 It’s another snowy Thursday evening and here’s another trip down memory lane

with Rick’s Classic Rock here at ABCD, the voice of Beantown Radio.
 We have the Rolling Stones on tap tonight along with a little Steppenwolf and a
healthy serving of Led Zeppelin. So let’s start the evening with a perennial
favorite, “Stairway to Heaven.”
 You just heard Stairway to Heaven. More than 40 years after its release, this
remains one of the top influences on rock music.
 The snow’s really piling up out there. I can hear a few thousand students
chanting, “snow day” and a few hundred parents crying. I don’t mind the snow.
This is the only time of year when my yard looks as nice as the one next door.
 You are listening to Rick’s Classic Rock on ABCD, the voice of Beantown Radio.
Next up is a song sure to make you forget all about winter for a while – Born to
Be Wild.

elcome to the weather forecast. Now, let’s see what the weather is like today. In
the north of the country, it’s very windy and cold. There is a chance of some rain
too, so don’t leave home without your umbrella! The temperature is around 10º
centigrade. In the east it’s rainy all day today, I’m afraid. There may be a
thunderstorm in the afternoon. The temperature is a bit higher, at around 13º.

In the west and middle of the country, the weather is dry but cloudy. So no rain
for you, but it is quite windy and
the temperature is just 10º. The south of the country has the best weather today.
It’s cloudy most of the time but sunny this afternoon. The temperature is around
15º.

- Good evening, I'm Tom Sanders. We interrupt this broadcast of HitRECord on TV to bring you
breaking news of a multiple-fatality car accident just outside of town. Our very own Sharon Beckley-
Bluefield is on the scene, let's go to her now, live, for more details. Sharon?
- my hair? Good? Anything in my nose or teeth? This could be my big break and I swear to God if
there's something in my teeth I'll fucking murder you with your own camera.
- (clears throat) Our apologies viewers, Sharon seems to be having some technical difficulties with
her in-ear microphone. Do we have her now? Sharon, can you hear me?
- Hi, Tom!
- Sharon, what can you tell us?
- Well Tom, it's a real circus out here. Good evening viewers, Sharon Beckley-Bluefield here,
coming to you live from the scene of a very serious car accident on County Road 42. The death toll
continues to rise as more bodies are pulled from the wreckage.
- Sharon, is it known how many cars were involved in the accident?
- Just one, Tom.
- Really, one car?
- Yes, Tom. Friends and coworkers of the victims state that the clown behind the wheel had just
purchased the car early this morning, and invited his associates to go for a ride.
- Pardon the interruption Sharon, but as a news broadcaster I don't think it's appropriate to refer to the
driver as a clown.
- Tom, I assure you I used the term in its most literal sense. I did mention we're at a circus.
- Oh, I see, the circus part was literal as well.
- Yes, Tom. May I continue?
- Please.
- Thanks, Tom. According to eye-witness reports, the car carrying a large but unspecified number of
clowns was just returning from a drive in the countryside, when it encountered a group of mimes in
the road.
- I'm sorry, mimes?
- Yes. Mimes. Is there a problem with my microphone?
- No, please carry on, Sharon.
- Our source, who prefers to remain anonymous, stated that the mimes had some sort of on-going
dispute with the magician, who reportedly trapped the mime troupe inside an invisible box in the
middle of the road. It's been speculated that upon arriving at the scene, the clown driving would have
viewed this as a typical act of mimery, and would have expected that said mimes would soon clear
the way. But the driver missed one very important detail.
- What's that, Sharon?
- Well, Tom, we've been told the mimes were screaming. Audibly.
- Fascinating. What happened next?
- Sources say a circus cowboy who was exercising his horses nearby saw what was about to happen
and quickly lassoed the invisible box, pulling the mimes out of harm's way.
- That's one quick thinking cowboy!
- Yes, Tom. Unfortunately, the driver then swerved out of control, running full force into a popcorn
cart, which promptly exploded.
- Wow!
- Witnesses say the car's doors were jammed shut, trapping the clowns inside. Concerned that the fire
would spread to the car's gas tank, the animal trainer rushed over atop an elephant which was able to
suck up water from the high-dive pool to dowse the flames. The strong man, who was passing by on
his evening stroll with the bearded lady, was able to pry the doors open once the fire was
extinguished, but it was too late for the poor clowns.
- Any update on the number of clowns inside?
- No, Tom. Firemen and EMTs are still arriving on the scene, although no clowns are expected to
have survived this long after the initial crash.
- Why has it taken so long for first responders to arrive?
- Well Tom, that's an interesting question. We're told the fortune teller saw the whole thing unfold in
her crystal ball hours before the accident took place. She tried in earnest to warn police, but they
failed to act. Then when the calls started coming in after the accident, they assumed these were
follow-up pranks.
- Unbelievable.
- Yes, but to be fair, it is a very unusual story.
- Indeed it is.
- Circus officials have released a statement expressing their condolences to the victims' families.
They have assured us that the show must go on, albeit with an abbreviated cast. Tickets are still
available online or at the front gates. Back to you, Tom.
- Thanks, Sharon. Stay tuned to pivot, we'll be keeping you updated on this story as new information
becomes available. We now return you to HitRECord on TV, already in progress.
