The Weardale Railcard gives local residents 50% off adult fares and up to 4 children travel for a flat fare of just 1* on all scheduled Weardale Railway Community Rail and Heritage Services. The Railcard costs just 15 for a whole year of savings.
* Child flat fare is 3 on Heritage Services You can use your Weardale Railcard, for long and short hops. Better still you can use it anytime during the week, weekends and Public Holidays. There are no time restrictions for travel. The Weardale Railcard will give you savings on both Single and Return tickets.

Eligibility
Youre eligible to buy a Weardale Railcard if you permanently reside in any of the following post code areas:DL4 Shildon and surrounding area DL5 Newton Aycliffe and surrounding area DL13 Wolsingham, Frosterley, Stanhope and surrounding area DL14 Bishop Auckland and surrounding area DL15 Crook and surrounding area Conditions of issue and use of the Weardale Railcard and reduced priced tickets (discounted tickets) bought with a Weardale Railcard:-

The named holder must sign the Weardale Railcard Application form to show acceptance of all the Conditions listed in this leaflet. The Railcard and tickets bought with it are not transferable and must not be given, loaned, or resold to anyone else. Only the named cardholder can use the Railcard. The maximum group size is the named card holder (aged 16 years and over), and four children (aged 515 years). Children under 5 are free. Tickets for your journey can be purchased before boarding the train at staffed stations or onboard the train when boarding at unstaffed stations and when buying tickets you must show the Railcard. You must carry your Railcard with you on your journey and when asked by rail staff, you must show a valid ticket and valid Railcard. If you fail to do so, you and each member of your group will be required to pay the appropriate single fare for the journey being made, as if no tickets were held. Accompanying children for whom discounted tickets are purchased must travel with the Railcard holder throughout the journey. Discounted Community Rail Service tickets are not valid for travel on Weardale Railway Heritage Services unless the appropriate supplement has been purchased. Railcard discounts also apply to Heritage Supplements. Discounts are not available on special services such as charter trains or Santa Special services.

The Railcard will not be valid if it is damaged. Weardale Railways CIC do not undertake to replace damaged, lost or stolen Railcards, to issue refunds on unused/unwanted Railcards, or to extend their validity. However, an application for the replacement of a Railcard may be made at Stanhope station ticket office. A 5 administration fee will be payable for the replacement of a damaged, lost or stolen Railcard.
10. The Railcard and all tickets issued at a Railcard discount are issued subject to the Weardale Railways CIC
Conditions of Carriage and the Terms & Conditions listed here. Copies of the Conditions of Carriage are available from Stanhope Station Ticket Office.
11. The Railcard remains the property of Weardale Railways CIC and if requested must be handed in to a
representative of Weardale Railways CIC.
12. The right is reserved to revise these Terms & Conditions. Weardale Railways CIC will endeavor to give

Please provide documentary evidence of permanent address (such as a utility bill or driving licence), a passport size photograph and payment. Payment can be made by debit / credit card (American Express not accepted), cheque or cash at Stanhope Station. Cheques should be made payable to Weardale Railways CIC. IMPORTANT.
