Spirit
creates things and makes impossible things possible.

A good example is during the conception of Jesus in Luke 1:34-38. Here the power
of the Holy Spirit came upon Mary’s womb and prepared it to receive God’s word
and when Mary spoke the word, Jesus was conceived. This is impossible in the
natural world as Jesus was conceived without a human sperm. But with God and
the presence of the Holy Spirit, all things are possible.

The keys to activation we will use in these 7 days prayers are the prayer of faith,
heartfelt prayers and praying in tongues (i.e., praying in the Holy Ghost). “The
earnest/heartfelt prayer of a righteous man has great power and produces wonderful
results” James 5;16b NLT.

There is great power within you, and it comes from the Holy Spirit residing in you
as long as you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and saviour. You cannot use this
method of prayer without the power of the Holy Ghost. “Now to Him who is able
to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think according to the power at
work within us.” Ephesians 3;20 ESV.

When this power is activated, it rests on your tongue, your actions and it hovers
over your situation(s), your visions, and goals. It causes the word of God and your
declarations to be enforced and to become a reality. This power makes impossible
things possible.

Your job today is to make your declarations by the power of the Holy Spirit, and
the enforcement agents of heaven will bring them to pass.

Step 3: Declarations

Here we begin to make declarations just the way God did in Genesis 1 by calling
forth light and things we do not see into existence. If there are any darkness,
chaos and confusion in your life and situation begin to call forth light in the name
of Jesus.

Prayers

Step 1 Prayers-Prayers of repentance and consecration.

Isaiah 59:1-2 “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his
ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between
you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not
hear.”

1 Chronicles 7;14: “If my people which are called by me name, shall humble
themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Let us begin to present ourselves before God in humility and submission,

confessing sins and asking for His mercy and divine intervention in our lives. In
any way we have brought evil upon ourselves knowingly and unknowingly, we
ask God for mercy and forgiveness. He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse
us from all unrighteousness. and heal our land.

[You can do this prayer kneeling].

• I come before you Lord this new month with Thanksgiving in my mouth for
your faithfulness, for your mercies, and for the grace and opportunity to
stand before you today.

• I come before you in thanksgiving for this new year and month and for all
that you have done in my life.

• I thank you for your love, provision, preservation, your guidance, your
protection towards me and my family.

• I come on behalf of myself and my family in humility and with a contrite

heart. I plead the blood of Jesus over our lives, our spirits, our soul, our
spirits, and our bodies. According to Heb. 4: I6, I come boldly again in this
new year unto your throne of Grace, to obtain mercy and find grace to help
me in 2023.

• I come by the blood of Jesus and i come by the new and living way that has
been consecrated unto us.

• On behalf of myself and my family, I renounce every deed of darkness that

we may have entered into knowingly and unknowingly In Jesus name. I
renounce every negative speech I may have spoken over my life. Deeds and
speech that has defiled us and caused us to soil our garments. Deeds and
speech that has displeased you and has caused you to turn your face from
us.

 • We repent and ask for mercy and forgiveness in Jesus name. Father have
mercy upon me and on us, 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, you are
Faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

• Have mercy upon us Lord, let your mercy triumph over judgement. Help us,
deliver us O God by your mercy.

• I present all my members and faculties as a living sacrifice, holy, devoted

and consecrated and well pleasing to you Lord (Romans 12:1).

• I humble myself before you Lord. For without you Lord I can do nothing (John
15:5c).

• I yield myself to the Spirit of prayer and intercession. Thank you for helping
me to pray. (Romans 8:26).

• Let the results of my prayers be evident unto all to the Glory of your Holy
name. Amen.

• Thank you for the grace to pray in Jesus name. Thank you for saving me. I

• My tongue is the pen of a ready writer: as I open my mouth to pray and

decree in the name of Jesus; everything I say will come to pass in Jesus

you for utterance to pray according to the will of God.

venture, the wisdom to manage this situation, the clarity on what to do

light over that situation.
